Filth like this cannot occur over night or in a week or two

The house is neat and picked up, but the deep filth is evident everywhere. The tile across the kitchen and the entry/ den area has black grout and a deep haze of dirt. If you look under the end tables towards the wall you can see it is white. The bathroom and the kitchen are the same way. The shower on the first floor had so much dirt ground into the floor of the shower it took two bottles of cleaner, rubber gloved, a scrub brush and a aggressive Brillo pad made for the shower. After almost two hours of scrubbing, it was clean. There was brown soap scum up the walls with a ring at the bottom of the shower walls that was green and pink. Human hair of all sizes was left behind in the shower to greet us when we arrived. There was a large yellow round stain across one of the chair seats in the living room. The outside patio smells like urine in the sun and heat. The kitchen mugs and coffee maker had not been cleaned and still had lip marks and dried coffee residue from the last person in them. clearly never cleaned. The tablecloth had food stains and crumbs on it and the placemats had food smudges with black mold on the backs of some. The bedspreads had food crumbs on them upstairs and other odd stains and human hair. We finally left a day early and simply tried to inform the agency what was going on with the house, but all the two of them kept doing was yelling at me that I should have told them sooner and they never listened to a single word I said as they kept talking over me and I asked them three times, "May I speak.... Can I please tell you what is going on there ..... do you even want to know what is wrong with the house.....clearly not. Have a nice day" I hope someone informs the owner that their house has these issues so it can be resolved. The house is clearly broom swept but likely has not been actually cleaned in many months to possibly quite a bit longer.

GREAT location!

We loved being able to bring our dogs to vacation! Every evening, except for two rainy ones, we went down to view the sunset! What a spectacular way to spend a bit of the evening. The tides were fascinating, too; it was really fun to explore by walking way out into the bay at low tide. It was fun to try to swim against the tide in the natural pool-like area at the outlet of Paines Creek. We ate outside almost every night and loved the yard! Thank you for sharing your home!

So great!

The house was so comfortable, and the perfect walk from the beach. The outdoor space was lovely and private. We came up with our dog—the neighborhood was great for walking. It is easy to walk up the road for ice cream or dinner at Kate’s and just a short ride to so many other spots for fun and food . This is our 10th summer on Cape Cod and our family would love to come back to this house!

Good location

This rental is in a wonderful location. Close to the beach and local eateries (Kate's seafood - very convenient). The yard and layout of the house was very nice. The downside was the cleanness of the interior. Upon entering I spent time sweeping, dusting and cleaning huge dust bunnies and hair. Not how a rental property should be kept. An old moldy squeegee and someone elses used soap in the shower. We enjoyed our stay but feel you need to look into a cleaning company that cleans between weekly rentals. For what we paid we should be able to relax in a clean space.

Comfortable family rental - close to the beach!

We had a wonderful Cape vacation at this rental! The backyard space was beautiful and comfortable for our group to relax, play games, & bird watch. An excellent location with an easy walk to the beach, Kate's seafood & ice cream. The space was very clean and homey. We enjoyed our stay very much & highly recommend!

Great Cape Cod family vacation

We had a wonderful time at this property. It is within walking distance to the beach, seafood and ice cream and the Cape Cod Natural History Museum. The sunsets at the beach were just amazing, especially at low tide. The kids absolutly loved tubing the creek. The house was spacious, very well equipped and perfect for us as a family.

Great location

We absolutely loved this property and this location. Everything you need is a short walk away. Paines Creek is perfect for young kids and we loved being able to walk down to Kate’s for ice cream after a day at the beach. The home is very well kept and it has a great outdoor space to enjoy when you aren’t at the beach. Highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

Great house, perfect location! Dog and kid friendly.

House was perfect for our family. Bedrooms were clean and kitchen had everything we needed. Outside patio was perfect for hanging out post beach. Walking distance to Paines Creek where you can float down the river and walk out at low tide. Also walking distance to ice cream, lobster rolls and coffee.

Perfect Cape House/ close to beach

We have stayed at this house over long weekends for several years and always look forward to returning! It is a wonderful house in a perfect location. You are a 5-minute walk to a gorgeous, quiet beach with one of the most beautiful sunsets available on the Cape. The house is on a quiet street that allows you to feel as if you've escaped from the big city, but is also within walking distance to several casual restaurants, ice cream shops, etc. In addition to having the beach so close by, you are a quick drive to the bike trail (where you can rent bikes) and several ponds, which are great for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. The house itself is spacious yet cozy, and it is very clean and includes everything you need for your stay, including a well-stocked kitchen and A/C. We particularly love being able to grill outside and enjoy dinner on the outdoor patio, and using the outdoor shower in warm weather. Last but not least, we love to play bocce on and throw the frisbee around the well-kept yard. You really can't find a better spot from which to enjoy the Cape!

Perfect for families/couples; short walk to beach

We have had the pleasure of staying in this Paines Creek Property a number of times. It is perfect for families or couples with its location on a quiet road and it's close proximity to the beach. The charming mix of vintage and modern decor makes it feel more like a home than a rental cottage. The updated kitchen is outfitted with all you might need to eat in but you are also very near to some of the best fresh seafood on Cape Cod with Sesuit Harbor down the street and Kate's at the corner. We would highly recommend this property and only regret we do not live closer to rent it more often. Kate and Ken Richardson 03/20/2016

Quintessential Cape Cod Cottage!

Charming cottage, with great amenities. My husband and I with our 2 kids stayed for a week and it was beautiful. Quiet and peaceful area. The inside of the house was clean and the rooms were decorated very nicely. It was a comfortable, relaxing and a great "get away from it all" type of place. The beach at the end of the street is amazing, which was only a 5 minute walk. The sunsets were breath taking, plenty of sea life (our kids spent hours collecting things :) and the low tides or "flats" as people called them allow you to walk for a couple of miles across clear sand until you hit the ocean, where both the sand and water was so pristine, just be sure to head back in time before the tide starts to come back in. Some great local restaurants and seafood, plus a 3 min walk to a great seafood shack and ice cream which the kids asked to go every night. Really nice antique shops and state parks and national seashores all close by. And because the house is located in the middle of the Cape we were able to explore a lot of towns in all directions. We loved all aspects and will be taking the drive again from NY to stay there.
