Pure perfection

This was the best VRBO we have ever stayed at. Jay and Kathy are such wonderful gracious hosts. The house is incredible and the views make you feel like you are in Europe. It you are coming to the lake this is the place to stay.

Invasive, Unsafe, and Deceptive Host - Avoid This Rental!**

ZERO STARS!!! My experience at this VRBO rental was truly terrible. I booked this home to celebrate my 40th birthday, with the owner’s explicit permission to host guests for the occasion. Unfortunately, the entire experience was ruined by the host's appalling and invasive behavior. First, the listing was misleading. It advertised three bedrooms, but there were only two. That was just the beginning. The owner *entered the property without permission* while my guests were inside, took photos of them while they were sleeping, and then began yelling at us to leave and kicked us out. It was a deeply disturbing violation of privacy and left us feeling unsafe. The host and his family actually *live* in the home, which was never made clear. The house was cluttered with their belongings, and the fridge and freezer were packed with their food. Instead of feeling like a vacation rental, it felt as though we were intruding on someone’s personal space. Throughout the stay, the host harassed me with stressful texts. Even after we left, he continued to badger me with messages. On top of this, he tried to extort extra money, demanding money per guest above what we had agreed on. I have written proof of our original agreement, but he blatantly lied and attempted to get more money after the fact. This host showed a complete disregard for privacy, safety, and decency. If you value any of these things, *do not stay here*. What should have been a beautiful birthday turned into a nightmare.

This house was amazing!

You could not ask for a better view! Everything was above and beyond our expectations! There was champagne and glasses waiting for us, along with a board of cheese, crackers, grapes, etc. Fresh flowers in so many cute places here and there. I could go on and on, but don't want to spoil your experience. The outside was amazing with so many places to sit and relax. Highly recommend!

40th Anniversary Get Away!!

What you see with the pictures is what you get... perfection!! Jay and Kathleen are the perfect hosts, the only time we bumped into them was in the driveway and upon our departure. Plenty of treats and snacks are provided and the view is worth it all. While away for the day on a biking adventure they snuck a 40th anniversary dessert into the fridge. A pleasant surprise. If our travels take us to this location again, a return visit is a must!!

The Best VRBO Property and Hosts

What an incredible home. Jay and Kathy are simply the best hosts ever!! We enjoyed every moment. The property is situated in just the right spot with the most amazing views that are truly unforgettable. Every room in this fantastic home is so comfortable and classy. Best Ever

From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with water and a tour of the property. Jay and Kathleen have worked hard to make sure your stay is the best it can possibly be. This was our first VRBO experience and frankly we’re concerned we have now been completely spoiled and anything after this will be a huge disappointment, J&K we’re the best and we have already planned coming back. We just wanted to stay, it was so hard to leave!

Best VRBO experience we’ve ever had!

Lake Song Estates is amazing and beyond even what the pictures show and Kathy and Jay were wonderful! While they were clear they would give us complete privacy if that was what we wished, we thorough enjoyed getting to know them so that by the end of our visit they weren’t just our hosts but had become our good friends! They are people of amazing thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity. Our family’s visit to their beautiful home ranks as the best VRBO stay we’ve ever had in over 10 years of using these type of accommodation services for our traveling and vacation needs. We hope to return as soon as we are able for another visit! Loved Coeur d’Alene, loved Lake Song Estates and loved meeting and getting to know Jay and Kathy! Cannot recommend enough!!!

Paradise

This was the most exquisite VRBO we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying! The hosts were so accommodating and thoughtful. Our stay has EVERY comfort of our home; chilled and room temp bottled water, chocolate treats, muffins, cookies, bath robes, slippers, beach towels, quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash, plush blankets, laundry detergent and dryer sheets. It was pristine and had every kitchen appliance and spice possible. We cooked and entertained our local friends and the host made sure all the patio furniture was wiped down before their arrival. So thoughtful! The view was breathtaking, better than the photographs. I recommend this stay 1000%! I was not sure how it might be with the hosts on site, but we never really saw them and knew if we needed anything, they would be right there to help! It was wonderful!

Beautiful and Welcoming Romantic Getaway

I booked this stay for my brother and his wife. They were enchanted by the breathtaking views, wonderful hospitality and delicious wine. They recently had a baby and were in serious need of some time to relax and recharge, there couldn't have been a more perfect location then the Lake Song Property with the most considerate hosts! Whether you are looking for a relaxing romantic getaway or a gathering with your friends and family this property is highly recommended! We will definitely be booking here in the future!

