About this property

EastHaven GuestHouse - A Place of Renewal

Explore Savanna and the surrounding areas while enjoying the comforts of this quaint 3 bedroom 3 bath victorian home just 2 blocks from the working waterfront of the Mighty Mississippi. Watch the river barges load at the granary, count the train cars, and enjoy the river from Marquette Park. Being 1 block from Main St, 5 minutes south of Mississippi Palisades State Park, 5 minutes north of the Great River Bike Trail and the Savanna marina everything is within easy reach. While there are many restaurants in the surrounding area to choose from, our kitchen is also equipped for those who enjoy the relaxation of culinary pursuits. Once you have done your grocery shopping a Sullivan's grocery store just down the street a few blocks, you will find seasonings to the right and above the stove, plenty of pots and pans and even cake pans and a hand mixer for that special occasion. The kitchen also boasts a food processor, blender, hot pot, drip coffee maker, French press, toaster and waffle makers all awaiting your creativity or your simplicity. Grab a cup of coffee or tea (found to the left of the stove) and enjoy solitude on the breakfast porch that we affectionately call the French Bistro. Pull back the curtains and enjoy a glimpse of the Mighty Mississippi or leave them closed for a bit of respite from the sun. Anyway you do it, it will be a delight.

Once you have spent the day enjoying the surrounding area, know that your place of renewal awaits. Sometimes renewal isn't just for you, but also for your clothing. Feel free to throw them in the washer located in the Blue bathroom hidden away behind the bifold doors. Then make that all important choice for your own renewal...Whether you choose a nice soak in the cast-iron clawfoot bathtub or a luxurious shower before relaxing in front of the big screen or playing your favorite table game with friends, renewal is the order of the end of the day. Know that once your day is truly done, the comfortable beds await for a restorative sleep allowing you to enjoy tomorrow as much as you did today.

Pleasantly surprised
The house was above expectation. The one issue we had is that the AC wasn't working - I had a phone contact with a local property manager and she did an excellent job scheduling repair, but it wasn't until the following day so we were without AC the first night. Beyond that, the communication process with them was great.

My husband, Rodney, and I love traveling, bird watching, kayaking and rock climbing. We have a deep appreciation and respect for the hosts that have opened their homes to us. We have had such wonderful experiences that we decided to join the hosting family. We have put such loving care into updating EastHaven Guest House that we hope all those who stay here enjoy it as much as we do.
