About this property

Cabin Fever | Pet-friendly Log Cabin in the Heart of Black Mountain!

While Cabin Fever is within walking distance of downtown Black Mountain, the property is entirely fenced in and boasts a beautiful iron gate for additional privacy and security to help you feel right at home. The front yard of this adorable log cabin is surrounded by towering trees, bundles of thriving foliage, and garden beds filled with vibrant flowers, and the covered front porch with swing and patio seating provides the perfect vantage point to take it all in. Alongside the home, you'll find a winding path to the back deck and spacious backyard where you'll find so many treasures to enjoy. From the retro, refurbished shed with antique wall hangings, a bright teal outdoor sink, and red patio seating to the 4-person dining table on the deck to the outdoor stone fireplace to the playground equipment with a swing set and slide, everyone (even your pet) will have something fun and relaxing to do in this sensational outdoor space.

Inside the home, you'll find a cozy living room with a stone gas logs fireplace and TV (cable and DVD player), perfect for watching movies and eating popcorn on a rainy night in. The sofa in the living room also conveniently converts into a twin bed for overflow. The first bedroom (double bed) shares a Jack & Jill style bathroom, complete with a clawfoot tub and shower combo, with the second bedroom (queen bed). The primary bedroom (queen bed) offers a private en suite bath that boasts a newly renovated walk-in shower. Just off the living room, you'll find the dining room with a table that seats 4 and the kitchen with stainless appliances, a large farmhouse sink, and a wooden rack above the sink for drying and storing dishes and utensils. The breakfast nook off the kitchen is the perfect spot to keep your pet's food and water, and it's also where the washer & dryer are located (behind folding doors). The breakfast nook is also where you can access the beautiful deck and backyard area.

The decor within this charming cabin gives a subtle nod to Appalachian antiquity while successfully offering a polished and modern living experience, coupling earthy tones and woodsy patterns with sleek appliances, fresh white walls, and updated features throughout. As a guest at Cabin Fever, you can start your day by sipping coffee on the front porch swing and listening to the birds and hum of downtown Black Mountain before making a delicious breakfast that you can enjoy in the cozy breakfast nook.

After breakfast, have a mid-morning soak in the classic clawfoot tub before strolling into town to check out the various shops and boutiques, or make your way to nearby Lake Tomahawk where you can walk the circular path and enjoy the view of the Seven Sisters Mountain range and local ducks bathing in the water. Grab a quick lunch at Trailhead or Little Sprout before heading home to read a book in the hammock under the majestic tree in the backyard. End the day by eating dinner on the outdoor patio and sitting around the outdoor firepit with a glass of wine looking up at the stars. At Cabin Fever, you'll have all the modern conveniences you need alongside the quaint coziness of a country farmhouse to guarantee a stay that's sweeter than Appalachian honey!

Please note: There is a direct path to the post office through the wicket gate in the backyard. This property is pet friendly with an additional fee. There is a Ring doorbell camera. While there is a television in the main living room, there are no televisions in any of the bedrooms.

Greybeard Rentals manages vacation rentals and vacation cabins in Asheville, Black Mountain, Montreat, Old Fort and surrounding areas. Located 10-15 minutes from downtown Asheville, Black Mountain is a quaint town with many great shopping options, delicious restaurants, breweries and access to hiking trails and wilderness areas. TripAdvisor named Black Mountain one of America's Prettiest Towns in 2017. Asheville is home to award-winning restaurants, stunning mountain views with access to areas like the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Biltmore Estate, and a variety of local art and culture. Oh, and did we mention Asheville has had the record for having more breweries per capita than any other U.S. city? We held the title for Beer City USA in 2009. Hiking trails are also located throughout western North Carolina.
