About this property

Family friendly retro cottage with huge waterfront

The perfect family getaway where your kids can run free. Almost 200 feet of shoreline where they can walk into the lake or jump from the dock (it's shallow - no diving) and swim without the noise of boats and sea-doos. South facing with all day sun. Explore the lake by paddle board, kayak, canoe or paddle boat. On land, there's a trampoline, ninja line, and large flat grassy field for bocce ball and running around. Great sight lines from the cottage with a gentle slope to the water.

While your kids play, you can join them or relax in the screened in porch, sit at the water's edge, or nap in a hammock. Almost 1.5 acres to explore on the property, with lots of trails in the area for hiking or mountain biking

Enjoy a family dinner outside at the picnic table or inside the screened in porch, watching the light fade.

Finish off your day with a campfire, or relax with a movie indoors or at the fantastic Haliburton Highlands cinema a 20 minute drive away.

Let the sounds of the wild lull you to sleep, listening to the loons calling on the lake. There are two rooms with double beds (one is big enough for a pack 'n play), one room with two twin bunk beds, and a fourth small room with a twin bed. One bathroom, but there's also a clean outhouse to eliminate bathroom lineups.

Lots of games and toys and lightning fast Starlink and a Roku TV for rainy days or for taking a work call when needed.

Equipped with a highchair, booster seat, plastic cups and dishes, pack 'n play, and baby activity centre - we always called this our circle of neglect ;).

Fully stocked kitchen with coffee grinder and maker, kettle, oven, microwave, toaster. BBQ with propane tank just outside the door.

We are not able to provide linens so guests must bring their own. Two double beds, 1 twin bed, and 4 narrow twin beds (30" vs 38"). Pillows and blankets available.

Under an hour from Minden and Haliburton, with necessities found even closer at Irondale or Kinmount.

Note there are two exterior security cameras required for insurance purposes. one is just above the front door and monitors just the cement area in front of the door. The second is at the back door (lakeside) and monitors the back door and dock for safety purposes. The cameras record motion, but we do not monitor them unless there is a valid reason to do so for security or insurance purposes.

Great cottage property for a quiet getaway.

My wife and I hosted both of our parents and siblings for a week at this cottage. It was a great spot for family to gather and relax. Our daughter had a blast playing in the water, easy access for a little 18mo old. On the cooler days we jumped in the trampoline. The rooms are cozy, but that just encouraged us to gather in the common areas. We also laughed as we brought so much kitchen stuff to cook big meals and they already had all the appliances and more. Plus an increible amount of classic board games and toys. Leah was incredibly easy to get a hold of and a great communicator. Would highly recommend.

We live in Toronto with our two kids. We started renting cottages in the area every summer about 6 years ago, and fell in love with it. After three years of searching we have found our paradise and look forward to sharing it with you!

Why they chose this property

We love how peaceful and beautiful it is. We truly appreciate the small size of the like and the lack of sea-doos and motorboats racing around. Kinmount is so charming, and there are hidden gems all around the area.

What makes this property unique

The waterfront is huge at almost 200 feet, and you can choose to jump in off the dock or wade in from the beach. There is so much space for kids to run around, and the cottage is a true cottage. The screened in porch is the icing on the cake.