Unbelievable Stay

There are usually only 2 reasons most people leave a review and that is either they had an absolutely fantastic experience or a really bad one and sadly, I fall in that category. But, I had to take a few minutes to leave a review because our stay at Jay & Kathy's property was one we will never forget. When we arrived we were greeted by Jay and he took time out of his day to show us around and give us the tour. We were in awe of the hospitality they both gave us which was above and beyond either of us have ever experienced at a VRBO property. We were 2 professionals looking for a few relaxing days and I don't think we could have found a better property to achieve that. The home and grounds are immacutely cared for and designed to make you feel like you are at home. On top of having a beautiful place to stay, we made some new friends. They took us out on their boat, brought food and drinks and we had such a wonderful time visiting we went back to the house and invited them to sit out with us on the patio. I can't say enough about how wonderful our trip was and we will definitely be back! I know there are some comments about the owners living on a wing of the house. Let me assure you that they never once invaded our privacy but were always available if we ever needed anything which was so nice. But, if you ever wanted to get to know them more than staying at their property you wouldn't be disappointed. Thank you, Jay & Kathy for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home.

AMAZING GETAWAY

I brought my partner, daughter and best friend to stay for Memorial weekend to catch up and relax (very hard for me to do). It was an initial shock to the system that the owner's live and remain onsite as my search filter was set for full house but they were absolutely fantastic. Their home is beyond anything I could have hoped for and they stay in a separate area that is tucked away. The owner's gave us wonderful dinner recommendations and were delightful to interact with the few times that we did. All of us were able to truly relax and enjoy their cozy home with incredible views! There were a couple of things off on my phone's version of VRBO versus the website we discovered after our stay. For example, the check-in time was 4pm not 3pm. 3pm shows on the phone version. I suspect that is what led to the "whole house" confusion. But again, we would do it all over again and the owner's are fantastic! I truly feel like the owner's have done their best to disclose everything...VRBO issue?

Entering rental space unannounced

I very much enjoyed Kathleen and Jays hospitality. Although, I was not fully aware that they would enter and exit using the garage and enter in the space we rented to enter to the apartment. Everyone felt uncomfortable as they popped in unannounced a Couple of times. I did laundry at 11pm and he came in announced to check laundry. Definitely an invasion of privacy and the spa hot tub is in front of the host apartment so it was a challenge of trying to enjoy our weekend but feeling uncomfortable and uneasy host being able to come in as they please without notice or knock or call.

Lovely home with magnificent view

We stayed at Jay and Cathy’s house Easter weekend. I was stunned by the beautiful view. Jay and Cathy are amazing hosts. They even had a charcuterie tray for us in the fridge. The house is beautiful and I cannot say enough about the view of Lake Couer D’Alene. Everything we could have wanted and more. The hosts do live on the property but they aren’t intrusive. I really want to live there forever!

Stunning view, beautiful home, perfect getaway!

Amazing hosts, gorgeous views, beautiful home, perfect getaway!! We had the most wonderful weekend at Jay and Kathy’s residence. They are incredible hosts and go above and beyond to make you feel completely at home. They respond promptly to questions and are there quickly if you need anything! Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are wonderful. There are so many nooks to explore. We were thrilled when we got there and saw how amazing the property was. I can’t say enough wonderful things. Wonderful place!

This is a great property with million dollar views. It is very quiet and peaceful. My family loved it. It is the best-appointed vrbo I have ever stayed at. The hosts made a lot of effort to anticipate their guests' needs. One thing that I don't recall seeing in the ad is the fact that the hosts also live on the property in an attached portion of the house. It was not a problem for us but some guests would want to know that in advance. Overall it was excellent and we would definitely stay there again. Thank you so much to our hosts!

OWNER MISREPRESENTED CONDITION OF PROPERTY

Property was in the middle of a remodel upon our arrival. Piles of materials inside front door, lights hanging from the ceiling, plywood floor in den, ram board paper on floor, light fixtures and outlets with no covers, hazardous transitions between flooring, a temporary stove but with no exhaust, incomplete patio, no key to lock the front door and no lock for door between our living space and the owners. We were stunned and appalled that the owners had not revealed the true condition of the property.

Getaway to Couer d'Alene Idaho

A special thanks to Jay and Kathy for sharing their home and their incredible hospitality. The location, view, comfort of their home and all the amenities were just suberb. The view is second to none, and if it is your desire to geataway and experience some solitude and quiet, this is the perfect property. As I mentioned the view earlier, the lake is just beautiful and is visble throughout the living area of their home. Highly recommend. Thank you both again for your generosity and sharing. If you are vacationing to see the beauty of Coeur d Alene, this property is the one to stay. We have a view of Lake Coeur d Alene that is unseen from any other point on the lake. You will be staying in an Estate that boost of 4000 sq ft of large windows and patios viewing the lake. If you are reading, grilling, having smores' at the fire pit or spending time in the spa, the view will always be there for you to enjoy. We are located in an up-scale neighborhood which is very quiet and private. The distance to downtown is a quick 15 to 20 minutes. We purchase this year around home with several things in mind. We needed to have a view of water. We wanted a large property of 2.5 areas or more. We wanted a home with comfort and upscale luxury. We found it and bought it. The last 30 years we have worked very hard to make it even more charming. We have hosted guests since 2012 and have enjoyed every day of our experience.
