About this property
Lake House - Modern Log Cabin. Private location on the lake for 8 Guests!
Beautiful Log Cabin with high end furnishings located on beautiful Crystal Lake. With over 500 feet of waterfront and a shallow sandy beach entry, you can make memories with your family for years to come. This property has something for everyone!
There is something for every enthusiast for all seasons. In the spring enjoy mountain biking, hiking or trout fishing in the many streams. There are also many locations for UTVs and ATVs. Golfer's are also anxious to swing into the summer. There are fun and reasonable courses within 10 to 15 minutes drive or make the trip to Jay Peak for a more challenging round. In the Summer the outdoors has plenty to offer right on the lake whether it is swimming, boating, or kayaking. The swimming for your little ones is perfect with a very gradual sandy entry with shallow water. If you have a boat, bring it! There is a public boat launch right next to the property and a dock to tie up to. At the end of the dock the depth is about 6 feet deep so plenty deep for docking all types of boats. In the fall there is nothing better than Vermont's fall foliage. Hwy 100 is regarded as one of the most scenic drives during the season. The north point of Hwy 100 is only about 25 minutes away. Take the trip south and see the colors and visit some of the quaint small towns along the way. In the winter enjoy skiing (downhill or cross-country), snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating or ice fishing. The lake is typically frozen for about 50 days from mid January to the end of February. Please use caution when using the lake in the winter months. For a break from any activity in any season you can also venture to Jay Peak Resort and take the kids to the indoor water park or ice rink for skating.
You will find everything you need at this property. It is completely equipped with everything you need. In the kitchen some of the appliances you may not expect are here with: Air Fryer, Croc Pot, Expresso Machine, Blender, George Foreman Grill and more. A double oven makes cooking easy if you have the holidays in mind. When thinking about your water activities, there will be four kayaks, paddles and life jackets. The beach and water entry is perfect for children of all ages. It is a very gradual slope for added safety for your little ones. Enjoy grilling out for meals on a grill that includes a smoker, full charcoal section as well as a gas portion for those not wanting to mess with the charcoal. In addition, one other gas burner to prepare an entire meal. At night enjoy the firepit. Some firewood will be stocked for your enjoyment. I grew up in Canada and I was always annoyed with mosquitos and other insects. I was shocked that there are very few insects at all to bother you.
In addition to these activities there are local theatres and micro breweries if that is your desire.
Other notable location distances are:
Montreal - 124 miles (2 hours)
Quebec City - 203 miles (3 hours15 minutes)
Boston - 203 miles (3 hours 15 minutes)
Jay Peak Resort - 32 miles (45 minutes)
Burke Mountain Resort - 18 miles (27 minutes)
Stowe Mountain Resort - 52 miles (1 hour 10 minutes)
Burlington International Airport - 75 miles (1 hour 45 minutes)
Manchester-Boston Regional Airport - 158 miles (2 hours 25 minutes)
For your convenience there is a small supermarket in Barton with all essentials. For a broader selection, Newport is about 20 minutes away with larger supermarkets and a Walmart superstore. There are also many more restaurant choices. If you want some fresh meats venture 30 minutes to Brault's Meat Market and Slaughterhouse. Pick your meat and thickness! My preference is an inch and a half thick ribeye! There is wireless internet available but it is not high-speed internet (that is coming soon). However, it is plenty fast enough to stream web meetings, launch websites, etc. and all streaming of multiple televisions is fine. On each television there are multiple streaming options from YouTube TV, Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, ESPN and The Disney Channel. On the rainy days you can binge until your heart's desire. There are three large televisions for your pleasure. One in the main living area, one in the master bedroom and one in the loft area. In addition, the loft area has a 12 foot shuffleboard table for some additional fun. There is an additional fridge/freezer on the outside deck to store your beverages and other items for easy access.
There is no air conditioning but with the temperate climates the downstairs stays comfortable for sleeping with the windows open. The upstairs gets warm so I will supply some portable air conditioners to make sleeping in all bedrooms more comfortable. In the winter please use the wood stove for both heat and ambiance.
If you have any questions about the property please don't hesitate to ask. We are very responsive to your requests.
