The James Gott Carraige House is the perfect Rockport luxury vacation home. .This fully renovated three bedrooms with sleeping den vacation home (sleeps up to 9 people) offering luxurious high end appliances, finishes and furnishings while remaining very comfortable and accommodating. This home will provide you with the ultimate Rockport experience. Park your car and walk to all that Rockport has to offer. Restaurants, shops, beaches and the Shalin Liu Center. Take a walk along the Atlantic Path which winds along the water's edge to Rockport Harbor. Less than half a mile to Front Beach with beautiful sandy beach and bath house. This house is located across the street from Rockport Harbor with views from front bedrooms. Enter into the open concept first floor living room. The perfect spot for relaxing and socializing. Pass through the dining area into the gorgeous granite kitchen with large center island, five burner gas stove and half bath off Mudroom. All the conveniences you may require. The second floor has the master bedroom suite (Queen) w/private bath. A den with futon, 40 inch TV and second bath. Third floor has second master (Queen), laundry, half bath and bedroom with a full and twin bed. Private backyard with gas grill patio dining area shaded by a pergola and ancient wisteria. Two off street parking spaces ( in tandem).

Excellent location and a very nice house in beautiful Rockport.

We really enjoyed our stay at Rockport. The house is excellent with everything you need. Location is fabulous and just a short walk to town. Check in and communication could be improved. We hadn’t received a door code so I sent a message the day before but didn’t receive a reply. When we arrived another group was checking into one of the other houses on the property and they did have a code. For a brief period we were worried that there was a double booking. I eventually got in contact with Jonathan and all was resolved. Other than this small issue, we had a great time and would recommend the accommodation.

The picture looked as though the property was right on the water when , in reality, it was across the street. The property outside was beautiful and the house was spacious with plenty of room for 5 adults. Definitely would stay again.

Wonderful place to stay

The entire experience was one of the best I've had with VRBO. The communication with the owners was easy and efficient; entry to the house straightforward; instructions and information extensive; and the house was exquisitely clean. Everything worked and the house was charmingly decorated. A bonus was that we could see the sea - a perfect location.

Wonderful vacation home

We have stayed here 4 times and each time has been a great experience. The house is well situated for us, everything in the center of Rockport is a short walk away. We love coming to Rockport and staying at The Barn. Everything is clean and welcoming and the hosts are very responsive. Our stay is always too short and we hope to be back next summer.

East Coast Vacation Paradise

Property was well appointed with everything neede fir a very comfortable stay. The kitchen was great as we cooked meals at the property. The bathrooms were situated at udeal locations. The room on the second floor with the futon was declared the man cave by the children. The common spaces allowed for comfortable relaxation when needed. There was access to three seperate outdoor spaces and we made use of them all. The location of the property was ideal for easy access to beaches, the Neck and the Headlands. We would certainly look at using this property again if visiting Rockport with family.

Rockport summer vacation

We are familiar with Cape Ann and have stayed at a home in Gloucester few times. This time we decided to stay in Rockport. This carriage house was perfect for us. There were six of us but seven would have fit fine as well. The location is perfect for walking to all the shops, restaurants and two nearby beaches. Our favorite beach is Wingaersheek though so we drove there. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved both outdoor seating areas. The flowers in the yard are just gorgeous!

Great location in near Bearskin Neck

We have stayed at this property many times and it never disappoints. It is well maintained and spotless. The locations is ideal and close to all the shops and restaurants. It is a short walk to Back Beach too. The property offers plenty of space to relax both indoors and out. I guess the best thing to say about it is that we have already booked it again for next summer!

Stunning home!

The photos didn’t do this property justice. It was absolutely beautiful and clean home and right literally across the street from the ocean. Would absolutely stay there again. The only trouble we had was the dryer wasn’t cooperating. Very clear directions were given for everything we needed within the home as well for the neighborhood.

Terrific Property in a Wonderful Location

This is a superb property that has been remodeled and updated and is very comfortable. Another significant, positive feature is the proximity to the center of Rockport. Bearskin Neck, Brothers Brew, the Shalin Liu, restaurants and beaches are all within a walk of less than 5 minutes. Parking is accommodated well on-site -- that is a huge plus in Rockport! Our stay enhanced by the timely, friendly and helpful responses from Jonathan to a couple of questions. Highly recommend this property!

Wonderful house in Rockport

We are Jon and Ellie and we welcome you to be our guests at The James Gott Homestead. I was born and raised on the North Shore while Ellie was raised in coastal Maine. We have lived and traveled throughout the United States but we have always been drawn back to the beautiful town of Rockport MA.

Why they chose this property

After spending almost two years searching for the right property we were shown the James Gott Homestead in the dead of winter and we fell in love. Drawing on the experiences we had renting vacation homes for our family over the years we tried to design the "best " summer vacation rental. We have renovated two of the four units into beautiful, luxury comfortable family vacation rentals. Two different buildings each with its own unique charm and character but each very Rockport.

What makes this property unique

This is a very unique home. We are located right downtown on the 4th of July parade route yet, we have a beautiful flower filled back yard that is a very peaceful and tranquil oasis. This unit has two off street parking spaces. We have two beautiful sandy beaches less than a half mile stroll from your back door, we provide a cart for beach chairs coolers and other beach necessities. There is also a parking pass for Long Beach and Cape Hedges Beach.
