About the host
Your host

We are Karen & Hardy van Niersen, your hosts at the Riverside Lodge Resort, a Florida Waterfront RV park with Florida cabin rentals in central Florida. And we would like to welcome you to our little paradise. We where born and raised in Germany, but didn't like the cold weather too much, so in 1978 we took a trip to Florida, needless to say we loved it and returned one year later to stay and live in the beautiful Sunshine State. So we ended up in Miami, had a son in 1980, and started with our own plumbing business in 1985. Everything went well, our new business was a success, and our son managed South Dade Plumbing until August 2005.In 2000 we started our new lifestyle by buying our RV and by traveling through the many beautiful states of this country. During this time we had the idea to own an RV Resort one day and ultimately ended up over here. Since march of 2003 my wife Karen and my self, Hardy are working on the idea of turning the prior fish camp which is in a beautiful location, into a Resort where other people from big cities can return to nature and relax. In 2020 we semi retire and our Son Mark and his wife Jessica mostly manage the resort since then.
