About this property

3 level beauty with great views from your front porch. This home features 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a basement. When you walk in you are welcomed by a quaint seating area where you could enjoy your favorite book by the window. Area leads into the dining area nestled next to the wood burning stove and full kitchen. There is an intimate front and back porch with beautiful views. You are within walking distance to the local shops and eateries. Take some time to hike the trails or visit nearby lakes. The residence is just 15 short minutes from Cuchara, home of the stunning Spanish Peak Mountains.

Disclosure: This property is a duplex. There is a shared door on the main floor that will remain locked unless a renter decides to rent out both sides. If entire duplex is rented it can hold a total of approximately 17-20+ people including couches and air mattresses, if need be.

Other details to note: We do not have air conditioning throughout the home, but we do offer an a/c window unit in the main living area to help with the warm of the afternoon. It works great! Opening the bedroom windows in the evening keep sleeping very comfortable.

Great Place to Stay in LaVeta

A group of three of us met in LaVeta for four day reunion at this property. It was perfect for us! The place was clean, beds were comfortable, and kitchen was functional for our needs. We had a great time and would return in a heartbeat! Thanks, Christa, for making this a memorable and fun place to stay!

Perfect Getaway

So much bigger than the description shows! There is room for a large group. The bathrooms are fantastic. Beds are comfortable. Location to Grandote Golf is unbeatable. Quiet area. We will be back for sure!

New owners

The original reservation for our stay in June ‘24 was made in August ‘23. Two weeks before our stay the property was sold to new owners. Old and new owners worked with me to make certain we could cancel and re-book without someone else booking the property in the middle of our process to secure our stay. I believe we were then the first customers for the new owners. That said, there were some concerns we chose to work around knowing that they probably hadn’t had the time to see to all the details of the property. The listing said there was a jacuzzi, but there was not. The mattresses on the beds in the basement space were quite thin and uncomfortable. There was a layer of visible dust on the flue of the wood stove as well as the bottom shelves of the coffee table and the cabinet under the television. The kitchen needed a deep clean, and the stove and oven an even deeper clean. An additional suggestion from our group would be to change the porch lights to motion activated. We neglected to leave the light on when we left for a day up in Cuchara. When we returned after dark, we could not see the keypad for the lock in order to enter the duplex. With hands full of possessions, it was nearly a comedy act as we searched and fumbled around trying to find phones to utilize a flashlight to use the keypad. The duplex is in a good location, easy to get to and convenient to day excursions around the area. It is roomy and very comfortable for our group of 8.
