Mare Blu is considered to be one of the most luxurious high-style, relaxing and private villas on the island of St. John. St. John is believed by many to be the most beautiful of the USVIs, if not the most beautiful island in all of the Caribbean.

The Space:
Mare Blu Villa was built on a hill above the turquoise waters of Rendezvous Bay, looking south, with scenic views that stretch from the east end of St. John to St. Croix.

Style & Luxury: Mare Blu's great floor plan, superb design, lighting, and finishes distinguish this spectacular villa overlooking Rendezvous Bay. Built in four spacious pavilions linked together by generous outdoor living spaces, the sparking pool and tropical gardens, Mare Blue offers full air conditioning throughout the villa. Its excellent floor plan is designed so that all of the home's living space and pool is on one level. Six large bedroom/bath suites, a stunning indoor gourmet kitchen flanked by an outdoor kitchen dining and sitting area, and a beautifully-decorated Great Room and loggia are just a start at Mare Blu.

6 Bedroom Suites for the Ultimate in Privacy: Mare Blu has six large bedroom/bathroom master suites, two located at pool level, three on the garden level and one in the pavilion above the grand veranda. All bedroom suites are beautifully furnished, air conditioned hideaways that take full advantage of their picturesque location. All the suites have Smart televisions with cable. Bathrooms have double vanities, showers, and are tiled in grey granite from floor to ceiling. The Orange suite features an alfresco shower, Yellow a semi-alfresco shower and the Pink suite also offers a bathtub.

Incredible & Well Appointed Living & DIning Areas: All of the villa's living space is on the main level of the pavilion. The Great Room, with two seating areas, provides a 62" Smart TV with Cable, DVD, movies, games & game table. Adjacent, the gourmet kitchen leaves nothing to be desired, even by the most discerning of gourmet cooks. Well stocked with a large variety of glassware, stemware, dinnerware & cookware, the kitchen is equipped to feed the masses with its top of the line stainless steel appliances, including a 3-door refrigerator/freezer, standard oven, microwave/convection oven and two dishwashers. Sliding glass pocket doors lead from the indoor kitchen to its outdoor kitchen providing easy service to the alfresco dining room & includes a professional gas grill, 2nd oven, icemaker & generous countertop space. The dining room joins the covered outdoor living room resulting in one expansive outdoor living space with awesome ocean views as well as a 62" Smart TV. With an abundance of outdoor seating and lounging furniture this space is the true heart of the Villa!

Perfect family vacation at Mare Blu on St. John

Our family of ten, ages six months to sixtyish, enjoyed a perfect week on St. John at beautiful Mare Blu! This our first visit with the whole family since The hurricanes. It was gratifying to see that nature prevails as does the spirit of the people of St. John. We spent perfect days at Hawksnest, Francis, Trunk and our favorite Maho Bay with its turtles! We also added a new beach to our list, Hansen. Dinners at Morgan's Mango and lunches at The Tap Room and Skinny Legs were fun and delicious. Everyone loved Mare Blu! The villa is beautifully designed: elegant with attention to every detail yet comfortable and accommodating. There are spacious living areas, indoors and out, lovely bedrooms, some with screened verandas and outdoor showers, all with splendid views looking out toward St. Croix. The well equipped kitchen and outdoor dining area were great for our breakfasts and some dinners. The swimming pool was wonderful for the children in the late afternoons and illuminated our evenings sometimes inviting late night swims. The location of the villa was private and quiet yet a convenient drive to Cruz Bay and the beaches. Mare Blu would definitely be our first choice for a return stay on St. John with our family or some friends.

Fantastic house

My family loved Mate Blu. There are 12 of us, and the house was perfect for us. It is designed so everyone has space and the outdoor living area is winderful. We ate all our dinners there, and spent of our house time there. Tori, the local manager, was always available to help with any problem. She checked in with us often. We have been to St John 9 times, and this was the best ever! I would highly recommend Mare Blu.

Mare Blu is simply stunning and serene.

