About this property
Lovely house with beautiful views by the Rance River. A short walk to Dinan Port
Nestled between forest and nature on the Lanvallay bank of the Rance River, yet in walking distance of the exquisite medieval city centre of Dinan and charming Lehon, our modern but cosy home offers our guests a wonderful place to enjoy the many delights found in this magical part of Brittany. If a lover of nature, history, or fine cuisine all can be found on your doorstep or a short drive to the coast.
Only few minutes’ walk from the house, Dinan, with its castle, walls and basilica, offers visitors the opportunity to explore the historical and architectural treasures of the city whilst wandering through the maze of narrow cobbled streets. Lined with half-timbered buildings now housing an array of boutiques, galleries, bars and restaurants, one is lured into the days of old while enjoying most modern amenities. A large farmers market occupies the central square every Thursday where one can taste traditional foods from Brittany, France and other parts of the world or sample the various artisanal products of the region.
The town centre built on a hill is surrounded by the city walls or ramparts and linked by the Jerzual, a charming road that winds steeply down, to the Port of Dinan. Along the quayside one can take in the port atmosphere of barges and sailing boats or enjoy a meal or drink at one of the fine range of outdoor restaurants and cafes.
From the port one may venture onto the river. A ferry will take one as far as St Malo and the coast while a guided boat tour introduces the tourist to the sites up or down the river. Alternatively one may freely explore this beautiful waterway and its picturesque banks and gorges by hired boat, canoe or bicycle.
The property is accessed along the river`s towpath between the old stone bridges of Dinan and Lehon. Situated on the River bank, one can make the most of the idyllic setting for cycling, jogging, fishing or leisurely strolls with family and pets.
Designed to benefit from the breathtaking surroundings just staying at this beautiful home will make your holiday memorable.
Free parking is provided for 2 vehicles in front of the house. Private access to the house is through the front flower garden with an outdoor terrace for the guests` personal use. A barbecue is available.
The house is divided between three floors , with the two lower levels being for the sole use of the guests. This includes in 120m2, a Lounge/Games area on the Ground Floor. Here there are board games and books for the family`s use and a fireplace to warm up cooler evenings.
On the Floor above are the open plan Dining and Kitchen with views toward the viaduct and wooded valley. Also on this floor are the Master Bedroom which has a panoramic view over the valley and the two smaller Bedrooms that look to the forest and down the valley respectively. Each bedroom accommodates two guests. The Bathroom/Toilet is also located on this floor.
Television and free Wi-Fi are also provided.
The second floor loft has an apartment used by owner and accessed independently.
We are happy to welcome you to this exquisite corner of Brittany.
