Book a winter weekend and enjoy skiing at the nearby Mohawk Ski Resort and drinking hot chocolate or roasting smores by the fire. Questions? Don't hesitate to reach out.

Nearby activities: Farm stands/farmers markets, Wineries, Breweries, Antique shopping/markets, Hiking trails for all levels, Restaurants (the Village Bistro and General store is a 3 minute walk; other taverns and fine dining are less than 20 minutes by car), Ice cream spots, Charming (but modern) playgrounds, Lakes for swimming with public access (summer), Pick-your-own berries (summer), Apple picking and pumpkin patches (fall), Skiing (winter), and so much more!
**Prior to check-in you will be provided with a detailed guide of all spots/activities the owners recommend, including those that are good for kids**

If you're thinking of coming with little kids, Hat Shop House has everything you need: Backyard swing set, UppaBaby Cruz stroller, Plenty of indoor toys (cars, Magnatiles, Lego, Lovevery, etc.), Outdoor toys (kids electric cars, soccer nets, corn hole, bubble guns, water table, sprinkler, splash pad, blowup pool, etc.), Books, Babyletto crib & Pack n' Plays, Blackout shades, Stokke high chairs, Silicone plates, bowls, cups, , Baby Bjorn potties, sippy cups, bibs, and toddler utensils, Booster seats, Baby Bjorn bouncer seat, Bumbo seat, Sound machines, Baby Monitors, Baby gates, Baby bath seats -- it's all there!

The kitchen is fully stocked! If you plan to cook and eat at the indoor farmhouse table or al fresco at the teak table, the kitchen will have everything you need. Just a few steps outside the dining room door is a large gas grill and a Blackstone Flattop. Stew Leonard's (a popular grocery store with kids) is only 20 minutes from the house (and right en route from NYC), and a handful of local grocery stores are less than 10 minutes away. Of course, if you prefer not to cook, the Village Bistro is right around the corner (and they offer take out). A great wine and liquor store is also less than 10 minutes away.

Please note that the house doesn't have a separate gym, but in the garage we have a range of dumbbells (up to 25lbs), workout bench, all sorts of workout bands, TRX, yoga mats, etc. There is also a Peloton in one of the guest bedrooms.

Also note that the bunk beds are kids size, meaning the house really has 3 bedrooms that can accommodate adults.

Weekend away
We had such a great time at this property and the surroundings area. Owners truly made everything possible for one to enjoy the weekend, take all the planning/ research away. So much was provided in the house/ everything you need! So much helpful resources/ suggestions! Thank you!! Place is especially great with kids- toys, playground, books. But our grandparents enjoyed it equally as much. No one wanted to leave. Owners were available in seconds should any questions come up. What a beautiful cozy house you guys have! We will be coming back!!

Fantastic stay!!
Recently stayed for a summer weekend getaway. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The property was clean, comfortable and accurately described. With a 3-year old and a 9-month old, we had everything we could have asked for. At the same time, our host left a super helpful set of recommendations and was highly responsive to all of our questions and concerns. Highly recommended!

The perfect stay for families!
Hat Shop House is by far one of the best home rentals I’ve ever experienced. It was absolutely spotless when we arrived, and really beautifully designed. It feels like a charming British cottage with its original wooden beams in the living room, stylish country-style furnishings, and yet with all the modern comforts! The huge garden is such a highlight. With a children’s playground area (swings and slide!), a large terrace for idyllic outdoor lunches and dinners, and an outdoor seating area which we loved at night with a glass of wine, when it got cooler out. The home also came equipped with everything we could hope for and more - especially useful for us as two families with young kids and a baby. There wasn’t anything missing, from high chairs, cribs, toys, outdoor toys, baby gates, plenty of kid-friendly tableware, baby bath and more. The list is truly endless. The owners were very proactive and responsive making sure we felt at home and knew where everything was, and even helping with excellent family-friendly itinerary suggestions. The neighborhood too, feels high-end, with lots of lovely houses and views and close to some great spots, from farms, local orchards and wineries and cute markets. Totally amazing stay - 10/10 - and we can’t wait to go back!

We're a couple from NYC with two small kids. We bought this house as our weekend getaway and now we're excited to share it with other families who are looking to enjoy the countryside of New England.

Why they chose this property

The property is absolutely stunning. In the back yard you are completely secluded, but you're still only a 3 minute walk to the most charming Village Bistro and General store. And it's only about an hour and a half from the city, which matters when you have kids.

What makes this property unique

If you’re coming with kids, you need not pack anything! Just show up and enjoy!
