About this property

Private Waterfront House AC & Fast Wi-Fi 30 Day

This house is all about being right on the water. A seawall provides protection from waves at high tide. A North Shore Beach House with the comforts of a nice home ideal for long term stays. Local pickle ball played right down the street.

30 Day Minimum Contract
Included in our long term stay price we will have the housekeeper come in and change towels, sheets, and tidy up for you after 2 weeks at no extra charge. Stay as long as you like.

Creature comforts include: Mini-split air conditioner, WiFI, and wireless Sonos music system that streams music of your choice. TV shows and movies streamed via Netflix. Lighting is all dim-able low voltage halogen. Bedroom features a pillow top King bed with plush hotel quality sheets and overhead ceiling fan. Tiled shower with 4 sets of towels provided. Large ceiling fan in the great room circulates the cooled air. With the air conditioner, you can keep the windows closed to minimize road noise and salty air. Portable gas barbecue for grilling. Fully stocked kitchen with externally vented hood allows you to cook, eat in, and feel at home.

The big round table has a plug near it and this is where my son works from home. The WiFi is fast. We have no washer or dryer currently but we have a drying rack and a clothesline and wash small items in the big kitchen sink if needed. The laundromat in Kaneohe is great and several loads can be done in about an hour. Housekeeper laundry arrangements can also be made.

Favorite things to do: 1) Greet the morning with a cup of coffee on the lanai and watch the sunrise. 2) Go to a new beach every day. 3) Take a drive to Haleiwa for shave ice and a stand up paddle board lesson. 4)Explore the road less traveled, south towards Kaneohe-Kailua area all the way to Waimanalo beach. 5) Snorkel behind the house anytime you want. Play pickle ball with the locals.
Other than that, sit back and relax in your own private slice of Hawaii. Aloha!

Nice clean house on the ocean
The house was very clean and look just like the pictures. House is stocked with everything you would need from kitchen to bathroom items. It is so nice staying on this side of island and close to north shore. We enjoyed sunning on the deck. Central air is nice and kept whole house cool when it was hot and no breeze. Dog noise was not a problem and the road noise is part of renting on the ocean on this side of island. Just turn on fan to drown out the noise. King size bed was so comfortable. Thanks Jeff nice place and we will stay here again

Cozy condo on the water
We started our vacation on Oahu in Waikiki Beach and then moved to this location. This is a much less commercial area than Waikiki. Fewer options for shopping and restaurants but less traffic and fewer people. It is very close to the Polynesian Cultural Center which we would highly recommend. The listing was accurate and well-stocked with everything that you need. Only thing that would be nice is a washer and dryer. There is a bit of traffic noise as the unit is 15 feet from the road but with the fan and air conditioner on, it greatly reduced the traffic noise. Nice to be right on the water! Fun to drive 20 - 30 minutes to the North Shore for huge waves in winter and turtle watching. We would return to this condo.

Clean and awesome location!
We had a great experience at this property. The property is very clean for a good price right on the water off a main road. Beach towels are provided, the view is beautiful, it’s near Kuaola ranch and only a short drive to the main north shore beaches. You can’t beat this location for a adorable clean house! Highly recommended!

East Oahu Haven
We'll maintained home, inside and out. Although it was stormy off and on, we did get to enjoy some time on the deck in the afternoon at low tide, and even watched as two young men spear fished just feet from the sea wall. They caught a baby octupus

My second time at this property.
If this house is available, I will always rent here. What you see in the listing pictures, is what you get. The view is amazing! The house is clean. The bed is so comfy, I got the best sleep. Everything you need in the kitchen is there. Jeffrey was wonderful. There was a storm and I was nervous about being on the water. He calmed my nerves and let me know how secure the foundation wall to the property was. I love this house and Jeffrey is always great!

Amazing Vacation Home
We stayed 5 nights at this beautiful little home. It was newly remodeled and right on the ocean. It is perfect for 2 people and has all the amenities needed. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. We only wish we would've stayed longer! Thank you Jeff for making the process so simple and allowing us to use your home. Truly an amazing experience.

Breathtaking sunrises
We came to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The property was perfect for us. We used the well stocked kitchen mostly just for breakfasts. The Sonos system allowed us to enjoy music during our stay. The views of the ocean were calming and relaxing. The AC was great as it was in the mid 80’s during our stay. Jeff was great to get a hold of with any questions.

Perfect for couple
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this oceanfront home. Everything we wanted to do was close by. We traveled all over the island and found that we enjoyed the beaches around the house to be the nicest. Lots of good places to eat within miles. The house was equipped with everything we needed and more. The best part, the view! Waking up to the sun rising over the ocean is amazing!

Nice for a cottage stay
The view from the living room was great! The patio could use some updating. The cottage was also pretty noisy to sleep, between the road traffic and the dog next door. It also gets musty, we assumed the property was more of a home than a cottage. The lighting was great, and its awesome to have use of the boogie boards and snorkel equipment.

Whale watching out the back window
Pros: --Right on the ocean, complete with the sounds of the waves and the amazing views. --For a couple, an appropriate amount of space. --Great amenities provided by the owner (Roku, Sonos, beach supplies like chairs/towels/snorkeling equipment, kitchen appliances including a dishwasher and cooking tools) --Proximity to beaches and the North Shore as well as a couple grocery stores and drug store. --Clean place, covered parking spot, air-conditioning if you need it. --Every random thing we looked for, we found in the house (extra toilet paper, garbage bags, dishwasher pods, salt/pepper, sugar, coffee filters) which is always a pleasant surprise. Cons: --Right on the "highway" (speed limit 35 mph) but the road noise requires some initial adjustment. --Awkward working distribution of the kitchen.

