A relaxing getaway in a quaint lakeside cottage

The cottage is exactly as advertised except the fireplace is ornamental. We had a very relaxing week with family and friends, spending time in the garden and sunroom. The cottage was quaint but showing its age, particularly some of the appliances and fittings. Innisfil is a small lakeside town most suitable for those who bring or rent their own watersport equipment, especially as the cottage has a great dock. Sunrise is beautiful over the lake. There is an abundance of stores and take-outs within short driving distance but few public beaches or parks nearby. The owner was a good communicator, responding quickly to messages and questions.

Waterfront cottage

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. My daughter was able to work from the cottage and loved sitting in the sunroom where she had access to the internet and a view of the beautiful lake. My dogs also enjoyed the big backyard. The cottage is a bit dated but we had lots of room and It was very functional. Thanks, Gerry.

Perfect family getaway

We really enjoyed our stay by the lake. Cottage was just as described, with plenty of space for the family. Dishwasher and laundry an added bonus. We really enjoyed all the outside sitting areas, especially the shaded areas during such a hot week! Having a firepit was a perfect way to end the day. Access to the water is by ladder on the dock, which might be the only challenge for little kids. Cycling in the area was lovely, glad we brought our bikes. Hope to return next year!

Waterfront with all the amenities you need.

Great stay at Gerry’s Cottage. He was so easy to communicate with and had all the amenities you’d need for a stay. There were only 3 people in our group but this place could fit up to 8 comfortably (depending on your rooming/bed space needs). Internet was fast, lots of green space out back, and the dock is perfect. A very short drive to groceries/shopping if you need anything. Thanks Gerry!

Our stay

We had a fantastic time at this cottage. There was plenty of room for activities and the cottage is a good size. The docks big, bonfires were great and the lawn is large.

Amazing!

This was the perfect cabin on a beautiful lake and it has its own dock! We were on the dock all day and evening. We built a fire and roasted marshmallows! Barrie Farms has the freshest produce and the whole fruit picking experience for the family. A premier grocery store (Sobey’s) is on the way up from Toronto, along with a liquor store that is amazing. Try all the local beers and wine. There is also tons of outlet shopping about a half hour away. I’m from the USA and never knew that the Toronto and Lake Simcoe area were so beautiful, relaxing and had so many amenities. We will be back!

Great family cottage

Lots of space and bedrooms for the family to spread out. Enjoyed having both sun and shade while sitting on the dock. Found some great fishing spots.

Our Favourite Cottage Get-away

This was a return visit for us and we were happy to be back. The cottage has everything we need and more, and being right on the water makes it perfect. Thanks, Gerry, for providing us with our favourite cottage holiday. We'll be back!! St. Clair Family

Cottage Heaven

This is a lovely property that has two special attributes: Being right on the water with a dock to swim off and great views, and being an easy drive from Toronto. Everything we needed for a really comfortable stay was provided with plenty of rooms for family or guests, lots of nice places to sit both inside and outside and within a few minutes drive to grocery stores, nice beaches and other places of interest in the area. We would highly recommend this cottage as a perfect family retreat.

We had a great time

What a great location. Lakefront with a private dock and a beautiful view of Lake Simcoe and not too far from Cooks Bay fishing by boat. An older cottage with several recent renovations. Only a few minutes from town, CanTire, Sobeys, LCBO etc. Nice size yard and we enjoyed the fire pit at night.

Great Stay

We had a great time, the cottage is very spacious. New dock and a perfect location close to all restaurants and stores, Nice part of the lake beautiful sunset view etc. The cottage is cozy with lots of room. Just needs some attention to the roof, other than that can't ask for a better place.

Fishing vacation

Excellent location for boating and fishing, has a long L shape dock, room for two boats Plenty of space for a family vacation, 4 bedrooms, large back yard, lake access not so good for swimming very rocky but there is a swim ladder on the dock. Cottage is showing some age but could be a gem with some minor repairs. Cleaning of the cottage could use some upgrading, a couple of the bedrooms along with the shower curtain need attention. All in all it was ok for person's who are accustomed to travel in the rough. Location was perfect in respect to boating /fishing/restaurants and general vacation needs.

Nice Cottage - comfortable and quiet

We stayed at this cottage Sept 21- Oct 8th . There was myself and my SO and our dogs - it was a larger place than we needed but we enjoyed the extra space ! We enjoyed this time of the year with the colours changing and all the "summer people" gone for the most part. Very quiet , almost deserted point where you have clear views up and down the lake. The cottage had all the comforts of home , the beds were in good condition. I worked from there often and the internet was fine , and nice to have full Bell TV as well. The kitchen was well equipped , the stove is old but works okay - The views from the dock are wonderful with nice sunrises and sunsets.. The town is a quick 5 min drive and it has all the stores you would need with new Sobeys /Shoppers and new plaza etc.... I would recommend this for cottage for families , however be aware that swim access for young kids is not available ( large rocks ). The rest of the property is flat and even for the most part - my SO has health issues and had no trouble getting around . Overall a nice comfortable cottage - as long as you are not looking for anything too fancy ;)

What makes this property unique

Wake up in the morning to a beautiful sunrise while drinking your coffee on the deck or the large dock.
Weekdays are the most peaceful with almost nobody on the lake or around you.
It's a 5 minute drive to the town where you can find a 24 hour grocery store, a liquor store, a beer store, restaurants, ice cream stores, banks, coffee shops, and other goodies. There is even a library. Our cottage is located on a quiet cul de sac with little or no traffic.
