Casa das Flores (AL25736) is perfectly situated in the centre of the sheltered, south-facing bowl of Arco da Calheta.

Sleeps 6, an additional beds can be provided for children.

Calheta has the reputation of being one of the warmest areas in Madeira.

The villa was designed to maximise from the benefit of its position for its views of the Atlantic Ocean, Arco da Calheta village and the mountains behind.

A top class interior designer was employed to assist with the interior layout and furnishings.

The villa is positioned to maximise the shade in the summer to keep the villa cool and in the winter allow the sun to shine on the south facing windows.

This contemporary, high-spec villa is surrounded by extensive, well maintained gardens, offering luxurious and spacious accommodation with uninterrupted 180º views of the Atlantic Ocean and village.

The open plan living area is designed for maximize use of natural light and for indoor/outdoor living.

The ample Miele-fitted kitchen/diner leads directly out to a large pool terrace with BBQ, outside dining table, loungers and umbrellas.

The pool (11x4m), with its solar cover, is heated to maintain a water temp of approx. 20c, in the Winter, higher temperature in the summer.
Additional heating up to 27c can be provided in the Winter, at an additional charge, please contact the owner for details.

For winter, the lounge has a wood burner, the kitchen and bathrooms have under-floor heating and oil-filled radiators are available for the bedrooms.

All windows are fitted with electrically operated shutters.

WiFi, DVD, CD, games, meo cable TV are available.
HDMI cables are supplied to connect computers to the televisions for guests that wish to watch BBC and ITV using a VPN

Casa das Flores is licenced (AL - Alojamento Local- ) and tourist approved, complying with all statutory requirements, is registered for IVA and pays appropriate taxes, so you can rent with confidence.

INDOOR / OUTDOOR LIVING and the POOL:
This Villa is ideal for indoor/outdoor living and you can enjoy meals outside during most of the year, except perhaps Jan-Mar.

The winter sunsets over the ocean are a perfect evening backdrop.

The large terrace, provides a number of private sun bathing areas, with attractive flower beds, extends along the length of the house and contains a large heated swimming pool, which measures 11 x 4 meters.

Adjacent to the pool is a shower room and a BBQ shack (conveniently close to the kitchen) with gas BBQ, a 2-burner gas hob and sink unit.

Plenty of garden furniture is provided, including a dining table for 6, numerous additional chairs, 6 sun loungers.

Awnings provide shelter over the dinning area. Stone steps lead up to the pretty, well-stocked landscaped garden at the upper level behind the house which can also be accessed from the bedroom passage.

The lounge and kitchen have large 40 ins screens.

Sehr schönes, großzügiges Ferienhaus

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, alles sauber, liebevoll und recht modern eingerichtet. Unendlich viel Platz. Zufahrt zum Haus ist ab der zweiten Fahrt hoch Routine, toller Blick auf das Meer, Pool war schön warm, auch ohne zusätzliche Zahlung der Beheizung. So langsam kommt die Ausstattung in die Jahre und über kurz oder lang werden Renovierungsarbeiten fällig. (Gardinen, Fenstertüren, Kühlschranktür), Kleinigkeiten, die sich jedoch summieren und dem ansonsten tollen Ambiente ein bisserl schaden.

Fantastic Holiday Location

Not often in life do you get to stay in a property of this quality in such a special location. The weather was almost perfect and we enjoyed two super weeks exploring Arco Da Calheta and Madeira. The pool and pool area at Casa Das Flores are amazing, we used the pool every day. The villa has everything you need come rain or shine. Access to walks and shops/bars from the door also a bonus. Our only critique was the noise from locals who appeared to be racing their cars at night near the property. Overall, a 5 star property in a fantastic location.

Second stay - which says it all!

We fell in love with this property last year and brought all the family this year. It’s so spacious, well appointed and clean, and for me the view, flowers and little garden make it special. We had 2 cars this year and used the helpful garage. Convenient location while still being so private. Hoping to return one day. Thank you!

Stunning Gem!

The pictures do not do it justice is all I can say. The property is absolutely stunning and it really is made to feel like a home away from home! It is very spacious and light. We have fallen in love with Madeira and will be back soon. Even though it was December we had the most amazing weather and the pool was the perfect way to while away the hours. Not to mention the sunsets - from the comfort of the sofa or out by the pool! Nothing compares. We were sorely disappointed to leave before the fireworks. Our kids loved the lizards in the garden and had loads of fun feeding them. You will find everything you need in Calheta which is beautifully done up with the Christmas lights. We cannot wait to go back.

