Our stay for my Birthday weekend was very nice. The cottage was very clean and the well stocked kitchen made cooking easy. Our bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on at a cottage. The location was perfect for taking wonderful hikes every day. Anne met us at the cottage after our long trip and was wonderful to show us around the cottage and its amenities. Would highly recommend this Cottage as the best we have ever stayed at.
The home was clean and exactly as listed. It is a beautiful cottage in a great location. Anne’s communication was always quick, especially when we locked ourselves out. Did get to see the eagles as well. Will be back.
The house was charming! The location was great and so was the view. The kitchen was well stocked and a pleasure to cook in. Our only complaints were the quality of the beds. The queen sized main room bed was very hard and it moved and squeaked when you got in, out, or turned over. We tried sleeping in the guest room on the full sized bed, and it had soft box springs that made you roll off the edge of the bed! My husband finally tried sleeping on the twin bed one night, and it also had box springs that made it uncomfortable. His solution was to gather up all the covers from the other beds and put them on the queen sized bed to help with the comfort. That worked pretty well. We made the week, but simply would not return unless we knew they had new beds. An outside propane firepit would have been nice to enjoy if they had one.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
The cottage was a bit hard to find the first time (small sign, house not visible from street), but we really enjoyed the spaciousness of the cottage, the walking trail out back and the beauty of the cove setting. Quiet neighborhood & beautiful homes. All amenities were wonderful (full fridge, coffee maker, back porch, towels, washer/dryer, TV, etc).
Woodbine Cottage is a lovely, cozy place to unplug and relax. It has everything you need! A full kitchen, comfy furniture and you are surrounded by nature. The eagles nest is an added bonus.
This is a perfect little cottage- it was spotlessly clean, well equipped, nicely decorated. The location is close to town yet quiet and peaceful. Lovely trails right in the neighborhood for walks and our grandchildren visited one day and had fun catching crabs off the dock. Its a perfect cottage to sit back, relax, and enjoy the fresh air. Highly recommended.
Everything about our stay was flawless. The instructions and communication prior to arrival were complete and clear. Anne is a fantastic hostess whose attention to detail and thoughtful gestures made our experience truly unforgettable. She met us at the cottage and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. She also mailed something back to us my daughter forgot and left behind.
The property was clean and cozy, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. It was evident that Anne puts a great deal of effort into maintaining a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for her guests. The thoughtful touches and amenities provided by her truly made us feel welcome.
We watched beautiful sunsets from the porch and enjoyed the refreshing sea breeze. We were also able to observe the eagles on the nest which made this trip even more special for us. We enjoyed this cottage immensely and would definitely return in the future.
Our stay was amazing!! Our host Ann was there to greet us when we arrived! She showed us the eagles that nested on her property!! Absolutely spectacular views of the water! Very clean and spacious home!! Ann and her sisterTori are excellent hosts! Can hardly wait to get back, we will definitely stay there again!!

My sister, Tory, and I dearly cherish and care for Woodbine Cottage, left to us by our amazingly beautiful mom, Petey. We both live in Maine, myself in Portland, and Tory in Dresden. Tory takes care of the financial end of things, while I manage booking and the hands-on care of Woodbine. It's been my great pleasure to care for this family cottage, as it's a way to still enjoy and honor our love for Mom, while also basking in the beauty of the place.
Why they chose this property
Honestly, this is one of the most beautiful, even enchanted, places to live or visit on the Maine coast. Indian Rest is an association. Please visit the association website (https://www.indianrest.org/trails-1) where you'll find pictures and a map of the trails you're welcome to explore. Woodbine Cottage is a little ways down Indian Rest Road on the left, and there's a painted sign at the top of the driveway so you can't miss it. There is a runway and dock directly off the waterfront side of the property, which is owned by our neighbor, a large house that you will have just passed to get to our driveway. This is a private dock not to be accessed, but feel free to spend time on the land and rocks all along the shore, as this is all association land. Whereas, the dock to the left or west of this one, as well as the association dock which is a short walk to the east (follow the shore path to get to either) are both available for tenant use. We don't provide kayaks or a canoe, but if you have one, this is a wonderful area for paddling. There's a pine tree on the shoreline, right by our neighbor's dock out front, that holds a big bald eagle's nest, currently with fledgeling eaglets. You'll be seeing people walk across what looks like our yard between the house and water, but association land begins not too far from the house, and its edge is the path. Any of these people walking can probably help you with finding the path as well.
What makes this property unique
My sister and I are very fortunate to have inherited Woodbine Cottage from our uncommonly beautiful and infinitely kind, dear Mom. She bought this property, as both a guest cottage and for us to have in the future, back in the mid 1990's when it was a smaller one bedroom place. She renovated it adding a second bedroom and screened porch. There's a painting hung there of what the cottage looked like years before Mom owned it. The essence of Mom's deeply kind and creative heart remains present, like a quiet signature, adding to the sublime peace and quiet of this waterfront retreat.
