Could not have asked for a better stay. The location was great, centrally located off of Duval, but it was still quiet. We had an issue with the A/C but the property managers got it taken care of quickly and did not interfere at all with our stay. We place was great and clean and the perfect size for two people. I would definitely stay here again.
Great place! Great location! Only downside is that there is no parking provided and it too us 90 minutes to find a spot for our car. Other than that , 10/10!
The eyebrow house was perfect. Communication was seamless. Check in was a breeze. And after a flight cancelation we were fortunate enough to add one more night without any issues. Is highly recommend. And look forward to visiting again. The location was just off Duvall Street, but you would never know because you’re just close enough to the fun, but a safe distance fromThe noise level - despite St. Patrick’s Day celebrations throughout the week accommodations were perfect. We made use of the hot tub, the grill , back deck and really enjoyed the comfort of a cozy bed and air conditioned space on The warm evenings.
We so enjoyed this cute studio apartment. It had everything we needed, and the location was easy for us to walk where we wanted to go. We would sray there again!
Check in process was very easy. It is an off-sight property, so the car will need to add a stop. We walked in to a bright, clean, very nice room. The location is a half block from Duval…right where you want to be for the action that area has to offer without getting a car. It’s also real close to a place that rents scooters if you find yourself needing something for the day. We didn’t, but it’s there. When we were there, we had an issue and Kevin came out and took care of it right away. We will definitely be back!
The place itself was really neat and a perfect spot for a couple looking to get our and explore Key West. The location is within walking or biking distance to almost everything. The only downside is there was construction right across the street. This shouldn't be an issue once the new house is complete.
A word of warning about the temperature of the apartment. It is very hot! Granted, we stayed in the middle of July during a heat wave but the small A/C unit was not able to provide adequate cooling. We kept all of the blinds and curtains shut and kept the A/C on 72 (the lowest you're allowed to put it) but it was still uncomfortably warm in the apartment. Even at night it felt like it was upper 70s if not lower 80s inside the unit. This made for less than ideal sleeping conditions. It really needs another, or larger, A/C unit to keep a comfortable temperature.
Other than that we would highly recommend this place especially if you are planning a trip outside of the summer months.
This unit is absolutely adorable, well appointed and in a great location. Having the private veranda and hot tub is lovely and a nice retreat.
That being said, please be wary when renting this unit during the hottest months of the year. The decking is scalding during the day - wear those sandals! And unfortunately, despite the air conditioning unit and fans it just isn't enough to keep up with the summer month heat and humidity. If you need your space to be cool, bordering on cold to sleep, you will not be satisfied. I am sure it is fine during more temperate times of the year, but I imagine any visit in June, July or August you will find that the air conditioning unit can not keep up. We did keep all the blinds and shades closed to help conserve what cool air we had.
Also be aware there is no fan or cooling unit access to the bathroom. If you are not in there, leave the door open, or you will end up with a private sauna.
We did not experience bug issues, but given that we were right off of Duvall we ate out three times a day. It's Florida, if you don't want issues with bugs, keep your food sealed in containers and/or in the refrigerator.
There is a home under construction right next door, the banging isn't really that bad, but it is noticeable. We never slept past 8:30 a.m. so it wasn't an issue for us, I expect that will continue through the remainder of the year because it's moving pretty slow.
Otherwise, the location is great for walking to bars and shops!

Hot and uncomfortable
We stayed here for my birthday. While it was well decorated and a great location there were some very disappointing pieces that lead us to actually leave and go home a day early.
1. The unit is HOT. The through wall AC is not properly placed for circulation and is too small of a unit for the space Even with all the blinds and curtains closed to ward off the sun and using the box fan they have in the unit we were constantly hot. Plan to sleep without any covers. Being enclosed in dark room to try and keep the room even remotely close to bearable is not my idea of a good vacation spot.
2. There was construction in the site next door. While I recognize that is out of the owners control, this is something the property management company was well aware of and they failed to communicate or account for in the pricing due to the inconvenience. Construction banging starts EXACTLTY at 8am everyday including weekends.
