Autumn Escape: Cozy Cabin Retreat in the Woods

Welcome to The Cabin!

Visit our IG @rambleonpines for updates and photos

•15 min to the Blue Ridge Parkway
•20 min to Bridgewater at Smith Mountain Lake
•25 min to Downtown Roanoke
•40 min to Peaks of Otter

Awaiting guests deep in the poplars that over took this holler years ago after all the green beans and potato crops were pulled from this fertile soil, is a modern chic cabin over looking a babbling creek with all the luxuries one would need for a weekend away from the grind of life.

Upon arrival guests will drive down a peaceful gravel driveway, that’ll follow the winding creek through the pine forest where it’ll open up to your private space.

Guests will pull up directly beside the front porch for parking. We have made the front porch easily accessible without any stairs to help guide you into the cabin effortlessly.

Entry into the cabin is secure and simple, using the code provided.

Guests will walk inside and be in awe of the hand hewn pine logs that encase this cabin, the one of a kind spiral staircase that leads to the loft, and the vast openness that creates spacious lighting and also a cozy ambiance that’ll leave guests feeling like they have been transported into their own private retreat.

The Kitchen
How do you prefer your coffee? We always take it old school with a pot full of strong black coffee. But we know our guests prefer to drink it their way. In the kitchen you will find a Keurig/Coffee Pot, a French Press and a Pour Over with coffee and creamer stocked for you. And if coffee isn’t your cup of tea, no worries we stock a variety of tea and a kettle. Our kitchen is stocked with all the essentials one might need to make their homemade meals or frozen pizza. The cabin has a full fridge and freezer, full size stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, crock pot, mixer, blender, and waffle maker.

The Living Space
When guests take a load off and sit down to relax in the living room, we think they will find all they need. Between a plethora of reading material, some of the host’s favorite novels, tv with roku to stream your own personal subscriptions, games, puzzles and the sofa pulls out to a queen size bed, we like to think guests will feel right at home.

The Workspace
Nestled in the corner we have supplied the ideal workspace for whomever needs to bring their work with them. Picked out specifically for this space, the antique table adorned with a one of a kind lamp will supply you with everything guests need. And let’s not forget the free fast Wi-Fi.

The Bathroom
An over sized luxurious walk-in tile shower within our spacious bathroom will leave you refreshed with everything you may need. Stackable washer and dryer for your convenience. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner and soap. We also supply an iron & ironing board, and hair dryer.

The Loft
Wind your way up the spiral staircase and find yourself enveloped in the comfort of a modern loft bedroom. With views of the serene creek and the tulip poplars, our guests are likely to find serenity while they rest their bodies on the lush purple queen mattress. The bedroom is stocked with a full dresser, hanging area for clothes, suitcase rack and a pull out sofa.

The Outdoor Space
Guests are only a couple minutes from route 24 which will take them just about anywhere they need to go. But maybe you came to The Cabin for just that, to be at The Cabin. Well, we have made it so any guest should find all the solitude they desire back in the woods. The spacious open deck that wraps around three sides of the cabin leaves ample space to fill your days. Sit back in the hammock chairs while you read your book or take a leisurely afternoon nap. Bring out your beverage and rock beside the creek even if it rains, you’ll be covered.
Ready to call it a day and relax in the hot tub, that’s fabulous because we have a secluded full size hot tub for our guests to use as they please.

When the weather is fine, stroll out into the yard to sit by the fire or cook up some scrumptious dinner on the propane grill.
We have set up this oasis by the creek so guests can sit back and relax in a way you can’t just find anywhere.

Things to note

The Cabin is most perfectly suited for the couple who is desiring a secluded time away from the bustle of the city, while also being conveniently located to Roanoke, Smith Mountain Lake, Blue Ridge Parkway and Lynchburg.

The Cabin is not considered a kid friendly cabin. The loft is an open concept with wire railings. The stairs leading up are open and don’t contain a baby gate. Our back deck also has wire railings and is several feet off the ground.
By requesting to book you are agreeing to full responsibility and liability for all children during your stay and that they will be monitored by an adult at all times.

If guests are bringing another couple we hope you understand the open floor concept and how that limits privacy.

*By being entranced by the wilderness, it’s important to remember that Mother Nature always finds a way to take back what she loves. There are critters in the woods and they might come up to say hi. White tail deer frequently wander between the trees munching on fresh foliage. Mama birds love to find secret spaces on the deck to raise their fledges during the Spring. We hope you don’t have any annoyance from any of these critters but if you do, feel free to reach out and we will come handle it.

Perfect Getaway in the Woods
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The cabin was so peaceful and perfect that we ended up not even leaving. Just took a couple days to rest/relax/recharge. The absolute perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. We racked our brains trying to think of anything the host could have done differently or better to make things more enjoyable and we couldn’t come up with anything. Just perfect.
