This tranquil cabin with almost 2 acres is situated on Bear mountain in beautiful, Medicine Park. The property operates primarily on renewable, solar powered energy. You are likely to see frolicking wildlife, nibbling on the native grasses and flowers in the clearing across the way or even right on the property. The views of Mount Scott are spectacular at any hour but especially at sunset.
Have a refreshing swim in picturesque Bath Lake or attend one of Medicine Parks many year round festivals. Peruse the cobblestone shops or take in the live music, often being played in and around town.
You will love dining at the historic Plantation Inn restaurant while you savor the best steak in the area. Look down upon medicine creek at Riverside Cafe while you feed the fish and turtles and devour a delicious buffalo burger. Look over the entirety of the town while you treat yourself to perhaps the best, authentic mexican food you've ever eaten at Tu Familia mexican restaurant up on the hill. It's only a scenic eight or nine mile drive around Lake Latonka to the old west town of Meers. As featured on many television programs, the world famous longhorn Meersburger is a delight you shouldn't leave the area without trying. If pizza is your pleasure, mama Donato's makes it just like my favorite pizzaria on the East coast. There's just no substitute for high quality ingredients and old world recipes. Of course, you could simply stay in and enjoy the solitude of cabin life. A nearby trailhead leads to well maintained trails or you can experience a brief, primitive hike directly behind the cabin which also leads to the trails. When you make it the short distance to the top, you are rewarded with amazing, 360° views to the horizon.
Enjoy shuffleboard, beanbag toss, horseshoes or board games. The kids will never want to leave the game room/bunkhouse while you and yours relax in the great room by the fire or unwind on the balcony. Both have unmatched views of the surrounding mountains.
Other things to do locally:
Within minutes of the Medicine Park Aquarium, Lakes Latonka and Elmer Thomas, Medicine Creek, Bath Lake, Mount Scott, Wichita Mountain Wildlife Preserve and Museum, the Holy City, Parallel Forest and so much more.
Medicine Park is directly next to the wildlife preserve so you can drive through and see American bison, LongHorn Steer, prairie dogs, birds of every sort and color, cactus, waterfalls and many other Flora and fauna.
