We had an amazing week staying in Kathleen's cottage in Waterville. From the start we were made very welcome and Kathleen is a wonderful host. The cottage was extremely spacious and within walking distance to tbe town and the beach. Would definitely recommend it to families looking to holiday in Kerry
South Kerry is now my favourite place in Ireland, the scenery, beaches and lovely towns and villages have won us over, Waterville is a great base to explore this peninsula. The house was perfect, just removed from the village centre for privacy but only a minutes walk from everything, our host Kathleen called to see us on our first day and her house had everything thats needed to cater for anyones needs, my dog Charlie had a ball and has come home for a well earned sleep after his beach exploits, I will return to kerry and this house ASAP.
We stayed for 3 weeks at Kathleen's home. Appreciated the extra-large primary bedroom with ensuite, generous closet space, and a peak at the Atlantic Ocean. And welcomed good water pressure in the shower! The living room is stuffed with reclining chairs – each of 5-6 people could have their own. So glad to be able to walk to get groceries and prepared meals in 3 minutes, or a scrumptious melted brie & chicken sandwich at the Beachcove Café in 3.5 min. Dooks was an absolute gem of a golf course and one of the oldest in Ireland (150 euros but half that for repeat bookings, 45 min away). Had fun driving to 8 towns in Co. Kerry, including taking two day trips to the Killarney National Park. So glad we made this Waterville cottage our home base for half of our trip to Ireland.
I've just returned back to the states after an amazing stay in Ireland. Kathleen did a fantastic job of accommodating all the needs of me and my guests. She is amazingly flexible and responded to any requests immediately. I look forward to staying again soon.
Really enjoyed our stay here in Waterville. Good location to explore the area, and house had everything we needed (tennis court came as a nice surprise). Kathleen was very welcoming and easy to deal with. Would have no issue recommending anyone to stay here.
The location is perfect for a trip to Waterville. 3 minutes stroll to the shop and 5 minutes to the centre of the village. Great facilities and all the mod cons in the house made it a home away from home
Tennis court and even the use of a bicycle and BBQ all made for a perfect stay
The beds were extremely comfortable and our host was great and super easy to deal with
Highly recommended
Plenty of room and had every facility we needed. Owner excellent and very friendly and helpful - suggested good transport links to and from the airport. Local area very pleasant and clean with friendly pubs etc for the evening.

Wonderful place to have a holiday
We are just returning home after two weeks in this property. We've had a truly relaxing happy time, the owner kind and thoughtful. Just what me my adult children and two dogs needed.

Just lovely
Waterville was a wonderful place to stay and Kathleen's college was incredibly comfortable with very convenient access to the entire, cozy little town of Waterville. We had a wonderful time there for 4 days, and Kathleen is the best host you could ask for. We had every amenity available to us that we needed, and what's more, when we left our passports at the cottage and didn't realize it until we had arrived in Shannon the night before we needed to catch our flight, she drove halfway to meet us to return them and helped us to get a little sleep before our flight left. She absolutely saved us, and had the best hiking recommendations around - you will not be disappointed if you stay here. The hospitality alone is worth 5 stars!

Home away from home!
My wife and I and two children spent a marvelous week in June in this lovely cottage. As we were coming from the busy city life - this was like a breath of fresh air- perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway.
The house was well equipped, clean and well maintained, located just a 5 minute walk from the village which was ideal. Kathleen was very helpful and gave us loads of ideas of places to visit and things to do. We went on a walk/hike she suggested on one day which was truly spectacular and definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
The whole area is filled with different activities and amazing sights. We went to Valentia and a nearby fishing village of Portmagee. We also spent an evening at the chocolate factory at St Finians bay- which certainly satisfied our sweet tooth! The Fishermans Bar was really nice with decent food and nice music on Wednesday nights. The local grocery shops had all the basics to stock our kitchen and everyone was so friendly. We even went to a gaelic football match on one day which was very exciting.
This really was a home away from home- will be back again.

Very nice cottage
We spent a week here and never ran out of things to do. Lots of great walking in the area. Went to Valentia, visited the lighthouse cafe and the chocolate factory at St Finians Bay. The cottage is well situated for driving the Ring of Kerry and very convenient for Derrynane and Ballinskelligs wonderful sandy beaches.
The cottage was very clean and well maintained. It was comfortable and fully equipped with whatever we needed including dishwasher, washer, dryer, clothesline, iron, barbeque, cooktop, oven,
microwave, fridge, two bathrooms(one ensuite), 2 TV's, vcr, dvd player, Hi Fi system and a box of brochures of things to see and do.
Kathleen has thought of everything. At the end of the day we felt like we were "coming home".
We particularly enjoyed relaxing by the peat- burning fire in the sitting room, a smell I will forever associate with our stay in Ireland.

Lovely week
Just back from a lovely peaceful break in Waterville.
I loved this cottage! It is very comfortable bright and welcoming and is within easy walking distance of village, pubs and good restaurants. We unfortunately didnt get the best of weather but we did not let that spoil our hols. We chilled out , parked the car for the week, turned off the laptop and relaxed. Thank you Kathleen for your wonderful hospitality and especially for the turf and the firewood. We drank our fair share of red wine in front of that open fire. A great stay in a fabulous region !

Why they chose this property
It is very comfy, near village and beach. You can go for an evening stroll on the prom, pop in for a drink in one of the local bars and no worries about driving home. Waterville is very safe and is 100% crime free....long may that continue!
What makes this property unique
The cottage has a lovely sunny aspect....wonderful evening sunshine. It has a private tennis court and is very safe for children . Great base for hill walking and taking in the Kerry Way