Superb

Our second visit to Casa das Flores was much anticipated, having had such an enjoyable stay last year. This time it was really lovely walking in and seeing the fabulous view out over the banana plantations and the village of Arco to the wide expanse of ocean beyond. The large patio, so nicely furnished and with plenty of lush, colourful plants around and of course the generous sized pool which was kept at a very pleasant 27 degrees for the length of our stay. We appreciated the spacious, open plan layout of the living spaces, the extremely well equipped kitchen and comfortable seating areas. The villa is a fabulous base from which to explore the island and we had a wonderful holiday.

Erholsamer Urlaub in einem tollen Haus

Wir hatten einen 2-monatigen Aufenthalt im Casa das Flores. Vorab: Danke für die tolle Zeit dort! Hervorheben möchten wir: - die Größe und Raumaufteilung des Hauses - den phänomenalen Ausblick - den großen und gut ausgestatteten Außenbereich - die gut ausgestattete Küche Nicht ganz so gut war: - entgegen dem Inserat gab es leider keine Skybox (ohne eigenen Laptop wären wir unterhaltungstechnisch in den zwei Monaten sehr eingeschränkt gewesen) - die Kommunikation mit der Housekeeperin ausschliesslich über WhatsApp war manchmal etwas verwirrend Insgesamt haben wir uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Haus auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist noch gut, allerdings kommt sie langsam in die Jahre. Außerdem sollte man sich vor der Buchung im Klaren sein, dass man entweder gut zu Fuß sein muss oder definitiv einen Mietwagen braucht (gute Aussicht gibts halt nur weiter oben :-) ). An dieser Stelle möchten wir uns noch ganz herzlich bedanken bei den guten Geistern des Hauses, die sich persönlich um den Garten, den Pool und die Sauberkeit gekümmert haben.

Perfect Paradise

We spent two weeks in the beautiful villa 'Casa das Flores' and loved every second of it. It's a real gem! Besides being spacious, spotlessly clean and very well equipped it is also perfectly situated to explore the countless beauties of Madeira. We travelled from North to South, and East to West, falling more in love with the island each day. But the highlight was always returning to this stunning villa. We enjoyed the heated pool and spent all our evenings watching the sunsets from the terrace. We even spotted dolphins down in the bay from our balcony. Thanks also to the hosts and the local team for making our stay this memorable. We can only recommend going there and hope to be back one day.

We had such a lovely holiday staying at Casa Da Flores. The location really was perfect for exploring the island but also loved that we could walk to a couple of local bars and shop. Calheta was great for a nice meal and a Dolphin/whale watching trip. Levadas are close by. The house was nicest one we have ever stayed in. The views were amazing and it had everything you needed. If we ever visited again we would have no reason to look anywhere else and would 100% recommend to anyone. Thankyou for the best holiday.

La propiedad impecable,impresionantes vistas.Lo único la entrada del televisor para el pendrive no funcionaba bien no accedía a las grabaciones q tenía dentro.El buen tiempo no nos acompañó,pero eso es algo impredecible.El personal q vino limpiar la piscina,muy educados.Gracias por dejarnos quedar en la casa hasta las 12, pena q no pudiéramos estar un poco más x culpa del horario de los vuelos,pero de todas formas gracias

Beautiful villa

We arrived in the middle of the night due to the weather conditions and straight away we were impressed. Lovely garden, great pool - very good size. There was everything we needed and more. Very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, cosy lounge. Very spacious home and as mentioned in previous reviews the photos do not do the villa justice. Stunning views of the ocean. Planning on coming back.

Une merveilleuse parenthèse

Quel plaisir ,après de magnifiques ballades quotidiennes , de pouvoir retrouver cette très agreable villa , spacieuse , à la vue fantastique ( et cela depuis chaque pièce) , sans parler de la piscine de 12 mètres de long !!! Le niveau d'équipement de cette maison est simplement exceptionnel à l'extérieur comme à l'intérieur . Et surtout un grand merci à l'équipe chargée de l'accueil et de l'entretien. Equipe disponible et reactive et toujours souriante . Merci donc à Vanda, Tania, José et Manuel , ils ont vraiment été au top. Spacious house, beautify view and warm pool

The house is large and well kitted out. The beds were really comfy and the shutters meant that the bedrooms were really dark and we slept well. We paid extra for the pool to be heated which really paid off as the weather was very changeable - the kids spent several hours in the pool every day! It’s a good size. The location is quiet but we ended up driving a lot. Funchal is half an hour away. There is not much in Calheta itself but some of the little villages nearby are very nice.

Einfach ein wunderbares Haus mit phantastischem Nutzwert !