"Mare Blu provided a beautiful, serene setting for our recent 50th anniversary celebration with family. The manager met us promptly upon arrival and made us immediately feel at home. The villa was luxurious and so well-appointed that it would be difficult to want anything more. The large outdoor dining and indoor living areas created an atmosphere in which our family was able to enjoy memorable conversations and meals together without interruptions. And, the opportunity to enjoy a cup of early-morning coffee on the patio or to swim under the stars in a pool overlooking the ocean was priceless. The downside of this trip was that it was far too short. A week just wasn't long enough to fully experience the beautiful scenery and uncrowded beaches that St. John has to offer. Teri was wonderful to work with prior to, and during, our stay. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family, and for providing many helpful shopping and restaurant suggestions. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

Perfect place to stay for a dream vacation!!

Mare Blue was the perfect spot for us to vacation with friends and family -- absolutely stunning views of Rendezvous Bay in a quiet and convenient location. The residence was fantastic with all the amenities we could hope for: lovely modern home, gorgeous infinity pool, spacious private bedrooms and bathrooms, full kitchen and outdoor gas grill, 2 washer/dryers. Teri and Bernie were very hospitable and helpful throughout the whole experience, always available when we had questions, even when it was just a suggestion for a great restaurant! Will definitely return for the next trip to St. John and would absolutely recommend to anyone for a truly wonderful vacation experience.

Best vacation rental ever!!!!!

Our extended family (13 of us) were looking for a great place to celebrate my Father's 75th birthday and my wife was lucky enough to stumble across the Mare Blue website. The spectacular pictures on the web site convinced us that this would be a perfect location, but believe me that they can't come close to capturing the true beauty and magic of this wonderful villa. We had committed to rent the villa and the transaction was completed, but once the owner knew that the entire trip was to celebrate my father's birthday, she was so helpful and kind; she basically became our travel agent and helped make all the plans as simple as possible for us. We had such an unbelievable stay at the Mare Blue. The views are amazing, and the house is spectacular. We couldn't have asked for more. My children and my sister's children will forever remember our wonderful trip to St. John and we dream of a return to the Mare Blue. Thank you Teri & Bernie.

Ultimate Relaxation!

I stayed at Mare Blu with my boyfriend and our friends the week of July 4, 2015. It was truly the trip of a lifetime. Walking in to the house for the first time is almost (almost) the best part: the expansive view of the Caribbean, the huge infinity pool, and the numerous amenities Mare Blu has to offer will take your breath away. We spent a while walking around the property and taking everything in—before jumping in the pool! Our stay in St. John was the perfect mix of activity and relaxation. We made trips to several beaches, went on some beautiful hikes, and spent more than a few happy hours in Cruz Bay. Having Mare Blu as a home base to return to was always such a great feeling. Couples could retreat to their bedroom suites for privacy, or we could socialize in the great room or in the veranda by the pool. The space is perfectly constructed to allow for both togetherness and alone time. Reading a book by the pool was my favorite activity, while my boyfriend enjoyed watching sports from the pool (yes—the pool faces the ocean on one side and a large-screen TV on the other!). We even spent a couple of days just relaxing at the house all day and cooking at home. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare full meals; you will not want for anything while at Mare Blu. We played poker from the games provided, watched movies while floating in the pool, and made pina coladas to sip on while we cooked on the grill. This trip was nothing short of magical, and Mare Blu’s opulent yet relaxed atmosphere played a large part in our experience. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for our wedding!!!

The unsung hero award for our wedding goes to Teri and Mare Blu. Not only did it make for the most picturesque backdrop for our wedding ceremony but our guest were in awe at how beautiful and functional the villa was. Location was perfect for the sunset wedding ceremony as well as easy access to and from for our guests staying in and around Cruz Bay. Teri was not only active making sure the villa was in perfect condition for our visit but she was also a great resource for the months leading up to the wedding with recommendations for reliable jeep rental (Mr. Piper's) and restaurant recommendations. The layout of the space was ideal for any situation. We were able to host a 23 person rehearsal dinner with a long family style table in the great outdoor space. My brothers roasted us with a slideshow on the TV by the pool. All were able to huddle around and observe. Then we also hosted a 37 person ceremony down on the lawn. The on island manager was personable and supportive when we had questions. I will try to post photos of the wedding when I receive the official photos.

