Sleepless in Pasaic
Positives - place is old but clean. Had a funky odor so we had to get a can of air freshener. A few steps to city transit, food, market.
Negatives - This is the lower unit of a duplex which is not real clear in the description. There is only space for 1 car per unit. Since washer/dryer were not working, owner agreed to give us the second car spot (a $10/night upcharge). When the upstairs renters showed up the next day, they took our 2 spaces while we were out (after they were told we had them). On our last night (Sun), the renters upstairs decided to throw a very loud party that lasted til 4am.
When I contacted the owner about the issues, he responded (reads like standard AI response) by apologizing and offering a discount on our next stay. Since I have no plans that require this property again, I asked the discount be applied to this stay but was told that he is unable to do that. Sure you can, you just refund an amount to the card that was used, businesses (including mine) do that all the time.
I understand these were issues out of his control, but no effort to compensate for the issues is the reason for the poor review. Lots of apologies, but no real attempt to reverse the bad experience.