3. TV screen was bad.
4. I recognize these are old homes. But they still need to be maintained. Whatever supporting structure is under the shower is going bad. When you stand in the shower you can feel the floor moving, significantly. The supports are bad.
5. Ants. As others have noted we had ants in the bathroom and the kitchen upon arrival. Not even due to food being left out.
6. They really went cheap on all things with the bed. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. The sheets were very cheap and rough material. The pillows were flat.
Would not stay again.
The place was clean and everything that we imagined for a nice getaway for a couple. It’s minutes from anything that you want to do and right around the corner from a golf cart/scooter rental business for the activities that you’d want to do that are a little bit farther away.
Convenient to Duval, kitchen and private outdoor patio was perfect for morning coffee and breakfast. Groceries were close. Comfortable beds and plenty of room for a couple or small family.
We both got chemical burns from the hot tub. Believe me, it was not pleasant for either of us.
I understand that things go wrong from time to time so I contacted the management company to see if it could be remedied. No response. I guess they don't care about their tenants' comfort and safety.
Otherwise, the room itself was fine and the location was good.

Not the best, not the worst
Positives: Location was good- walking distance to a lot of things, room looked as advertised, bed was comfy
Negatives: parking- had to haul luggage from 2 blocks away (this was in the middle of the week too). Parking never opened up during my stay.
Bugs!!! Killed a few weird bugs when I got there - no big deal, it’s the south. But then ants! Ants everywhere! Had a box of danishes and they infested it!
It was HOT!! I mean hot! After the heat from outside you want to relax in a cool environment- no. No matter how low you turned the temp down it was still hot. Found a box fan and had to prop it up in a chair facing the bed to sleep comfortably.
*they do warn you about the stairs being steep, but be careful because they are super slick with the humidity*
The shower would go cold halfway thru a shower. -they tell you to let the water run to get hot due to old piping but once it’s hot it doesn’t stay hot.
Lastly, could have just been me but night one I woke up with bumps on me and uncontrollable itching. More and more came but only when I was in the bed. Had to sleep in pants and long sleeves and it wasn’t so bad but again it’s hot in there so no fun. Not sure if it was allergic reaction, bugs, or what but it was only at this particular place in the bed.
For the $ not the experience I hoped for but not the worst -mostly because we were not there most of the time.
The charming studio apartment had everything to make our stay enjoyable, we especially enjoyed the outside deck , hot tub and the comfortable bed !! We were fortunate to be able to have a lot to park in With a parking permit because we were there during lobster fest and parking was crazy. !! ❤️🌴
The treetop property was very cute and very key west. Carrying everything up the stairs to the top was a pain, but that was our poor planning. The property was clean and very quite. The only issue we had is trying to find a valid parking spot for our scooter. We tucked it in a couple different places during our stay but were never sure we wouldn’t get a ticket. Key west parking seems to be tough everywhere though and not unique to this property.
We enjoyed the close proximity to Duval Street. The place was nice and the hot tub was a great option to have. The room could have been a bit cleaner, but the linens were clean and there were plenty of them which we appreciate. Overall it was a great stay and we really appreciate the management's great communication, will likely stay again!!
I can't praise this rental company enough. We had initially booked this rental almost 2 years ago when planning to attend a wedding in Key West. Then the pandemic hit and plans were uncertain. I think we changed the dates of this rental 4 times and with each change of plans, the rental company was extremely quick to respond and very accommodating. Much like the rest of this trip planning process, our flight ended up getting cancelled and had to be rescheduled to the next day and yet again Keywest Hideaways was ever-understanding. Check in was a breeze when we finally got there. The treehouse suite is absolutely gorgeous! We loved the private deck and hot tub. Bathroom is clean and bed is super comfortable! I wish we were able to stay longer but we will definitely be back again. Thank you SO much Key West Hideaways- you guys were great!!!