Mare Blu is amazing! Expectations were exceeded!

You often wonder if it can be as great as the pictures. Mare Blu is amazing. The views would make any postcard jealous. The bedrooms were spacious with their own luxurious bathrooms. The outdoor entertainment areas and the infinity pool made it hard to leave to go explore the spectacular island of St. John. Our week at Mare Blu with dear friends will top the list of vacations of a lifetime. We say that with all sincerity as frequent global travelers. The owners checked with us prior to and during our stay. Our satisfaction was a priority for them. The concierge service/property management company was excellent. The quality construction of the home itself was impressive. Every need is provided in terms of kitchen ware, towels, etc. Mare Blu is world class!

Simply Amazing

Our last family vacation was 26 years ago but our trip to Mare Blu was well worth the wait. As we walked down the steps to the villa it got very quiet and the family members just looked at each other. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. The view was absolutely spectacular.Then 7 kids jumped into the pool and our vacation began. The pictures that you see on line show how beautiful the villa is, but they do not show the warmth and coziness that is Mare Blu. It is so spacious that even though there were 7 adults and 7 teens we all had our privacy and didn't ever get in each others way. But with the fabulous layout we were also together. I hope that makes sense. Our mornings were spent having breakfast together at the outdoor table with some relaxing in the pool and others reading along side it. We ate in every night thanks to my sons in law who are closeted chefs and the well appointed kitchen. The location of Mare Blu is just perfect. We were close to the beaches and the town but away from the bustle of both. Our host Teri had mentioned that we might find that we wanted to stay at the villa and she was right. While the snorkelers of the group went exploring the beaches the lazy ones relaxed at the villa and never felt deprived. We will not wait another 26 years to go on vacation together. And when we get back to St John we will only stay at Mare Blu.

Elegantly Comfortable & Amazing!

Where to begin?? Mare Blu is absolutely beautiful. There's not one square foot that isn't perfectly decorated as well as functional! The kitchen (inside and outside) is completely stocked with any & everything you could possibly want...Suitable for a chef! The bedrooms are all so roomy and the decor is unbelievable! Loved the bathrooms too...very spacious!! The pool area and sitting area by the outside dining table were our two most favorite hangouts!! The description of Mare Blu for us is clearly Elegantly Comfortable!! This home could not have been more perfect for our group of 6 couples! The BEST 50th birthday a girl could ever have!! Great House!... Great Island!... Great Time!

Mare Blu was the perfect home for our families to enjoy while at St. John. We had the opportunity to bring our friends and their kids to St. John for their first visit to the island. Teri & Bernie were tremendously helpful upfront and their advice was extremely helpful and accurate. Their home was laid out perfectly for our two families and kids(6 kids under the age of 10). We had plenty of room to spread out but there is also great outdoor space to hang out together. The outdoor kitchen and pool area is perfect for families to enjoy meals and to just hang out and relax. They truly thought out everything when they designed the layout. We were very pleased with the location as well. It was a short drive to town and to the North Shore beaches. Their property manager was also very accommodating while we were there. We arrived almost 6 hours late due to travel issues and they kindly did a quick store run for us so that we had the essentials for the kids breakfast the following morning. Overall we really had a dream vacation with our children and made many wonderful memories while staying at Mare Blu. We will definitely be back!! Yoho Family Wharton Family Deb

WOW!

We were looking for a week away with our children and 4 grandchildren. We enjoy getting away together to grow our relationships through quality time together. We found Mare Blu on the internet and it looked like the perfect spot. We had always wanted to visit St. John. After speaking with Teri and feeling the warmth of her concern for our family to just kick back and enjoy, we were hooked. The day we arrived, we were met by Justin, the friendly property manager, who greeted us at the Cruz Bay Dock and delivered us to Mare Blu. During our stay he responded quickly to any issues, answered questions and offered suggestions. Mare Blu is by far the most wonderful vacation home ever with the incredible views of Rendezvous Bay, along with water toys, beach towels, beach chairs, a fully supplied kitchen, table settings for the 10 of us when eating in, poolside lounges, pool activities and movie videos watched on a 52 inch screen. When we had spoken with Teri she said "just pack your bathing suits and sunscreen" and she was right. We enjoyed plenty of time to reflect together on each day's activities, quiet moments with a good book or the kids texting their friends. Just living the "good life" all week long and dreading the ride with Justin back to the dock and eventually the plane ride home. We hope to return again!

