Comfy and quiet

We enjoyed the quiet & view of the forest. Lots of comfy places to sit and relax - indoors and patios. We did not come for the resort, so can't speak to that experience.

We loved the property the house and the furnishings were very high-quality, but we’re very disappointed in the television as it is important to us to watch the local live news and movies and nothing was enjoyable on those TVs. Probably will not rent again.

Our first Anniversary stay

My husband and I just spent our first anniversary here last weekend and enjoyed the home very much. It was a very nice, quiet place. I had read some of the previous posts of others who have stayed here and knew to bring an expandable rod and curtain to use on the main bathroom since there isn't a door on it. That worked out great. We really enjoyed spending time on the screened in patio facing the woods. And, a big plus, the bed was super comfy!

Convenient Distance - Needs a Bathroom Door

We loved this place. Everything except there being no bathroom door in the master bedroom. (Seriously, who does that?) It's a five-minute drive to downtown Galena; the two decks provide a great place to just chill and take in the woods; and we enjoyed the entire process of renting, checking in and out. If it were more than the two of us the bathroom thing would have been a bigger deal.

Forest Edge Paradise

There are not enough stars in the rating system for this property. I would rate it a 10 !! Excellent location, very easy access to get into the Galena Territory. Rated as a one bedroom, two bath, but there as a hide a bed couch in the lower level that could have easily been used as a bedroom. The entire house was spotless. We could have lived in the screened in porch/deck. My only complaint was the size of the TV… it was way too small and very cumbersome to operate… granted we did not come to Galena to watch TV, but we had one entire day of rain, so we did have to rely on the TV for some entertainment. There are only 2 other homes on this court, so it is very private and very quiet. I would and will rent this property the next time we make a trip to Galena.

Relaxing Getaway

Cute home in a quiet neighborhood, tucked into the trees. Comfortable and roomy screened-in porch was great for relaxing. Bed was very comfortable. Since there were only two of us, we only used the main floor. We did not find the lack of windows treatments an issue or inconvenience. There are mini-blinds in the bedroom, and sheers on any windows which need privacy. We found the kitchen too dark with only two low-wattage hanging ceiling light fixtures. We enjoyed our stay!

Great getaway!

This is now our Galena go-to getaway spot! This was probably the easiest the VRBO I've ever rented, the cleanest, and absolutely the cutest. A perfect house for a couple to relax. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was great, but the screened-in porch was the real highlight. Thank you so much!!!

Anniversary weekend get away

This home was perfect so quaint and cozy for our weekend to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. Only 10 mins from Main Street galena. Started out each morning taking in the scenic view drinking coffee on the back porch. Would definitely recommend to friends to check out. Only suggestion is bring your own pillows and a garbage bag or 2.

Beautiful cozy home

Galena Get-away

Property served our needs well. We especially enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and the sunny mornings throughout the house. Bed was very comfortable. We read about the masterbath with no door in advance, but it would have been nice to have a door on that for privacy. Nice and comfortable rental!

Cozy Thanksgiving Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Home was well equipped and spacious for two people. Home is tucked into quiet wooded cul-de-sac, and nearby streets had very little traffic. We would definitely stay again. I do agree with previous reviews, which suggested some sort of window coverings on the back of the house to provide privacy from neighbors. Overall very nice home and stay.
