This historic cabin, only a few minutes walk from Long Pond lake, features 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed, a beautiful wood-paneled living room with sofa bed, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, porch with rocking chairs, and an outdoor dining area and deck with views of a hillside forest. Enjoy lake access with the two provided kayaks, fishing, swimming, or sunbathing on the beach, as well nearby hiking and restaurants in Mahopac.

I love Putnam County, especially Mahopac that is especially charming and reminds me of old-world America.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is historic and was one of the first properties to be built in the area in the 1930s, originally as a hunting lodge. The property is also located close to Long Pond, which is one of the few natural, wild lakes in the Mahopac area. Guests have exclusive access to the lake, as well as two kayaks stored at the beach area only a few minutes walk from the cabin.