Spring Break Heaven

This villa was the absolute perfect place to share our spring break with our friends. A bird's-eye view of Rendezvous Bay made a beautiful backdrop for my morning coffee and relaxing with a book around the pool. Our kids had plenty of room to spread out, swim and enjoy movies in the outdoor television area. Mare Blu's perfectly stocked kitchen allowed us to enjoy breakfast, lunch and frozen blended cocktails each day. Thanks to Teri and her crew for their lovely hospitality. Mare Blu is 5 star!

Smartly designed, spacious, luxurious...Mare Blu has it all.

The week I recently spent with friends at the Mare Blu Villa was one of the best vacations I’ve ever taken. Tucked away in a private corner of Rendezveau Bay, Mare Blu is just a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay, balancing accessibility and convenience with lavish seclusion. With six bedrooms and nearly 10,000 square feet of space, the resort comfortably accommodated our group of seven guests. I found the villa to have everything we needed, and we even elected to spend a couple days of our 8-day trip hanging out at Mare Blu instead of going to one of the many neighboring beaches. Among the many smartly designed areas of the villa, I found the pool area to be my favorite part the house. With a fridge, ice machine and HDTV located in an outdoor lounge area, we had access to everything we needed just a few steps away from the pool. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and uniquely themed with some of the rooms boasting outdoor showers. We cooked dinner several nights in the kitchen, which had modern top-of-the line appliances and a cozy outdoor dining area. Mare Blu really has it all, and I echo the other reviews when I say you will not be disappointed. It's the ultimate Carribean resort and the ideal way to spend your vacation in St. John.

Opulence

I went to Mare Blu Villa for a week with my friends, and it just blew all my expectations away. I had seen the pictures on the internet, and expected the place to be good. But this place was perfect in every way. It is an amazing villa that has an awesome view of Rendevous Bay with all the facilities you can possibly need when you’re on vacation. Whether you want to doze off on the floats, watch TV in the pool, or have dinner in the outdoor dining room, Mare Blu has it all! Each bedroom is like a room in a five-star hotel, everything is new and made from the best materials. It’s located a short drive away from the main town on the island and getting places was easy by car. Everything that St. John has to offer - lots of sun, uncrowded beautiful beaches, hiking and snorkeling, and enjoying a nice cocktail with a fabulous view – is complemented and made better by having your own luxurious place to make the experience perfect. Mare Blu Villa is the ideal candidate for such a place.

Perfection!

If we were told we could use only one word to describe our experience at Mare Blu, it would be "perfect"! The owners have successfully incorporated the beauty, colors, and cheerfulness of the Carribean in every room of this incredibly thought-out house. Comfort and uniqueness abound in the decor-each room is amazingly private, yet ther are incredible open and inviting areas for gatherings, all with the most incredible views. Every detail has been provided for, and once you've done a little grocery shopping, you literally do not ever have to leave the house! The location is a huge plus-most everything is within easy driving distance. Magnificent!

Friends and I spent my 40th Birthday week celebration at Mare Blu and it was more than we ever expected!! St. John is my favorite Caribbean spot and this house tops all other stays in the past (villas, Caneel Bay, locations on St. Thomas) It was a shame that we didn't have more people (we had 6) because we wanted to share the experience with the rest of our friends! The house is amazing with every amenity (we couldn't think of anything we were missing, except maybe a firepit - haha, danger!). A fabulous view, convenient to town. We fell in love with Mare Blu and will definitely be back!! No question. Teri, the owner was great to work with. I miss it so much - I'm ready for St. John again!

Your own private resort!!

