About this property

Tiny House in the Big Mountains with Hot Tub! Eco-Friendly & near CO Springs!

This beautiful Tiny Home is Eco-Friendly & is nestled in the majestic Rocky Mountains; located 10-20 min of Manitou Springs, CO Springs, Woodland Park & 5 min to Pikes Peak drive. Enjoy the relaxing hot tub & grill in our enclosed gardens. Local hiking, biking, fishing, shopping & dining. Take a day trip to Salida, the Royal Gorge, Buena Vista, Breckinridge or soak in hot springs for summer fun! Activities for ALL walks of life! You won't forget your time in this romantic, memorable place!

THIS IS A TINY HOME. PLEASE READ ALL OF OUR DESCRIPTIONS TO DETERMINE IF OUR UNIQUE ACCOMMODATIONS WILL SUIT YOUR NEEDS!

We want our guests to feel at home! Upon your arrival you will find a home-baked treat along with our locally roasted coffee with a French Press to enjoy for your next morning's breakfast. If you enjoy the pastries, then you are welcome to order from our "menu" selection of many other goodies for additional delicious and quick morning breakfasts (all home-made by your host Shelly)!

Our 236' square "Tiny House in the Big Mountains" is almost all Eco-Friendly! Starting with our Solar Panels for all of its energy needs, to its "earth friendly" needs that includes all of the cleaning supplies that we use down to the shampoo that we provide. We are also very blessed to have all natural well water!

Our kitchen is fully equipped with all the equipment and appliances to create your favorite meals. Please keep in mind that our kitchen has a SMALL oven and SMALL dishwasher. We also have basic condiments, spices, teas and Keurig pods. BBQ tools are also available for grilling on our outdoor propane grill!

Not only will you notice that our tiny home is extremely clean by visual standards, but it's sanitary through all the layers of bedding as well. I want our guests to know that we WASH EVERYTHING; not just the bed linens but also the Duvet Cover each and EVERY time we have new guests!

Our water heater is "instant", which means that the water temperature heats quickly, but it can also fluctuate somewhat in temperature.
We do ask that you don't linger in the shower due to our well water supply.

Our curtains are all "privacy curtains". The only exception is the "entry door curtains" and they are black-out curtains.

You must plan on driving at least an AWD vehicle to our place during fall, winter & spring. Our roads are maintained, but your drive is uphill and can be slick if we've had snow.

We allow no more than 4 guests for a booking; this includes infants as being the 4th guest. Being that our home is "tiny", it may not be suitable for very small children OR for 4 larger adults. Please keep this in mind, but this decision is left up to the booking guest.

We charge $15 extra per night for each additional guest after two guests, except for under the age of two years old.

We have two sleeping lofts, and one sofa sleeper. You will not be able to stand up in either loft.

The "master- loft" sleeps 2 comfortably on a queen floor mattress; access is by stairs.

The "mini-loft" is much smaller, narrower, and would be comfortable for a youth; access is by ladder only. Its dimensions are approx. 7' X 29". NO toddlers are allowed! Bedding is provided upon request.

The "sofa sleeper" is the approx. size of a regular mattress. Two smaller adults would be able to fit CLOSELY if "stretching space" isn't a preference for you; it would be more suitable for 2 youths or just one adult. Bedding is provided upon request.

We have also provided a "White Sound Noise" machine for those who are light sleepers!

A $50 extra cleaning fee may be charged for failing to respect hot tub rules, including: using glass in or near the hot tub, wearing heavy lotions or hair products into hot tub, and spilling food, drink, or bodily fluids into hot tub. Any of the above actions offset the chemical balance of the hot tub and make it unsanitary for future guests. Thank you for understanding (and showering before enjoying the hot tub).

We ask that you don't have any interaction with our dogs. They do not roam free, but you will possibly hear them bark during the day from our deck area. They are our "home security system"!

Cell phone service is a little patchy here in the mountains. Verizon users get the best reception here. We do have WiFi availability for streaming services, but again because we live in the mountains, it can be intermittent at times.

