About this property

3BR/3BA Home - 15 Min to DC - 2/3 Acre w/Fenced Yard - Driveway Parking 4 Cars

The place to be if you want to feel at home - while away from home! A recently remodeled home in a quiet neighborhood, with plentiful light and 2000 sq ft of living space, split across three levels.

Location, location, location ... you will be centrally located with easy access to DC's and Virginia's most desirable attractions. It’s just 11 miles to DC, 10 miles Tyson’s Corner and 11 miles to Old Town Alexandria, all via interstate highways (I-395 / I-495 / I-95) access to which is just 2 miles away.

If you prefer public transportation, the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) Backlick Rd. Station, with ample free parking, is within 1 mile. VRE trains take you directly to Alexandria, Crystal City, L’Enfant Plaza and Union Station.

After a long day of sightseeing or work, you will be able to retire in peace and quiet on this large property, where you can hear the birds chirping and the woodpeckers pecking. Relax on the large deck, or make a bonfire in the backyard fire pit. Trees are abundant and make you feel as though you are miles from the city when, in fact, you are only minutes away!

Our home is newly renovated with fresh paint and new hardwood/tile flooring throughout the house. It is super clean (ALL linens and blankets are washed after each rental) and tastefully decorated to created a warm and comfy feeling.

It features accommodations for up to 6 guests, with one king-size bed, and two queen size beds. All the beds, except the inflatable mattresses, have new extra padding toppers. Hardwood floors throughout the main living areas are accented by stylish area rugs and furniture.

The Master Bedroom, which has a king-sized bed, features a private bathroom, and closets with plenty of room for clothes and shoes. The master bedroom backs up to a wooded area, with large mature oak trees. If you open the windows, you might hear the crickets and frogs at night and the birds in the morning.

Our home is equipped with many things to make your stay as comfortable and carefree as possible. Our kitchen has a new stainless steel refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher, plus an array of pots, pans, and a Keurig coffee maker. You may choose to eat breakfast in the very large eat-in kitchen, or in the dining room, which is equipped with an antique pine table that seats six.. On a sunny day, you may also choose to enjoy our beautiful, private deck.

The large downstairs, which is newly, finished, has tile floor, and with its large sectional sofa and gas fireplace, can serve a family gathering place, or a place to curl up and read a good book. It is adjoined by a office space, with a desk to get some work done, and a 1/2 bath.

Large, modern Samsung washer and dryer are available for guest use.

The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) Backlick Rd. Station, with ample parking, is within 1 mile and the bus stop is only a 3 minute walk. Interstate 395 and 495/95 are less than two miles away for quick access to downtown or to all parts of Virginia and Maryland.

Springfield Home

This home is in an up and coming neighborhood. It is an older home with hardwood floors which means there are squeaks and creaks. The layout is good with a living area and work space in the basement area. The main living area is on the main floor with the kitchen. Three bedrooms are upstairs; it is a short number of stairs to get to them. The master bath is tight on space but has a large tiled shower only. The second bathroom on the upper floor has a tub and shower combo with a little more room than the master. The third bath is off the work space area. The kitchen is small but has all the amenities needed. An odd item is that none of the windows have any treatments which means no privacy or light control. The master bedroom faces east so one certainly knows when the sun is rising. The check out process was easy and unburdensome. There was a slight delay in communication because the host was having trouble using VRBO to reply to my messages but he/she started texting me directly. One other point, typically with past rentals I have automatically received the code to open the front door prior to the time of check in but for this rental I had to request the code from the host and there was no indication in the description that I would need to communicate with them on how to receive the code.

Well stocked and great outdoor space

I stayed here with my mom and 2 sisters while we had a girls trip to DC. The house was in a very nice neighborhood which felt safe and walkable. The house was one of the cleanest vacation rentals I have ever stayed at and for someone that is a clean freak like me, that made a huge difference. There was even a lot of cleaning rags and supplies there to clean during our stay (which i loved). The twin beds are not the most comfortable for large adults since they are just a mattress on a small metal frame but the mattress is memory foam. One of the only complaints we had was the lack of window coverings. There are no curtains or blinds of any kind so when the sun came up in the morning you were waking up whether you wanted to or not! The owner was very communicative and we would definitely stay here again if we are ever in DC

Nice

Great communication from host. I believe they should consider adding some great to front bedrooms just because neighbors across the street have very bright porch lights. A little confusion checking in because of the VRBO not the hosts issue.
