We thoroughly enjoyed the lushness of the backyard / deck. When you sit under the back pergola, you are surrounded by greenery. The house was well supplied and updated.
This was the perfect house for my sister and me to stay at while we enjoyed a long awaited reunion with our older sister who lives in Hudson. Reading a couple of bad reviews on the website made us a little nervous when we were deciding where to stay but we are so glad that we didn’t let them prevent us from booking this charming place. We received an e-mail with the check-in information from our host a couple of days before our scheduled arrival. The directions were detailed and easy to follow. Although we didn’t need to contact our host, Fiona, during our stay, I feel confident that she would have responded quickly and would have filled any reasonable request we may have had.Everything was neat, orderly and clean, which is very important to us as we are both clean fanatics. The kitchen was well equipped and so were the bathrooms. We especially loved the docks where we enjoyed our morning coffee chat every day. By the way, there is a guest book at the house and not one person wrote of a negative experience while staying there.Truly, do not hesitate to stay here. You will not be sorry. It was perfectly wonderful!
We had a nice time staying here. The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. The listing was exactly as described. We especially enjoyed the dock and patio area. Be aware that the Nest thermostat, in everything mode, will change to 78° when it does not detect activity, which was slightly annoying because we didn’t go by the thermostat regularly. Also, there is a charge to use the boat lift, which we were unaware of. The owners were very accessible by text and we appreciated their helpfulness. We will go back!!
We had a wonderful stay and the hosts were super accommodating on such short notice. Booking went super smoothly and the house is in such a nice neighborhood and it’s easy to find through Google or Apple Maps. The back patio was such a treat and was nicely secluded but had quick access to the canal.
Love the air purifier they keep running in the living room (that was a lifesaver for me.) The rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms with a nice kitchen area to cook at.
I only had 2 very minor gripes. One, they do have a Nest thermostat which will set the ambient temp to 78 when it doesn’t detect any movement within the house. This took us about 2 days to figure out.
Two, we did cook quite a bit in the house while we stayed and they are limited in the cookware they do have available to the guests. My recommendation would be to add a small/medium pan or skillet and a cooking sheet for the oven.
We actually left early after 2 nights, and having paid for 3. Broken patio furniture, ‘Oasis’ filled with weeds, old trash left behind bar. The outdoor selling point was a mess. Home was ok decor but actually food remains in pots for cooking. All I ever got for info was a single email. Paid $170 Host Fee. Did not ever see or hear from anyone. Took pictures. Call this an expensive lesson. 1st & last Vrbo stay.
To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Upon arrival, we noticed that the windows were left open, some w/o screens, to obviously clear out the musty smell. There was dried feces in the toilet & urine stains on the seat. Pictures posted on VRBO of bedrooms are not accurate. Some of the amenities listed are washer & dryer. However, neither were in working condition. The coffee pot was filthy, as was the kitchen sink, & there were no dish cloths or dish towels. The shower in the master bathroom never got hot. Although hot water came out of the bathroom sink faucets. Also, we were only provided a ½ roll of toilet paper.I wrote an email on Jan. 8, listing all the issues, & I came back to the house to find a bag containing several rolls of toilet paper, roll of paper towels, some random towels, & a new set of towels/wash cloths which were useless since I had no working washer/dryer to wash them (which was never addressed nor the cold water in master bath). No communication that someone was going to be entering the property with these items. Whoever came into the house turned the thermostat down. The master bedroom was always cold. Had to take blankets off the other beds to keep warm. There's something on the roof (maybe a vent) that kept us awake most of the nights. This property obviously has been affected by Hurricane Milton & should have been disclosed & pictures need to be updated. I came away with the feeling of being a victim of a "bait and switch".
