My husband and I booked this cottage because of the back deck with a view to White Pond. We were very pleased. My husband got up most mornings, made coffee, and hung out on the deck for a couple of hours, just "chillin'", which he doesn't do in regular life! The pond is down a somewhat steep slope (a concern for those with ambulatory issues) and leads to a shared beach; there are a lot of trees to obscure the view of people/chairs, etc., and we never found the noise from the various people who showed up to swim/fish/kayak intrusive. No motorized equipment is allowed on the pond, which was heavenly, because it was often quiet and serene when we were outside enjoying the deck.
Two big sliding doors off both the master bedroom and living room onto the deck were delightful when open, letting in a cool breeze that circulated throughout the house. There is a large standing fan in the living room which we used a couple times when the weather got a bit hot/humid. Low 80's and humid on a few days, not horrific; the fan conveniently provided moving air which made it seem less close.
Bathroom is small but not cramped. Best water pressure I've ever encountered -- it might blow you out of the shower! We appreciated the entire cottage was very clean when we got there. Master bedroom has a Queen bed and dresser and small closet w/ plastic hangars. Also has an A/C, which we used because that room tends to get a little stuffy. We didn't leave the sliding door open (w/ the screen closed) because of security fears. Probably could have, but I was uncomfortable sleeping with it open so we used the A/C instead.
Cottage is decorated in blues, some sea greens, with red accents. Very pretty and well-appointed.
We swam every evening after coming back from various excursions (use TripAdvisor for a list of "What to do in Cape Cod"). Refreshing water, not too cold.
A small downside is no grilling allowed on the deck; you must bring your own grill and take it to the shared beach area. We never did and in our 2 weeks there didn't see anyone else grilling in the approved area. The food in the area (seafood) was so good we ate out most of the time. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking, tho. Nice breakfast bar with 4 chairs. A good-sized, well stocked ShopRite is within :15 of the cottage; the prices are what we are used to in NJ, so no worries about groceries.
Lovely location - beautiful view, comfortable cottage. A real winner!