Our Tiny Home is located on Chipita Park Road, sharing the same one acre property that we, the owners live on. Although we share the same land, our Tiny Home is privately yours during your stay and includes a privacy fence that surrounds the hot tub & courtyard; and yet we are close by in case of emergencies. We do live in a neighborhood, which mostly consists of retirees, snow birds, dogs and families. Our mountain views in this beautiful neighborhood will astound you from every window!

We live in the house directly above the tiny home. We honor your privacy so we won't plan to meet you upon your arrival, UNLESS you would like to meet us and we would be happy to come down to say "Hi"! Occasionally we will need to come down to care for the spa, courtyard or to water the flowers, but we will contact you first before to make sure that it's a good time for us to do those things.

Check in is 4:00 PM and Check out is 11:00 AM. THERE IS A $50 LATE FEE per hour for late check out, unless scheduled in advance.

Perfect tiny home in the mountains
Perfect spot in the mountains for a romantic getaway. Shelly does a wonderful job at making it a home away from home, especially with her delicious baked goods. Her cinnamon rolls didn’t even make it through our first night. The tiny home has everything you need during vacation and the hot tub is a great way to unwind after a long day seeing the sights. The tiny home is very clean and Shelly makes sure you have everything thing you need and has prompt response to your questions. I highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

Magical!
We had the best time being cozy during a rainstorm and then later enjoyed grilling outside and being in the hot tub. Everything you could ever need is thought of in this tiny house. What a fun getaway!

Perfect!
This is such a cute place to stay! Everything is exactly as shown and more, it had so many little touches to make you as comfortable as possible. Great location if you’re planning to spend time in Manitou & Colorado Springs. Everything was within about 15-20 min away or less. The cinnamon rolls are as good as everyone says. We enjoyed coffee outside daily, sat on the back patio in the afternoon when it got shade. The hosts are so, so sweet, very responsive but they never intrude. They give you tons of information- read the guide! It helps so much, and way better than many places that don’t tell you where things are or what to expect. One note for those traveling - We had a hard time w space for our suitcases. This is ZERO complaint against the house, it is a tiny house and we knew that. It has tons of places for you to store things. We were on a week long trip and had large suitcases and it took some maneuvering to have those around. We would love to come back. Book it! You won’t regret it.

About the host

I have been happily married for 40+ years, have four adult children and one grandchild. I was a mid-westerner all of my life until recently, when my husband & I decided to become Colorado mountaineers to live near three of our adult children. My current employment is a paraprofessional with my local school district. I am a foodie, love my family & dogs, love a good book and the great outdoors.

I have been a successful Airbnb Super host for the past 4 years and have recently decided to expand my horizon by offering my Tiny Home rental through VRBO as well. (If you wish to see my many outstanding reviews from my Airbnb listing, please do so!) I LOVE hosting and serving people. It is my goal to make my guests feel welcomed and special, and I do all in my power to make this happen.

Why they chose this property

Our Tiny Home is located on Chipita Park Road, sharing the same one acre property that we, the owners live on. Although we share the same land, our Tiny Home is totally private and even includes a privacy fence that surrounds the courtyard; and yet we are close by in case of emergencies. We do live in a neighborhood, which mostly consists of retirees, snow birds and families. Our mountain views in this beautiful neighborhood will astound you from every window!

We are located in the "Front Range" of the Rocky Mountains. We are in a lovely valley, but yet close to many attractions. As our listing description says, we are minutes to CO Springs, Manitou Springs, Woodland Park & Pikes Peak. We have local biking, hiking, & climbing. We are 1-2 hours away from hot springs and skiing. Take a day trip to Salida, Buena Vista, the Royal Gorge, Denver, or Breckinridge.

The beauty of our property is that you are "far enough out" from the city to have the cooler mountain air, views and peacefulness; and yet "close enough" to the city for all conveniences and attractions. Because lodging here is cheaper than resorts, many guests stay with us and "day trip" for skiing, white water rafting, hot springs soaking or bigger city events.
