About this property

Our Lake house is located in a small secluded gated community of Turtlehead. We are located on a safe cozy cove with easy access to the main body of Lake Keowee. Boating, Skiing and fishing are readily available immediately off our dock. The house is a very short walk to the dock and the lake, with approximately 20 steps from the house. The lake is also accessible by using a golf cart and a cart path from the driveway directly to the dock. Turtlehead also has a community boat launch with courtesy dock. There is a neighborhood pool right across the street.

The home is great for a multi-generation vacation. Good access for all. Very kid friendly. Three level home, with completely finished lower level. Satellite TV service, with 2 televisions, each with VHS/DVD player.

5 Bedrooms:
1. Large Master Bedroom on main floor, with King Bed, Jacuzzi Tub and Shower.
2. King Bedroom on upper level.
3. Queen Bedroom on upper level with daybed with trundle bed.
4. King Bedroom on lower level.
5. Queen Bedroom on lower level with twin bed plus a set of bunk beds.
Plus an open bunk area on the lower level with 4 sets of bunk beds and twin with trundle.

The main floor has a great open living area containing kitchen and family room. There is a gas fireplace and great windows with views to the lake. A TV with DVD/VCR is available. There is a large kitchen table that seats 10-12. Off the main floor is an open deck with gas grill, and a screened-in porch with table and chairs for comfortable outside eating. Great views of the lake and boat dock.

The upper level has as a sitting area, plus the 2 bedrooms and full shared bath.

The lower level is finished with the 2 bedrooms, full bath, bunk area, air hockey table, Foosball table, and an entertainment area with TV and DVD/VCR. There is a lower deck area with porch swing off the lower level. Views of the lake and boat dock.

Excellent home, had a great time!

Thank you for the excellent stay, the house was great with plenty of room and amazing views of the lake. The kids enjoyed the small beach and dock access.

Great place to stay for a family vacation or reunion

We had a great time on the lake swimming, canoeing and kayaking. We rented a boat for tubing. The house was well equipped with all we needed. The outdoor shower was helpful as we had a large family staying in the basement & the one bathroom was not adequate for all of them. An added plus was the community swimming pool, just across the street. We all had a great time and plan to come again.

Everything about our trip was perfect. The property is so conveient being right on the lake and the layout of the house made everyones stay so convenient. Communication was fast and easy and the house info and instructions were very informative and made the whole process a breeze.

Great Spot on Lake Keowee

What a terrific week we had enjoying the Bain’s lake house. From the great views and the well-appointed home, to the swimming pool just across the street, we can find nothing negative to say. We hope we can return with our family again soon!

Perfect getaway for multigenerations

The property was gorgeous and well stocked with everything we needed as we celebrated our parents 50th anniversary and Easter with all of the kids and grandkids. Plenty of space to spread out within the house. Everyone enjoyed fishing from the dock. Views were gorgeous of Lake Keowee.

Great house for holiday family getaway

This house was perfect! It was very large and had a great layout to support 3 generations of family. The view of the lake every morning at sunrise was breathtaking, as well as the sunset from the fire pit. I have to admit, based on the pictures we were thinking this would be just a typical lake house. However we were pleasantly surprised to see a very bright and open feeling house. We loved it and hope to come back.

Beautiful, large home with access to water on Lake. Keowee, with all of the amenities for an extremely fun, comfortable, and relaxing stay. Excellent Location and Home

We just got home from our week vacation here. We had a wonderful time and made excellent memories that we will cherish! Everyone from all age groups had plenty of things to do to keep busy and no one was bored. The house is located at the northern tip of the lake where all the sight seeing is. We were tucked away enough to feel like we had our own private portion of the lake but not far away from all the action! The house had plenty of room for everyone and everyone felt like they had enough space also all could gather together on the main floor without feeling cramped. We are considering make this our family vacation spot as long as it’s available.

The home was well furnished and met most all of our needs. The dryer was not working initially, but the owner got a repairman there quickly. We loved the view of the lake and the neighborhood pool across the street. We will be back!!

Amazing Trip!

This house and the owners were nothing short of amazing! The house was clean and beautiful. The massive windows overlooked the lake and we sat out on the screened porch for hours at a time. The owners' communication with us was timely and clear. If you are looking for a place for a group of 10-20 it would be hard to imagine finding any place nicer than this one.

we loved being at Bain's lake house a very cozy place! a place where I would be again! very clean everything! It was wonderful to share with my family some of them I had not seen for 14 years and we were all happy to be in this place!

Spacious house with beautiful views.

Very good- would love to go back- could have used two ovens and two refrigerators, but managed. WiFi would have been nice for college students. A fire pit in the front yard would be a great addition, but truly had a wonderful time.

Turtlehead Property, Salem, SC

Our vacation was all we had hoped and more. Everyone loved the location and your lovely, comfortable home. I really can’t thank Nick and Becky Bain enough for sharing this property. Our Grandkids loved fishing off the dock and swimming. We rented a pontoon boat for two days and sightseeing around Lake Keowee was so much fun. We visited a waterfall that had a sandy area that was perfect for all family members. Everyone wants to come back next year. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. I would recommend this property to everyone . It is spacious with awesome views of the lake. Watching the sun come up was a great start for a lot of the family early risers sipping on their morning coffee. just can’t say enough. Thanks thanks thanks!

Wonderful place for an extended family vacation!

This home has a beautiful setting, with great views of the lake from pretty much everywhere. It is nice, but not too fancy, and all of us felt completely comfortable in the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The home is huge and we were able to spread out and have our personal space, while the gathering spots (kitchen/great room/ screened porch/deck) were big enough for large meals and conversation. There is a very nice dock for fishing and swimming, and a small sandy beach, protected from the wake of boats, which was a favorite spot of our 3 year old grandchild. We rented a pontoon boat for a day and explored the lake, swimming and fishing. Lake Keowee is a deep, clear and clean lake, very beautiful. The swimming pool and hot tub were a short walk across the street and a nice change from the lake. We all had a great time! Thank you to the Bains for sharing your home with us!

Our family has enjoyed our lake house for the past 21 years. As our family has grown, (now with grandchildren) we continue to use our lake house for family vacations and reunions. We love boating, fishing and water sports. We live near Atlanta and find the 2 hour drive makes for an easy weekend get-a-way.

Why they chose this property

We did not buy this as a vacation rental, but as a second home, a get-a-way and vacation home for our family and friends. We had known Lake Keowee as a beautiful lake. It has sparkling clean water with peaceful surroundings of the nearby mountains. We are now making it available for a limited number of weeks as a rental vacation home.

What makes this property unique

Our lake house is unique situated at the mouth of a peaceful deep water cove with great access to the main body of Lake Keowee. We are surrounded by several Cliffs Communities with its upscale homes and amenities. Our home can offer either a quiet restful get-a-way, or an active lakefront vacation.
