Villa with huge private pool and sublime garden

Villa Alemà is a spacious villa with private pool and garden located on the south-eastern flanks of Mount Etna just a few minutes outside the towns of Aci S. Antonio and Acireale. The villa has high ceilings and smooth lava stone features. The garden is beautifully tended, with a perfect lawn and shaded areas, including a gazebo. Indoor and outdoor living areas combine seamlessly.

The villa consists of a main building on two floors and an annex:
- from the main entrance you access the living room that once was a ‘palmento’, an antique olive crusher. The living room opens onto a covered patio area, perfect for dining during hot summer days. The ground floor has a spacious kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The 1st floor has a bathroom, 3 bedrooms with air conditioning, and a terrace with a wide view on Mount Etna.
- the annex is provided with air conditioning and has a double bed and a bathroom.

Groups of 6 persons and less benefit from a discounted price without the use of the annexe.

Villa Alemà is ideal for families and friends who wish to explore the Eastern side of Sicily and relax in a huge garden with private pool. Thanks to the heating system and a gas heater in the palmento, the villa is also suitable for a winter stay.

The pool is 16 x 10 meters and up to 2.90 meters deep.

Fantastic Stay

We had an amazing time at this very beautiful villa! It had everything you could ask for and more. The pool was in constant use as we were blessed with fantastic weather! The hosts helped us organise a birthday celebration lunch which was sublime. Special shout out to Gratz who was delightful to deal with and helped us organise a very memorable stay. 5 stars ⭐️ thank you

We had an amazing time in Sicily. We came with our four kids and they loved the space and huge pool. Myself and my partner loved waking up to the amazing views of Mt. Etna each morning and we had an absolutely fantastic week. We had read previous reviews and yes - some of the pieces were slightly rough around the edges but bearing in mind the sheer size of the place it would be hard not to find something! Nothing detracted from our stay and we really loved every minute. The villa is in a smaller town which isn't particuarly touristy - we loved this aspect. we were warmly welcomed everywhere we went and it was just a brilliant stay. Thanks again!

We stayed in the villa with a group of 13 and had plenty of space - one room is a room of 3, others were all doubles. Two bedrooms downstairs did not have air conditioning and we did ask the owner to bring more fans but it would have been better to have AC in all bedrooms. Bathrooms and particularly the showers are extremely small considering the amount of space, would be nice to have bigger showers. We ended up using the outdoor cold shower mostly. Kitchen was nice and big and had 2 fridges but we had a few power cuts since we visited during the heatwave in July so the fridge didn't stay cold all the time. There was also a leak under the sink which needs fixing. Dishwasher was useful, and kitchen was well equipped with crockery and cookware, but we did have to purchase essentials like things for cleaning, tea towels, and cooking essentials like oil and spices. The pool and outside area was great with a big BBQ area and table tennis. The pool is quite deep on one end and a quite a lot of chopped tiles on the bottom so be careful with small children. Also there were no pool towels provided so be sure to bring your own or prepare to buy some. We had hired cars which made getting around the island much easier. There's not a lot within walking distance so cars are recommended. Nearest supermarket was 5-10 mins drive away.

It’s all about the pool

Wonderful house in large grounds with fabulous pool. However it needs attention. Pool tiles missing but not excessive. Inside is huge with 2 large and 1 smaller shower room. They desperately need updated - plenty of room for walk in showers and a bath! No shower mats we had to use towels. In the bedrooms the decor is either dull or too much colour. It’s such a great building having been an olive palmento. It deserves to be better styled! There are some wonderful touches but the seating areas need to be better. The kitchen is a great size with large fridge. The dining room is like a school dining hall with plastic table cloth over 2 tables. No lamps only overhead light. We rearranged it to suit us. There are plenty of sun beds and an outside table and chairs, covered. Also there are 2 outside pool showers. We didn’t use the self contained flat or the barbecue area (covered) It’s a quiet neighbourhood with great views of Mt Etna. You’ll need a car, there’s a big supermarket nearby. There’s a table tennis table. It’s quirky with 2 bedrooms downstairs and 3 upstairs, 2 large terraces upstairs with outside steps to ground level. We enjoyed it as we spent our days by the pool but the inside needs attention. It could be stunning.

