About this property

Hyco Hills Hideaway- private location, close to VIR, fast wi-fi, HOT TUB

Welcome to our Hideaway Home on Hyco Lake. We are located on the southern end of the lake in a private cove with little boat traffic. Our cozy home offers ample sleeping room for all of your guests. We have 3 bedrooms on the main level- 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Twin. Downstairs in the bunk room we have 2 Twins and 2 Queens. Each floor has its own bathroom. We also have items for your children- 1 pack-n-play, a booster seat for eating at the table, toddler utensils and plates and lots of games for all to enjoy. Linens and towels are provided for your stay.
Two indoor living areas provide space to spend time with your loved ones. We have 2 large screen smart TVs, you are able to log in to your personal accounts. Our favorite part of the home is the screened-in-porch. We use this area for eating meals or just relaxing. The dock is great for fishing, launching a kayak or paddle board, or even securing your own boat! We can provide information on renting a boat if you are interested. We have several kayaks, a canoe, stand up paddle boards, a floating Lilly pad, and various sized life jackets for you to use during your stay. Enjoy the firepit in the evenings for a fun family s’mores session. Firewood is available for you to use. We have a fully stocked kitchen and a grill on the main level for all your culinary needs. In the evenings or the off-season, soak in the hot tub and enjoy a wonderful view of the lake. We do provide high speed internet access throughout our home and even at the dock!
Our location is a short 15 minute drive to VIR, 20 minutes to Roxboro, NC and 30 minutes to Danville, VA. Once off the main road, we are about a 5 minute drive down a shared gravel road. We ask that our guests travel carefully down the road as you may meet a neighbor or wildlife along the way. It is suitable for most vehicles- 4 wheel drive is not necessary.
We hope you enjoy our home and are able to make sweet memories with your family!

Peaceful location on a quiet part of the lake

Decent house, but public spaces get crowded quickly if you are nearing capacity of beds. The living room and kitchen is pretty small (only 4 chairs at the kitchen table) so difficult to host 10+ people in the wintertime. Beautiful, large deck and lakefront dock - would love to come back and enjoy it in the summertime! The driveway is VERY tight - people with large vehicles be warned!

Labor Day Weekend

My friends and I wanted a low key getaway on the water and Katharine’s prosperity delivered just that! Katharine was extremely communicative prior to us arriving and when we go to our VRBO, everything was in immaculate order. We had the most amazing time on the water, sitting out on the screened in porch and using all the lake toys that were at the house! I couldn’t have imagined a better location/ space to spend a holiday weekend with our friends. Katharine was amazing and I hope we can go back in the future!

Nice place and Great communication!

Very nice house with Great Lake location and view. We arrived, got settled in and realized the internet was not working. (The only negative of the location is there is virtually no phone service) had to find a location with a signal and contacted the owners. Turns out they were not only out of town, but out of the country! Turns out an animal chewed through the Ethernet cable, and they had another cable delivered, rerun and connected within a few hours. The owners took care of an issue without hesitation and was very thankful and happy with their response and communication.
