Great place

The house is great for a family get together. Lake was very quiet considering it was the week of the 4th of July. Wonderful vacation.

Great week with friends and family!

Riesses Peace delivers again! Great spot with lots of space for our party of 8. Enjoyed the lake by day and ping pong tournaments by night. Close to Bald Mtn, the Sportsman's range, or a paddle on the Kennabago. Quiet private road for morning walks.

Riesses peace

Great location, yard and plenty of space. A bit dated and some maintenance needed.: Sliders onto deck and screens. Suggest a vegetable peeler for the kitchen .. also only one canoe really useable. Docks great.

Amazingly Unique

We had such an amazing time at this property. The hosts were extremely responsive and the house was well maintained and clean. The kitchen is stocked with most of not all of the cook wear you would ever need along with all flatware you could want. This house was extremely unique and was a truly amazing experience. The dock is sturdy and the perfect place to relax during the day or under the stars. There were plenty of things to do at the house including horseshoes, kayak, canoe, ping pong, and so much more. One thing to note is the map image for where the property is, is not actually where it is located. We were trying to plan jet ski rentals for an afternoon on the lake but they are only permitted on Rangeley lake which is not connected. However, the serene private nature of this house and the surrounding lake was better than we could have imagined. Make sure to read the listing closely as the master suite tub/jets are not permitted for guest use. We would absolutely recommend this listing and are looking forward to booking again. This will be a preferred stay for any holiday weekend. 10/10 in all categories.

Great week!

Great week! We owned a camp on Mooselook for over 20 years, so we know the lake and properties really well. This is a great piece of land. No hikes down to the water, relatively flat lot, great dock, access to sunsets from the dock, etc. The house is perfect for a good size family. Basement is damp and those sensitive to mold and mildew might struggle, but the rest of the house is great. it could use some TLC and updating, but that is not really a concern for renters. The indoor screen porch is fantastic. We hope to be able to rent this place next year and really enjoyed our week there. Thank you so much.

Great time

The vacation was great. We had terrible weather, rain and cold for a lot of the week but fortunately the fish were biting right off the dock. This kept the grandkids busy. The house was spacious and comfortable, kitchen was well supplied and we all had a great time.

Summer 2020

We have actually stayed at this property twice now. Once in the fall of 2019 for 3 days and now again at the end of June 2020 for a week. The reason we came back was because we absolutely loved so much about this place but this will be the last time we stay there. The location is 5 stars. The views and privacy 5 stars. The size and set up- 5 stars. Cost- 5 stars. Screened in porch- 5 stars. But it seems pretty evident the owners don't want(or can't) to put any money into this place. The appliances, cabinets, furniture, wall paper, fixtures all seem older than I am. It seems as though there are foundational issues as well. In the fall there was water seeping through the carpet in the basement. We figured it would get fixed by the summer because we told them about it. It wasn't. There were three different, large wet spots on the carpet that stayed there the entire week. In the unfinished side of the basement there was a puddle of water that seeped in that also stayed for the entire week. Once again, this was a problem in the fall they chose not to fix. It appears there was an attempt made to fix the dock but not it is actually just now unsafe. The ramp is completely underwater and there are broken boards and nails sticking into the water. The 'full size' bed upstairs looks like a couple old couch cushions pushed together. There were a couple of piles of discarded wood, grills, trash ect throughout the property. The water from the faucets and showers smells really bad. So much we had to get our own gallons for water for cooking and drinking. Perhaps the worst part was that when we used the upstairs Jacuzzi water came flooding through the ceiling into the kitchen. I mean FLOODING. I think we soaked about 20 bath towels trying to dry it all up. The maintenance man came and said they thought they fixed it in the fall but that it has been a problem in the past. It is a real shame because we absolutely love so much about this place. Like I said we came back, assuming these issues would be fixed or at least addressed. The people at Morton and Furbish are the absolute best and this is nothing against them. If you are looking to grab a large lakefront house on a budget this is it but just beware it is far from perfect.

A great place to stay!

House was large, clean, and well stocked with towels, dish soap, tp, cookware, basically all the things you might not think to bring on vacation. The property easily accomodated my group of 8, but multiple couples might dislike that there are 2 large (king/queen) beds and the rest are singles. Greatly enjoyed the waterfront and dock, as well as the ping pong table! Thanks a ton!

Exceeded my expectations!

What a great home to rent! It had everything we needed. You can tell the owners take good care of it. Could not ask for more, from the location, to the lake, to the house itself. We will be back