Clean and comfy, all the amenities.
Pros and cons. Pros. Nice location on the island, away from the Honolulu side. Clean and comfortable. Had everything two of us needed. Being two people that expect clean and taken care of, it is. Comfy king size bed. Good air conditioning. TV and all the channels. We have nothing negative to say about the property itself. Cons. Only one, but had a effect. The photos don't show the neighboring homes on each side. Rough shape! And the house on the east side, by the bedroom has a loud barking dog. All hours of the night. Didn't even want to sit out on the patio as that's when you get the full view of these homes. Can't blame the property owner for this. The "norm" of Oahu... which is beautiful homes nestled between and amongst shacks. This is everywhere we learned. But feel first renters/vacationers should get a full idea and expectations. We'll still give this home a 4 star. Owner is very responsive, easy to deal with. Thank you for opening your home.

Great waterfront house
We enjoyed our time here. This was our first time staying on the N Shore. We spent 23 days on 3 different islands this trip. Our first two houses were without A/C. It was very nice to have A/C at night in this house as I always sleep better when it’s cool. The house was close to everything we wanted to do. Kualoa Ranch is about 10 mins away. Polynesian Cultural Center is 10 mins away. Shark Cove is 30 mins away. Food land is just up the road and there are food trucks everywhere. If you’re plan on visiting a beach, get there early as parking is normally full at every beach by 10. We did the Hawaiian Shark Encounter.......if you’ve ever thought about it, do it, don’t hesitate. It was amazing! Had Galapagos sharks and a 10+ tiger shark swimming around our cage. Best excursion so far. Our first trip to Oahu was horrible as we stayed in Waikiki. Honolulu and Waikiki are not a good sample of what Hawaii is. The N Shore was gorgeous and by the time we were getting ready to leave, we were already planning our next trip back. We definitely would stay here again.

Oceanfront home
The owners were easy to deal with and got back to us promptly with any questions and booking. This home sits right near the water which is beautiful but there is no beach access. This side of the island is very laid back and away from the hustle and bustle but easy access to the action when you want it. There are a few things to be aware of, one is that the neighbor on the bedroom side does have a dog which barks at random and I was awaken 3 times at around 4am in the morning because of this, which isn't ideal on vacation. I never could figure out what it was barking for and it would bark while you sat on the patio and were perfectly quiet. I contacted the owner and he told me they hadn't had any issues recently regarding the dog but he was aware of it and tried having a conversation with the neighbor a couple of years earlier, with no luck, so, just be knowledgable of this when booking. The other couple items that we noted at this home were that there is no umbrella or cover for sitting on the patio, which can get hot. I am guessing because it is winding here but I used my own beach umbrella and had to figure out a way to keep it up when outside. The other is the sofa is very uncomfortable to sit on and the TV is fairly small for being the only one. I would suggest a pull out sofa which would provide more comfort and extra sleeping for other guests, there are cushions in a closet but I can't imaging trying to sleep on those, also a larger TV would be great. The large window in the front room is just a window, you have to access the patio through the bedroom or the carport. They could also use a few more towels and beach towels. The plus side is that there are beach chairs and snorkel items in the exterior storage unit outside which is really nice so you don't have to pack all of those items! It was great to have a full kitchen to be able to keep food items or cook if you wanted to. All in all we had a great stay and felt very safe here. The property is on the main road but it was never hard leaving or returning and we really didn't hear the road at night because the bedroom is situated on the water side. This would not be the case for anyone sleeping in the living room though. The wifi service was great and we never had any problem with it and it is really nice to have working a/c, a lot of properties do not have this and it does get warm! We also really enjoyed the sono music system and had it on all the time while we were there.

Relaxing home away from home!
This was our first VRBO experience so we did not know what to expect. Jeff's place was amazing and was exactly like the pictures. We enjoyed waking up and hearing the ocean every morning and we're sad when it was time to go. You will not be disappointed with this rental. Beautiful view of the ocean! Enjoyed the Sonos music and relaxing living space. Would definitely stay again!

About the host

Hosted by Jeffrey Bell

Host profile image
I grew up on Oahu and we go back every year to visit family and friends. We have rented several beach homes over the years but our favorite memories are from small places right on the water. We bought this place with those memories in mind. The lack of crowds and local vibe makes us feel like we have come home.

Why they chose this property

The North Shore was always a favorite place to hang out. But I rarely ventured out to Hauula, because it seemed 'too far away' from it all. Now, 30 years later, 'too far away' is a good thing if you know what I mean.

What makes this property unique

The beach area is secluded due to its private location. Feels more like a home with neighbors unlike a resort destination. Plenty of food nearby- Tamura's market and local eats. Papa Ole's serves the best loco moco and the Hukilau Cafe in Laie is great. Romy's shrimp shack in Kahuku is a must do. Favorite North Shore beaches up the road include Waimea Bay, Sharks Cove, and Three Tables; or drive south to Lanikai in Kailua.
Close to Polynesian cultural center and Kualoa Ranch.
