About the host
Hosted by Naomi Migliacci
I can't wait to meet you! If you'd like to rest and relax in quiet, as I do, this is a great place to hang out on the deck or in the hammock and watch nature, read, or snooze. You can check out my gardens and help yourself to some herbs. If you'd like to chat and trade stories, I'd love that. I've traveled all over the world and the USA and, probably like you, have stayed in many different situations. I believe it is a great service to offer clean, comfortable, interesting, and quiet housing.
Why they chose this property
Guilford is a charming town and the shoreline towns are fun to explore with their unique shops, festivals on the greens, and great restaurants. I love the beaches, especially Hammonasset in Madison. There are also playhouses, music venues, antique and farmers markets, art galleries, and fairs.
Guilford is close to New Haven, Yale, and other universities. There's great dining, shows, live music, and lots to see and do. Within an hour's drive north there are other attractions. Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods Casino are about a 45-minute drive and their websites will have information about events and dining. There's lots to do on the Connecticut River. You can take in a show at The Kate in Old Saybrook. Sing along with an old timey band at the Griswold Inn in Essex. See a play at the Ivoryton Playhouse. Support wildlife at Pandemonium, a thrift store in Centerbrook. As with all the towns, there's interesting shops and great dining, but Chester seems to have some of the best of the best. On the other side of the Connecticut River there's the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, the Niantic Book Barn and its outbuildings, lobster rolls in Noank, jazz and art in Old Lyme, and Ocean Beach Park in New London. Cross the Thames River, and about a 15-minute drive from New London there's Mystic Seaport and Stonington offering historical sites, shopping, and restaurants.
We're close to transportation hubs. The Shoreline East train is about a 10-minute drive and goes north towards Old Saybrook and south towards New Haven where you can take Metro-North or Amtrak to New York City and beyond. Tweed Airport near New Haven is about a 25-minute drive. Bradley Airport in the Hartford area is about a 1.5- hour drive. The New London transportation hub with its ferries to Block Island and Long Island is about 45 minutes away. To take the ferry to Port Jefferson, NY, from Bridgeport is about a 40-minute drive.

What makes this property unique
My property has four separate areas: Bluestone Boho Apartment, Stepping Stone Studio, and Riverstone Rafters Apartment. If you have family and friends, consider booking all of them to be near each other, but also have some independence and privacy. The main house has a porch, but all the apartments have deck space. There's a grill, a large yard, lots of birds and wildlife, and it's quiet. The decor in each space is different, and it's been a lot of fun to find unique furniture, books, games, and other items to give personality to each space.
Two dogs and two cats live on the property. The dogs are old and always leashed. Only one cat, Diego, goes out. He's friendly and may take a walk with you and show you the rabbits!
The location is great. It's within a mile of a public golf course, a convenience store, and a package store. A five-minute drive north gets you to Route 80, and five minutes south is Route 95. Travel south another minute to Route 1 and the downtown and Guilford Green.
