The apartment is set in a quiet leafy area in central Wakefield. Amenities such as the many restaurants and bars are a short walk away, museums, theatres, are popular attractions. If you are here for a sporting event, the Wakefield Wildcats Rugby League team are a short drive away, and if football is your sport, a 20 minute drive will get you to Elland Road, the ground of Leeds United.
Retail therapy is well catered for. There are major chains locally or for serious shoppers, the Outlet at J32 of the M62 or the famous Harvey Nichols in Leeds just 10 minutes by train every 20 minutes.
There is easy access to the Motorway network, with both M1 and M62 only minutes away, making visiting the surrounding areas such as Leeds, York, Bronte Country, and the rest of Yorkshire only a short drive away. Wakefield is at the centre of it all.
This 1905 built building has stacks of character, with high ceilings and stained glass bedroom windows. Built by a former Lord Mayor of Wakefield, the building has lots of architecture of its time. More recently converted to apartments, we are fortunate to be able to offer you one of those to enjoy.
Amazingly quiet, considering its geographical position, you can be assured of a great nights sleep in one of our really comfy beds

About the host
Hosted by David

We are Alison and David. Proud Irish and Yorkshire folk respectively. We are professional people who have travelled the World and stayed in many hotels and serviced accommodation. We have a passion for quality and good service. We hope that Rhubarb Corner has in it everything that is essential in making a place clean, comfortable and welcoming.
The name Rhubarb Corner comes from the famous Rhubarb Triangle of which Wakefield is the epicentre. The forced Rhubarb grown in this area is sent all over the country and can be found in restaurants and shops through out the nation. I remember many years ago visiting Covent Garden Wholesale Market and been very proud of seeing "Grown in Yorkshire" on the boxes picked up by chefs from famous London restaurants
We hope you enjoy your stay with us, and tell us why you loved our small corner of the Rhubarb Triangle.

Why they chose this property
We recently moved to Wakefield and realised there was potential for an up scale accommodation in a lovely leafy area, right in the center of Wakefield.
Wakefield is in the heart of Yorkshire and a great base to explore the largest county in the country.

What makes this property unique
Rhubarb Corner stands alone with its unique character and charm. The period features of this former Mayors residence gives an exceptional feel for the area.
Though the property is over a hundred years old, the central heating makes it homely in winter and the high ceilings give a cool feel in summer.
We hope we have managed to furnish the apartment to feel comfortable yet up to date without being too modern, and without losing the 1905 feel.
