Thanks to Tom, our stay in this lovely, natural setting made for the memory of a lifetime. Our host is a living display of the warmth and hospitality of the south, whose colourful stories entertained and educated. Though it currently lacks a jacuzzi and cooktop. the house is comfortable and land itself is a welcoming natural retreat. I am so glad this is the place we picked on our way to the beach.
Had a wonderful experience on the farmstead. Beautiful walking trails, particularly with young children. The flowers, gardens, birds, pond were all relaxing yet fun to explore with inquisitive minds. The house was welcoming and the screened porch was a treat.
A completely wonderful cabin with the most beautiful bird watching. We spent our whole time soaking in the nature on the screened in porch. We had such a fantastic time. Tom was wonderful to visit with. We will hopefully be back!
Loved seeing an out-of-the-way part of our great state. Tom offered clear directions and interesting history about his family's land. The cottage is not as secluded as it was originally, but we enjoyed a long quiet morning on the screened porch overlooking the pond and much wildlife. We had a wonderful stay.
This is the perfect place for those wanting to get away from it all. The cabin is beautiful and private. Tom is very nice and welcoming. The porch is so nice and relaxing with a wonderful view and the coolest shower. Thanks Tom and Jan!
Stayed one night as a stopover between Maryland and Hilton Head. Mr. Jackson may be the nicest person on the planet. Incredibly relaxing and quaint. Pond water levels were low but my 16yr old son caught a bass within 15 minutes. Will definitely return.
This beautiful cabin with a screened in porch overlooking the pond, where you could listen to the frogs, and birds and resident wildlife was a dream. I was worried about our ability to make calls etc in this somewhat remote location south of Dunn, but I have a Verizon prepaid plan and had no trouble getting or placing calls as well as using my data to check email etc. We enjoyed the walking trails, the clawfoot tub, and did I mention how beautiful the cabin was!!
Our stay included two adults and one 5 year old, and we absolutely loved this place and found no need to leave the property while there. The owner, Tom, is a really great guy who has put a lot of effort into creating an atmosphere conducive of REAL connection. Having a stay filled with miles of trails through the woods, a large pond from which to fish with the provided fishing boat, and time spent paying attention to one another when inside MORE than make up for the fact there is no TV, radio, or internet. By design, the lack of these items is not a bug, but rather it is a feature that adds tremendously to the enjoyment of the property.
Everything was clean, and everything was well stocked as far as clean towels, linens, dishes, toiletries, etc.
This was a great stay with the only complaint I have being that we had to check out (LOL). We look forward to coming back again soon.
Tom was amazing and kind. The property was exactly what we were looking for. Loved the fireplace and shower. Definitely plan on staying again in the future.
My partner and I stayed here one night for our three year anniversary. I wish it could have been longer. This was exactly what we were looking for and enjoyed every minute of our stay there. The cabin was beautiful and we absolutely loved the fireplace and all the wood provided. The property was beautiful with the walking trails, pond, screened in porch and everything about it. We were looking for a relaxing get away and that was exactly what we got! Thank you Tom and Jan!
We had the best experience renting the guest cabin. Tom is so lovely and made us feel so very welcome! The cabin is so beautiful and relaxing. Will be returning!
We stopped here on the way from N Virginia to the Savannah Georgia area and couldn't have been more pleased. The cabin was roomy and had great character, Tom was a gracious host and is a bit of a history buff and arborist. Being unplugged was great for bonding with my 7yr old who had never been separated from his electronic tether! We enjoyed the trails walk and the character of the cabin, we loved the place and plan to return annually ;) Thank You Jackson Farm!
The guest house is beautiful and we enjoyed our short time there. Everything was great except there was some squirrels living in the attic. We would like to come back when there is more water in the pond/lake. Over all it was a nice place to stay. Quiet with lots of birds to watch.
If you are looking for quiet days and nights to be with nature, watching birds and going for walks, this is the place. The cabin is spacious and very functional , simple and comforting. We enjoyed the shower on the porch , a long bath in the claw foot tub (with provided bath salts and herbs). The closest town is about 20 min away so come prepared. We enjoyed walking on the trails, see the orchard and herb garden. We also saw deer, a river otter and many species of birds. We are already planning to go back in the fall.
