About this property
Toscana 5 - FromHometoRome
Via Toscana is part of a grid of streets around the American Embassy in Rome, with buildings designed and completed in the early years of the 20th century.
The building dates back to this era and the careful renovation has preserved some of the elements of that time, such as the original ceilings and the cementine tiles (concrete and hexagonal, very sought after in the original). At the same time, the owners have contrasted them with modern furnishings and details that will appeal to a traveler looking for the real Italy, away from the stereotypes of TV... and social media!
Toscana 5 has three bedrooms and can accommodate up to 8 people: one of the bedrooms even has a double sofa bed (a queen size) that can be used if you're traveling with small children, for example.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need should you want to prepare your meals from scratch, including a dishwasher, oven, induction hob, fridge and freezer, a Nespresso machine, a toaster, and a kettle. A washer and dryer is also available for all of your laundry needs. One of the two bathrooms has a shower, while the other has a bathtub.
Rich in natural light, Toscana 5 comes with independent heating, and air conditioning in all rooms. Our guests will be able to connect to their favorite streaming service (if available in Italy) through a Smart TV. A free Wifi connection is offered free of charge. The complex is equipped with an elevator (the apartment is on the third floor).
We kept for last the really unique feature of this apartment: the common terrace shared with the neighbors, complete with tables, lounge chairs and more, on top of the building. You’re free to use it during your stay between 8 am to 11 pm every day.
We’d like to point out how From Home to Rome is not in any way responsible for the access to the terrace, which could be closed on occasion depending on the arrangements of the building manager.
Roof terraces were historically thought of as social spaces, and this building has brought back a long-standing tradition of using them as places for meeting other residents. While they were usually accessed to hang one laundry or to have cookouts, now they’re mostly an extension of one’s apartment, and in this particular case this becomes an extra living room, just… in the open! This explains why certain rules have to be observed: appropriate clothing, opening times, for instance, refraining from making excessive noise, and respecting quiet hours and the building’s residents.
By placing an advance request, the terrace can also be reserved in the evening at a special rate, but keep in mind that the schedule could be already full, as this outdoor space can be rented out for private events. Drop us a line if interested, we’ll be happy to get back to you as soon as possible!