La maison est grande, agréable, au calme et proche des accès autoroutiers. L'accueil est sympathique. Massimo et Gratzelia étaient disponibles pour répondre à nos besoins. Nous avons passé une semaine dans la maison, nous avons été très bien accueilli, la maison est spacieuse, nous étions 4 couples avec des enfants et pas de problèmes de places. La piscine est immense et très agréable. La maison est située au pied de l’Etna et proche de Catania et Taormina, une position idéale pour visiter les environs. We were 12 friends staying in the villa for a week and had a great stay. The villa is really spacious and the pool is huge! There’s lots of outdoor and indoor spaces to hang out and relax, and sunset views of mount etna from the Terrance were a treat every night. Even in late July the garden is lush and there were lots of places to keep cool in the shade. 2 of the bedrooms are without air conditioning but have fans. The kitchen is big and we cooked meals for 12 most nights comfortably, including big bbq area outside. The supermarket is a short drive away. We had one car between 12 people for supermarket trips, and used taxis which can be organised through the host to explore more of Sicily. The host organised an beautiful day trip on a boat for us, including lunch, drinks, cave swimming and also dolphins! Overall a great stay and we would return again

lovely large spacious villa with a very large pool ,there was 10 of us. we loved the table tennis and spent many hours playing of an evening . took full use of the outdoor kitchen/ bbq and enjoyed the view of Mount Etna as we ate or evening meal . quick trip to decathlon for a football and badminton set to add to the entertainment ( garden is more than big enough to accommodate this ) would recommend having a car to get out and about . all rooms upstairs have air con and so did the annex ,downstairs bedrooms had fans . communication was excellent on arrival ,during our stay ( we needed to contact them) and on check out as well . we had two cars and there was plenty of space to park behind the secure gates .

Willa jest świetną bazą wypadową do zwiedzania Katanii i okolic. Super basen, posiłki przy wielkim stole z widokiem na dymiącą Etnę, wielki ogród, w któym dzieci świetnie się bawiły, to wszystko sprawia, że pobyt w willi jest naprawdę przyjemny. Willa znajduje się trochę na uboczu - nie ma transportu publicznego, więc trzeba wypożyczyć auto nas czas pobytu - co nie jest tanie na Sycylii , więc warto zrobić to z dużym wyprzedzeniem czasowym. Do supermarketu Deco 6 minut samochodem. Do Katani ok. poł godziny drogi , płatną autostradą za 0,5 Euro. Dużo atrakcji do zwiedzania w promieniu 150 km od Willi. Willa schludna i czysta. Byliśmy grupą 10 dorosłych + 6 dzieci i nie było problemu z brakiem miejsca - to naprawdę duży obiekt. Super kuchnia - otwarta na ogród od strony basenu. Jedyne minusy to brak ciepłej wody w prysznicu na górze, ale to nie problem, bo do dyspozycji były jeszcze 3 na dole oraz to, że po odbiór kluczy przy naszym wyjeździe właściciel przyjechał bez gospodarza,a nie mówi po angielsku , przez co nie mogliśmy dogadać się w kwestii płatności podatku klimatycznego. Ogólnie super pobyt! POLECAM!

Absolute must stay!!

We were traveling with a group of 14 people, age range from 12 to 70. There is enough space available that everyone felt very comfortable. The pool was amazing, the kids spent hours every day swimming, it is clean and well maintained. The sitting rooms were spacious and very comfortable. There was more than enough sleeping area for our group size. The hosts were the absolute best. They helped make arrangements for some group activities and went beyond anything our previous stays did. Communication before and during our stay were the best! Centralized location not far from restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores. Also not far off the main highway so getting to Catania, Messina, and even Siracusa was not difficult. Massimo made arrangements for an amazing dinner for one our nights, including vegan options for 2 of our group members. The chef was great and very entertaining.

A great house and garden suited for large groups. I spent a satisfying week with 4 people in the villa. Some elements of the house could use some modernization/upgrading: the bathrooms, the bedrooms/mattresses, kitchen equipment, WiFi, these are all elements that have been in people's reviews for some years now. The lounge area could do with an upgrade of the furniture. Of course when the weather is great you will not spend a lot of time inside: the pool and the green garden are great, the outside cooking area is massive. There are enough spots to lounge outside, in the sun, in the shade, with enough space for large groups of people. The house is also closely located to popular sights in the area (Etna, Taormina, wineries, etc.). Giulia was very welcoming, quick to respond to questions, and had some great tips for (culinary) outings. Overall if you're looking for a space to spend vacation time with a large group of people (>8), would definitely recommend, for small groups other places may be more suitable.

