The apartment is in a quiet and friendly residential area on the North West Coast of Grand Cayman. It's about 10-15 minutes drive to the busier sections of Seven Mile Beach, and 5-10 minutes to quieter but just as beautiful quieter beaches. West Bay public beach has changing rooms and bathrooms available to the public, as well as picnic huts to enjoy your packed lunch on the beach. Cemetery Beach is a beautiful stretch of beach with shade provided for by trees, and snorkelling here is amazing.
There's mainstream grocery store a few minutes drive, which also offers online delivery (order at least 24 hours in advance), and a few smaller, but with a wide selection, stores within 5-15 minutes drive.
West Bay is home to many of Grand Cayman's popular tourist attractions and activities. The National Park, Barkers, is a serene beach and mangrove protected area great for dog walking, cyclists, horse riders and kite surfers. There are a number of riding stables that offer beach rides, which can include swimming with the horses! Nature walks and bird watching are also popular, and coexist harmoniously alongside the more energetic activities of kite surfing or ATV tours.
It's also home to the Cayman Turtle Centre, a conservation facility dedicated to the protection of Cayman wildlife, primarily turtles but also native birds, butterflies, sharks and other marine life. Next door, you can swim with dolphins at Dolphin Discovery, or there is Cove Cayman not far away on the other side of West Bay.
Visitors also like to take a trip to 'Hell', in West Bay, of limestone rock formations estimated to be 10-15 million years old. You can chat with Hell store employees (and it's resident Satan!) about Cayman's history and send a postcard postmarked with 'Hell'!
West Bay is also home to many of Cayman's best known restaurants; old and new; fancy or casual. Nova is new restaurant Asian Fusion restaurant next door to the apartment.
