Elderly grandfather and young adult grandson on long weekend trip. First time staying in a private home. Wonderful place, location and host. Wish we could take this place and host with us on every vacation.
Jayme Lou’s property was very nice. The house is very clean with nice furnishings, including comfortable beds. We drove to Acadia and Bar Harbor every day, a beautiful and easy 35 min drive. Jayme Lou was very helpful and responsive to all our questions. I would stay here again.
My husband and I enjoyed our 4-night stay at Jayme Lou's duplex. Although located in a more remote (and very peaceful) area, it is central to Bar Harbor/Acadia and Ellsworth which was perfect for everything we wanted to do on our vacation. Comfortable accommodations with a well-stocked kitchen, and the gas fireplace was a nice touch on chilly nights. The nearby beach is beautiful and great for bird watching. We appreciated Jayme's recommendations as well since it was our first time visiting the area.
This was the perfect quaint and quiet duplex for a great vacation in Maine! The back seating area was a peaceful place to enjoy your morning coffee surrounded by the beautiful trees of Maine. Jayme-Lou was a wonderful host and neighbor! We enjoyed visiting with her and she gave great recommendations of things to do in the area. Even when we ran into a hiccup she was so accommodating! The duplex was very clean and there were plenty of dishes for use in the kitchen. We would definitely stay again if we are ever back in the area!
We spent 4 nights at Jayme-Lou's while visiting Bar Harbor/Acadia NP. The home is beautifully decorated and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and the location is exceptionally quiet. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, just bring your own food. We were there when the weather was unusually hot and humid but the window AC in the back bedroom and the ceiling fans kept the entire home comfortable. I was a bit concerned about being in a duplex, not knowing if the renters next door would be loud and rowdy (because we're not), so I was pleased to find out that our host has the other half of the duplex. Aside from an occasional bark from Scout or the sound of his play, you won't hear much from your neighbor. Perhaps most importantly, Jayme-Lou is determined to make sure that you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. This is definitely a place to consider if you want to be near Acadia but away from the crowds.
