Love this property
My brothers, Dad, and I had a wonderful week here. The property has a fantastic northern exposure that's great for stargazing. The lake and surrounding terrain are beautiful. The cabin is classic and well cared-for. 10/10 would recommend

Beautiful scenery and privacy
If you like quiet, privacy and scenic lake views, wildlife (beavers, turtles, loons, woodpeckers, humming birds) this is the place for you. Sat has lots of noisy neighbours singing Karaoke and rocking out (til 11:30 pm) but all other nights are quiet. There is no bunk bed, a double instead. The inside is quite rustic (foundation concerns/sloping floors, wonky accordion doors, electricity not to code), the outside is ideal for swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and boating. Would definitely come again. Beds are comfortable and all appliance work great.

Old dilapidated cottage
Some reviewers have described this cottage as rustic. This cottage is not rustic, it is dilapidated. The appliances do function, but the walls, floors, doors, minuscule bathroom, cupboards and fittings are in very poor condition due to age. The walls and floors are extremely old and have tilted in different directions and separated in places. For example, the set of doors in the the East-West interior wall has not tilted down as far as its West end has subsided. The owners have filled the resulting gap between the doors and the door frame on each side with fibre glass insulation, which remains visible and partly coated with paint. Prospective renters should ask for a picture of the bathroom. Other condition flaws are too numerous to mention.

Summer holiday
The owners came by when we arrived and dropped off the homemade bread which was lovely. The road into the cottage is single lane and very rough and scary in places. Don’t arrive after dark!! The cottage is very old and in very poor shape. There are no bunk beds as described in the write up which left us without enough beds and parents bunking with kids. Only one toilet- bathroom is extremely small. There is a leak in the kitchen pipes that leaves a large pool of water on the counter. The fire stove for heating was very challenging. The list of what was expected for us to clean was lengthy including cleaning the oven. So our final day was spent cleaning instead of enjoying the fishing and swimming. We enjoyed fishing, campfires and swimming and kayaking. The kids really enjoyed playing in the woods. It is a beautiful spot and sunsets were spectacular. I would recommend serious repairs before continued rental and no more than 5 people as there isn’t enough seating at the dining table beyond that.

Muskoka Lakefront
Great, great location - literally at the end of the road sticking out into the lake. You will need to carry everything about 30 yards over a small knoll. Not for the wheelchair or mobility challenged folks. Hosts live near by and are super responsive. Busy lake, but a very nice lake with lots of areas to explore. Need to bring your own drinking water and be prepared for a cottage your grandfather used to own in the 60's. Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. No wifi, but excellent cell service as there is a tower at one end of the lake.

A True Cottage
This is a wonderful rustic cottage; all that you need; with charm in spades and a moving history. The property is incredible...rock, trees, water and a little sand. Southern Muskoka scenery! The lake is quite interesting with arms that run off and touching the Queen Elizabeth II Wildland Provincial Park in areas. We canoed the perimeter, a leg a day, during our stay. You do overlook the lake access point across the bay and on summer weekends, it might be busy but September was glorious. The boat of choice...pontoons. The hosts, who cottage on the point of the island just across the channel, are friendly and informative...and their love for this property comes across. All in all, if you're looking for a real cottage experience and like "quirks", this is a gem. We loved our time spent. B&D, Barrie, Ontario

Relaxing getaway on a beautiful natural property
Cottage was very clean despite being an older cottage with a rustic feel. Beautiful large screened in porch area to sit and look out at the lake. The property the cottage sits on is very large with no close neighbours. Most of the lake shoreline is rocks (slippery when wet!), however there is a private small shallow beach at the boat dock which is connected to the cottage by a beautiful short path through the woods. Swimming was great off the rocks or at the beach. Homeowners live close by and are very welcoming. Bring your own drinking water. Will definitely consider coming here again.

Nice But Noisy
Great hosts - very responsive, both before and during. Beautiful setting. Busy lake - noise of the many jet skis and speed boats detract from the tranquility. Not suitable for the mobility challenged (lake access or steps into cabin). Older cabin - sagging floors result in sloping counter tops and cupboard doors jamming. We had a really great time - just be aware of the inconveniences. We'll miss coffee and tea in the mornings on the screened in porch. Thank you June and Paul.

An excellent place for a relaxing vacation
Excellent view, nice host. Once you arrive, you will find a beautiful, cozy rustic cottage, the incomparable smell of wood, leaves and fresh air , the lake with wonderful waves. Is not a luxury cottage, is like grandpa cottage 🤩 something that you want to feel, to smell and enjoy and to keep all these memories in your soul. The kitchen is well equipped. Paul and June gave us a welcome gift, a nice bread and helpful informations. Thank you! We enjoyed every moment!

Great Getaway
Our family (2 adults, 2 boys - ages 6 and 9, and a 6-month old puppy) really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was a good size for us and was very well equipped. We were thankful for the satellite TV, DVDs, and games for the couple rainy days we had. The property was beautiful and was fun for the boys and dog to explore. They especially liked swimming off the rocks and jumping off the dock. They also did some fishing and we took the fishing boat and canoe out for several outings around the lake. My husband and I loved having coffee on the Muskoka chairs and enjoying the view, and having a camp fire in the evenings. The only (small) downsides were 1) groceries/etc. were about a 45min drive away, so we just did one shop for the whole week, and 2) the bugs when we took the dog for walks on the road (they were fine on the property itself), so having OFF with DEET is recommended! A great getaway to nature was just what we needed in the middle of the COVID Pandemic. Thank you so much, Paul!

Couldn’t of wished for more
This little piece of heaven was exactly what I needed! A few friends and I really enjoyed this property! Waking up and being able to go cast and actually catch a few fish before even finishing my morning coffee was absolutely amazing! That’s not even mentioning the views with the wonderful sunrises and beautiful sunsets ! We were even lucky enough to enjoy a thunderstorm on the screened in porch.

Such a classic cottage experience!
I love the sloping rock, windswept pine shorelines of Muskoka/Georgian Bay. This lake has it and this cottage has it in spades. Beautiful. My little girl caught a ton of little bass, sunfish, perch, etc. and I caught a honkin 3 + lb bass - what could be better? Terrific swimming, canoeing, bbq, and nightly fire pit with marsh mellows. So pleasant to sit in the screened front sun room any time of the day. I won't tell you the gorgeous day trips we researched and most thoroughly enjoyed. This cottage may not have the hot tubs or jacuzzis... but it simply is the most wonderful, clean, comfortable "cottage cottage" with all amenities that you will ever find. Please do not rent it as I always want it to be available!

Beautiful setting!
We loved the rocks for lounging and the swimming was great! The canoe was tipsy and the paddleboat not in great shape. The bathroom was a bit rustic but the kitchen was well supplied ( altho a peeler would be helpful) and the main room was comfy. We had a lovely time except for the plentiful mosquitoes (not the hosts fault lol) in this beautiful spot.