Wir waren das zweite Mal nach einer Woche in 2022 da, nur diesmal zwei Wochen und das war eigentlich wieder zu kurz. Das Haus entspricht tatsächlich exakt der Beschreibung und es gibt auch keinerlei verdeckte Nachteile, die vielleicht verschwiegen wurden. Einfach ehrlich! Den tatsächlichen Nutzwert des Hauses und seiner besonderen Features merkt man immer mehr, wenn man es länger nutzt: Das komplette Duschbad direkt am Pool, der Außengrill direkt neben dem Außenesstisch und der Küche, die kühle Terrasse oben, der direkte Meerblick mit Balkonen von jedem Schlafzimmer ... das Haus ist einfach toll geplant und gebaut. Wenn man überhaupt etwas "nicht Positives" sagen möchte - und das ist Meckern auf extrem hohem Niveau - dann ist es die Tatsache, dass man für alles ein Auto braucht. Die Straßen sind eben sehr steil und es gibt keine Fußwege an den Straßen. Aber das ist ja auch der Reiz von Madeira. Wen das stört, dem empfehle ich einfach ein anderes Reiseziel. Es war einfach super und wir kommen wieder!

The perfect Madeira getaway.

This is an immaculate property, with a beautiful setting. I particularly loved the garden areas which are expertly tended. The pool is a good enough size to exercise up and down if you wish. Wonderful Casa Das Flores

We had a wonderful week in Casa Das Flores. The house is immaculate. The pool is brilliant especially as we had it heated. All the equipment of the house is of a high standard. The house decoration is amazing for a rented house. Vanda was very nice and helpful. As a final thought, this is by far the best house we have ever stayed in.

AS WE LOOK BACK ON ALL VRBOS, THIS WAS BEST, which says a lot!

We are an older couple who stayed for a week which can only described as bliss. I don’t think i could have imagined the joy of this location perched above the sea, but including an array of red tile roofs, flower gardens, tiers of banana groves and mountains embracing it all. In the evening the sea was silver or gold, but never the same. The house and gardens lived up to this beauty, with its wealth of windows and balconies, its amazingly equipped kitchen, and unusually gifts of milk, bread, jam and wine to ease our grocery shopping way. Even all paper products were supplied. The king size bed had a perfect high-grade mattress. The garden out back was exquisite, tended by a loving Gardener, for certain. Its colors were intermingled to make ud gasp when we first saw it. Freesias and roses happened to be in bloom, as well as some incredible small bloom bush with a heavenly scent. Bougainvillea and hibiscus out front created a spectacular frame for the wide views. I cannot say enough about the instant quiet such a view offered. The house’s inside character is established by vast hardwood floors and staircase, all rooms large and opened out. There seem to be convenient bathrooms everywhere, each larger than the next. I counted four with full showers, one with a large bathtub. We paid the reasonable surcharge for the pool heating to warm, and i went in daily, a real treat. Thank you so much for a week which turned out to be much more magical than we could hope for

Traumhaftes Ferienhaus

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit. Das Haus liegt traumhaft, man hat wunderbare Sicht auf das Meer. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön, die Küche sehr gut ausgestattet. Zur Begrüßung hatte man uns Wein, Kaffe, Wasser, Brot, Butter, Käse und Marmelade in der Küche bereitgestellt, so das man bei der späten Ankunft versorgt war. Der Pool war auch im Januar schön war. Wir bedanken uns sehr für die schöne Zeit und kommen bestimmt wieder.

We loved staying at Casa das Flores and had an excellent holiday. The house is superb, so comfortable and spacious; the open plan layout downstairs works really well; the outside space is excellent with lovely seating areas and the generous sized pool is warm and in sun much of the day; the views are fabulous, to see so much ocean and sky was so relaxing; there are amazing plantings in the garden areas, with so much colour and interest. We found the location to be perfect: quiet and peaceful yet easy to access other areas.

Herrlicher Urlaub

Wir ( 2 Erwachsene und 2 Teenager) können dieses Haus uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen und werden sicher auch noch einmal dort Urlaub machen. Alles war sehr sauber, großzügig und super ausgestattet (z.B. die Küche), es fehlte an nichts. Die große Terrasse mit dem tollen Pool und Meerblick ist einfach traumhaft und man kann den ganzen Tag dort verbringen. Sogar aus dem Bett liegend in dem großen Zimmer oben kann man das Meer sehen ! Wir fanden auch Madeira an sich und die Landschaft wunderbar und haben viele schöne Ausflüge unternommen (wandern, Whale Watching, Funchal, Meerwasserschwimmbad).
