We just got home from the most amazing stay at the Cranes Nest. I'm going to list all the pros and cons of the stay in hopes it's helpful to anyone considering staying at this property.
Let's start with the Cons: There are none. The pictures don't do this place justice at all. It's so much nicer than what appears in the pictures. It really is!
Pros: Cleanliness and Location. The location is the best in terms of ski in and ski out. It's literally slopeside and likely in the best spot I could imagine. And if you don't ski, an easy walk to/from the village/restaurants.
When we entered, we were immediately greeted with a nice entry way, with a long bench and a dozen or so hooks for hanging all your belongings. There's also a shelf for the helmets/hats above. There's a large closet there too, in addition to the closet to store your skis/boards. This area was perfect and unexpected (call it a bonus!)
Entering the condo, the kitchen is really nice and clean and has everything you'd wish for in a vacation rental. We found everything to be more than sufficient in terms of cooking meals and serving our family. The dining area is right off the kitchen and comfortably seats 6. The table and chairs are high tops, so families with small children might want to keep that in mind... The living room was spacious and the futon couches were great. The TV included a firestick with Prime, Netflix, HBO and more, in addition to full cable. The wifi is fast. There were also tons of board games, cards, etc. to play when you make it back to the condo after a day on the slopes. The fireplace was cozy & perfect.
The bathroom was spotless. The washer/dryer is in a closet in the bathroom. It's on the small side, but perfect for a daily load of laundry to wash face masks, scarves, etc. The bedrooms had plenty of space for unpacking and the queen bed in the master was so comfortable. The bunk room was a little tight in terms of space, but you can squeeze in 4 people, so it's perfect for a larger family with kids. It's not like you spend time in there, so it's fine. (We only have one child, so he was more than comfortable in there.)
Lastly, there's a large area in the hallway between the kitchen and bedrooms with shelving where you can store dry food/snacks as well as clothes if need be. Plenty of storage beyond the kitchen and bedrooms if you need it.
Ray was wonderful with communication and we truly loved spending time at this place. We will definitely return!