St. John has been our favorite vacation spot for many years, but this was our first home rental. It was beyond our expectations! We highly recommend Mare Blu - every detail thought of for your maximum comfort, and an exceptional view from every room. Our family did not want to leave & can't wait to get back. You will be well taken care of by the property managers/staff and the owners are truly interested in guests enjoying their home. An easy drive to any place you might want to go, but you won't want to leave often or for very long! This is a very special gathering spot for a family or a group of friends. Perfection In Every Way!

My husband and I stayed at Mare Blu with friends in Jan., 2011. Absolutely unbelievable! Brand new and immaculate. Luxury in every creative, contemporary detail from bedding to the kitchen dishes and accessories to the candles. I felt like I had overindulged on a shopping spree to West Elm and Williams Sonoma! Spectacular views of Rendezvous Bay from every room, including the bathrooms with their indoor and outdoor showers! Great location with Cruz Bay 10 min. down the hill and the National Park the same distance up the hill. Expensive, but for a six bedroom estate with so much class, it is worth every penny. Also, the owners offer a fair deal of basing the rate on the number of bedrooms rented. We sat in the no chlorine infinity pool watching a gorgeous sunset on one side of the pool and the NFL playoffs on the other. Since the Saints were losing, it helped that we could grab a beer out of the refrigerated drawer under the TV four steps from the pool. See what I mean about thoughtful details?!!

Spectacular!

I'm just looking over the photo album of my daughter's wedding, last August, and Mare Blu was the absolute hilghlight of our week. We hosted 25 people every evening for a party where everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We were able to do our own cooking, the views are breathtaking, and most of the guests just wanted to hang around the pool. The Westin Hotel took care of the wedding ceremony and reception but everything else was at Mare Blu. It would be my first choice for vacation or any kind of celebration at anytime of the year. We remain so grateful to the owners of the house for their generosity - it was even more spectacular than we imagined and one of the highlights of our entire lives! Since 6 couples chipped in, the cost was much less than the local hotels and we didn't have to eat out every night. My family will definitely go back to St. John, specifically for Mare Blu.

Blue Sky, Blue water and Mare Blu

We stayed at Mare Blu with several friends and do not think it could have more perfect. The villa is a short distance to town where we found great places to eat and shop. The ocean views are spectacular from all the rooms and the outside living area. The kitchen is very special with every convenience imaginable. There are many special decorative details throughout the complex that are tastefully done to capture a modern yet tropical theme. The pool is definitely special and I really like the no chlorine water. If you want to relax, and enjoy St John in a very unique setting, then Mare Blu is the perfect place.

You will never want to leave Mare Blu!

Pictures can't do this fabulous Villa justice! Everything is absolutely perfect from the amazing lounge chairs by the infinity pool to the decor and artwork this contemporary villa is made for relaxation in the best of style. The bedrooms are super comfortable, linens are plush, each bedroom has its own private bath and doors you can open to feel the ocean breezes. The kitchens, both outdoor and indoor are expertly stocked with all necessities. The entertainment system is great and adds to the overall experience. One of our favorite things about Mare Blu is that from every room and the patio the view of the Caribbean is spectacular. We can't say enough about the vacation we had at Mare Blu. As if the fabulous house and great location on St. John isn't enough, the ladscaping is awesome too, we even had fresh limes from the tree in our drinks. No detail is forgotten here - we highly recommend this property.

The coolest contemporary villa on St John

We stayed at Mare Blu to celebrate my twin daughters' birthday. We could not have imagined a more perfect setting for a celebration! The villa is a convenient drive to town, nestled on the lush hillside of St John's South Shore. The pictures do not lie, there are vast ocean vistas available from every room. Mare Blu is nothing like the typical St John villa (we've seen many of them personally): it is vibrantly decorated with rich color and artwork. Every room is different and so comfortable; the owners have thoughtfully detailed the home with unique touches that made entertaining fun and easy. On the day of the party, we had a group of kids and their parents. Everyone was amazed with the house and the layout. The kids were loving the pool, and made the veranda a makeshift dance floor! The kitchen/great room allowed for a lively gathering, while the bedrooms were removed and provided quiet privacy. A perfect getaway for groups, active families, sedentary families (you may never want to leave!), everyone!
