Sycamore Suite of the Blake House

PLEASE NOTE: We do not serve breakfast.
Located in South Asheville just minutes to downtown, and convenient to attractions like Sierra Nevada, Twelve Bones South and Jake Rusher Park. South Asheville is quickly becoming a "must see" destination in its own right, and we are right in the middle of it. When we first discovered that the historic Blake House was for sale, we thought that living here was just a dream. But our dream has come true and we are excited to be sharing it with guests. Welcome to the Sycamore Suite, which is located on the downstairs level of the carriage house behind the main house. It is beautiful, sunny, comfy and delightful. We have spent a great deal of time and effort to make it perfect, and we hope you will love it as much as we do. We are close to the Biltmore House, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the NC Arboretum, Pisgah National Forest and the Folk Art Center. We are convenient to the airport. The nearby towns of Hendersonville and Brevard are both about a 30 minute drive, making them great destinations for a day trip. Our family lives in the main house, so please be aware that the front porch area is our family space and not accessible to guests. We invite you to enjoy the patio area and to walk around and enjoy the grounds.

Great Spot
The property was everything you need in a vacation rental. It is very close to many things in Asheville, within walking distance of a great frisbee golf course, clean, stocked with everything you need and quite spacious for 2 people. We were very impressed!

Very clean, nicely decorated, beautiful bathroom, comfy king bed, and super convenient location. Only one negative - the “owners fees” and cleaning fees are higher than many other similar properties, so we may have to stay elsewhere on our frequent visits to Asheville.

Close by but out of the fray
We enjoyed our two night stay here and felt very comfortable. The apartment is clean, roomy and had everything we needed. It was nice to be only about 15 minutes from Biltmore and be able to avoid highways to get there. We love coming to Asheville and will be looking to stay here again.

The property is well-maintained and quite peaceful, but convenient to the main drag for groceries, restaurants, etc. We stayed there for business purposes, but access to the Blue Ridge Parkway was close and Asheville was @15-20 minute drive (traffic-dependent).There was more than enough room for us, and had we wanted to cook or stay longer, it would have suited our needs well. The owners were lovely and hard at work on the property one of the days we were there. We were VERY pleased with our stay! Thank you.

Weekend getaway!
This property was fantastic. It was exceptionally clean, easy to locate, parking was simple, furniture was comfortable. We met the owner and he was very nice and gave us good advice on what to see while we were in Asheville. I simply can't say enough good about the property and our weekend getaway to Asheville! We will definitely return!

Charming respite near AVL.
We stayed here while I interviewed for a job and we looked for a house to rent. Close to Asheville, yet far enough away for it to be a peaceful retreat from the hubbub. The apt. is decorated serenely with a little kitchen, huge bathroom, comfortable bed and access to laundry. It was very cozy and perfect for our needs. We had the good fortune to meet our lovely hosts (who were working enthusiastically around the property). There is a cute coffee shop around the corner, as well as a Rocky’s Hot Chicken-both within walking distance of the Blake House. So pleased we were able to book here (and at the last minute!).

However, the kitchenette had no counter, no sink plug and two small towels for linens. All we wanted to do was have cereal and toast for breakfast but it was difficult. Also, we had the owners over twice to get the tv to work and finally only one of two functioned. So, put in a little side table under the window to hold a little bit of breakfast and make the tv,s user friendly and and the place would merit a 5.