Amazing garden with lots of space for everyone, very clean and deep swimming pool and good BBQ equipment to spend your time outside! On rainy days you can spend your time playing pool inside the house or cook in the well equipped kitchen! Some of the beds were not very comfortable and some bathrooms have quite small showers, but in general we enjoyed our time in this villa and would definitely recommend it to others! This house is amazing! We went there with a bunch of friends (15 in total) and we had a great time. The big highlight is definitely the pool area. The pool is nice and fresh (we were there in October) and very clean. There are a lot of sunbeds, so everyone was extremely comfortable. The house itself offers a great kitchen that is well equipped and has a lot of space for big cooking sessions for big groups. The living room has a pool table, a little "grotto" like we called it and a gallery that offers little spots for smaller groups. You can also find different terraces, one has an amazing view of the Etna Volcano, a true spectacle! So overall, the space distribution is very well done! :) The rooms are fine, nothing special but with this outside area, you won't spend a lot of time in your bedroom. Some mattresses and pillows could be more comfy, but that is a minor point. The correspondence with Nina and Giulia was very good, fast and reactive. On spot we were taken care of Massimo, who was also extremely available and friendly. He explained us everything in the beginning and helped us with a dinner at the house by a private chef, a wine order, excursions and taxis. Thank you very much! We can definitely recommend this place for a big group or a family! Would definitely come back.. :)

Beautiful views of Etna

The house is well equipped and the garden is enormous (Massive barbecue area as well!) The pool was fabulous. The three upstairs bedrooms have aircon, but there isn't any downstairs, which made for some very stuffy nights. Communication with our host was good. The area is quite run down, but you are secure in a gated area, and we drove most places so it wasn't a problem.

This house was so bad we had to check out 2 days early

This house was very disappointing and looks and sounds much better in the photos than in reality. The one star is for the pool, which is the only nice feature - although they filled in the jacuzzi part of the pool with cement, which cheapens it. - Towels and linens were disgusting. They also only provide ONE bath towel and hand towel per person. They were old, torn up, worn out. They even told us if we wanted towels for the pool, we must pay extra for them (??!!). - Mattresses were terrible and old. - Lighting: it was so dark inside it was hard to see - even during the day - because the lighting is terrible and there are not many windows. - Pool table was super old and worn out and the pool sticks were so worn out they did not work properly. - There is no central place to hang out in the house - the rooms are oddly situated and to be all together you had to sit around the dining table. - Kitchen and supplies were old. The oven did not work. - Home booked for 8 ppl and they left us TWO rolls of toilet paper. Ridiculously cheap to not have more so we had to go to store to get some. - Bathroom showers were disgusting - old, grimey, small (I am 5/7 and 135 lbs and could barely fit inside the "master" bathroom shower. The other showers were equally disgusting. - Location is horrible - its so hard to get in and out of, very far from any place you'd want to eat at or hang out at. They only provide one gate key to the property so you can't have two people go in two different places without coordinating for the person with the key to get home first. - It rained and water came in under doors. There are very basic things one can do to make a stay more pleasant - and this house had none of them. I am an avid renter of Villas through airbnb and homeaway, and I own a vacation home myself, and I have to say this is the absolute WORST experience I have had with something in this price-range I don't know how any one could stay in this house for any length of time. After I checked in with my whole famliy and it was so uncomfortable, dirty, old and creepy that I immediately had to start looking for another accomodation in Sisily last minute. And its not like the place is cheap. I paid so much per night (after fees and taxes) and expected at least a bare minimum of comfort and cleanliness. If you expert to "camp" and "rough it", this is your place. If you want to be comfortable and feel somewhat at a nice place, this is NOT for you.

We were a group of 11- 7 adults/4 kids- for a one week stay. The pool was by far our favorite part of the house and we enjoyed it every day! The garden is beautiful and well maintained. We were not prepared for the numerous mosquitoes though- it would have been nice to have more meals outside, but the bugs kept us in. Cooking in the large open kitchen was a joy, and the main room of the house was pleasantly cool even on the hottest of days. We visited Mt Etna, Taormina, Catania, Acireale and Aci Trezza easily from this location. A great start to our Sicily trip!

Просторная вилла. С комфортом разместились четырьмя семьями с детьми. «Плечами» не толкались. Бассейн, газон - супер. Самобытный интерьер, ландшафт. Фото соответствуют. Недалеко автострада, поэтому добраться к достопримечательностям, пляжам и пр. Достаточно быстро. В первый же вечер застали извержение вулкана Этна. Вид на вулкан из виллы просто «бомбейский».
