Helen is the 3rd greatest attraction in Georgia. We are minutes from town. This is no slip shod “management run” Cabin. This is the owners pride and joy. It is meticulously maintained inside and out by them. There will be NO DISAPPOINTMENTS of any sort at this incredible cabin. Recently purchased and completely redone inside and out. It is almost 1500 square feet. The location is spectacular. It is close to six mountain towns ( Helen, Cleveland, Clarksville, Cornelia, Dahlonega and Hiawassee) and not far from others(Blue Ridge, Ellijay and Blairsville). This town is set up like an Alpine village of Europe. It is an amazing year round destination, but from Octoberfest through Christmas and New Years… it’s a must see! In spring and summer, it is a water lovers delight, especially with tubing. There is also a multitude of outdoor activities including zip lining. In fall, the leaves changing color and all the festivals are so beautiful and fun.There are so many things to do in this area of the mountains of Georgia. You can tube down a river in the Cleveland area or in the Town of Helen. We are just a few minutes from each. You can Zip Line or take a mountain roller coaster ride or go to the Miles Through Time Automotive Museum in Clarksville or go to Blue Ridge and go to the Bigfoot Museum.
Do you like wine?? This is the NAPA VALLEY of Georgia. You can literally walk to the nearest winery ..which is one of the best wineries in Georgia. This is Yonah Mountain Vineyards. It’s about 1.6 miles away. There are at least a dozen wineries within 35 minutes of THUNDER Ridge Lodge. If you are a wine connoisseur or a sight seeing Junkie, you are in the thick of it here …at THUNDER Ridge Lodge.
You could visit the town of Dahlonega, where gold was first discovered in Georgia and where the 2nd largest gold rush in American history began. This is a mountain town to see. It is a great destination.
If you care to relax at the cabin and just chill, there is the FATHER OF ALL KING LOG BEDS in the Master bedroom to relax! You also have the options of relaxing in the spa tub, playing horseshoes, or having a campfire outside by the pavilion. You could also just sit on the deck or swing and stare at the incredible view of Mount Yonah. Watching the sun go down while viewing Mount Yonah is something you could do nightly for your stay. The swing has a picturesque view of Mount Yonah, and is one of the only clear views in this area from one outlook point to another. There is an amazing 10 ft tall Totem pole and a vintage Rangers logging truck for picture taking opportunities too. The lodge has park like settings.
Inside the cabin, you have two large bedrooms with two full bathrooms. The spacious kitchen is well appointed for you to enjoy. The decor of the cabin has whimsical artwork and will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, but with all of the modern day conveniences.

*Important House rules
1. No more than two people.
2. No smoking or vaping of any kind.
3. NO PETS of any kind for ANY reason. If you must bring your dog or pet, please choose another cabin. The mountains have chiggers, fleas and ticks and we don’t want them in the cabin. Also some guests often have allergies to pets and we don’t want to alienate guests. Fumigation is costly and time consuming.
4. No one under age 28 may rent the cabin under their name.
5. No children under the age of 12, without special permission granted prior to booking.
6. No parties.
7. No hosting.
8. No loud noise to disturb the neighbors.
9. If using the fireplace, for ease and safety, use two hour fire logs one at a time. No raging fires. Please be neat and use care while using.
10. Wood could be obtained at local markets for outdoor fire pit usage.
11. If making a campfire, make sure fire is completely out before you leave the area. Caution must be observed at all times! Keep fires to safe levels…and never leave the fire unattended.
12. Please make sure your trash is in a plastic bag and placed into the trash receptacle outdoors and make sure the lid is on tight before leaving. We don’t want wildlife in the trash.
13. All cabins have cams, we respect your privacy. There are only outside cams. None point at pvt settings. None inside anywhere for privacy. Only two front cams of driveway and a rear cam of road below. The driveway cams are to determine how many people show up and that you were able to get into the cabin. Privacy is guaranteed. The back cam watches for wildlife, trespassers and Mt Yonah. When you are at the cabin, all cams notifications will be turned off.
14. No firing of guns.
15. No fireworks.
16. Inside fireplace usage is from mid November - mid February. 17. Don’t add anything to spa tub. 18. Reset hot tub back to 91° if you change the temperature.
