Mesmerizing!
What a charming, enchanted place. Off the beaten path, yet literally a short stroll to a timeless collection of art and exquisite dining. Try eating at the El Farol! We loved it. The casita was just as we imagined. It's rustic and inviting. Thank you, Lisa, for the opportunity to spend a couple of nights, which is simply not enough.

Wonderful location & atmosphere
We throughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It's an outstanding location with convenient on-site parking. The interior is well-decorated. We loved having a kitchen for snacks and cooking whenever we wanted. The accommodations were a great value when compared to a hotel stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Bugs and Heat left me miserable
~An army of Pharaoh ants in the kitchen caused me to throw out the fruit and food I'd bought. And no, I did NOT leave any dirty dishes in the sink or on the counter. They just poured out a crack in the grout.
~Some garden insect crawling on me in the bed at night woke me up a couple of times each night.
~The sky lights in the bedroom had me awake before dawn.
~The sheets were a dingy color where other's bodies have lain because they are not bleached in between uses. ~The comforter had yellow stains that I just did not want to think about. These were very apparent because I folded the comforter over from one side to the other because it was so hot in the bedroom. The stains are on the lower portion of the comforter.
~The ac was off when I arrived. I had to close off the bedroom in an attempt to get it tolerable. I never was able to use the living room because those doors had to be left closed to get the bedroom at something less than 80! The coolest the thermostat on the ac ever read was 73.
~It was just way to hot to cook in the kitchen.
~The park across the street no longer exists.
This was not the cost effective stay I had hoped for. It was pretty miserable.
I've never had to write a bad review of a VRBO/Home Away experience, but I have to be honest.
What I have presented here are the facts of my experience. I took pictures of the ants, the bugs in the bedroom and the stains in case Home Away doesn't believe me. I didn't think to take a picture of the thermostat.

Enchanting adobe on beautiful Canyon Road!
I rented this property for three nights, which comfortably provided a perfect home base for our trip to Santa Fe. All shops on Canyon Road are easily accessible by foot, along with the Teahouse restaurant (which was the best meal we had in Santa Fe). The plaza is close by, which we drove to and parked in a very affordable parking garage. In addition, a nice walk along the Santa Fe river is just minutes away from this quirky, yet enchanting adobe.
The casita (Amor) had a very well stocked kitchen, roomy bathroom, extremely comfortable and romantic bedroom with attached portal! Great for coffee in the morning and people watching! The skylights in the bedroom provided an unexpected wake-up call each morning. There is no sleeping in at this property, but carpe diem! The living room had two comfortable sofas that my two kids slept comfortably on. The only drawback was the private patio, featuring an enchanting statue of Saint Francis. The stonework was uneven and the chairs could use an upgrade. However, it provided tremendous views of the night sky.
Along with a trip to Taos and the Blue Mesa Alpaca ranch, I would highly recommend this property that is well worth the price for it's charming, authentic, and comfortable stay. I am planning another trip in the winter, just my husband and I! I can't wait! Thanks Lisa!

Lovely, very comfortable place - loved our stay there!
We had a wonderful stay here in Santa Fe! The Casita is very comfortable and inviting with everything that we needed and more. The location was perfect to access the River trail for our daily walks with our dog . Very nice walk to the Plaza and close enough to explore on foot many nooks and crannies of lovely Santa Fe! We will definitely return here ....looking forward to it already!

Inspiring, comfortable place with a creative flair.
I absolutely adored this place. I was here to spend a few days alone to write and relax, and I left feeling inspired and rested. The casita felt like home. It was stocked with all of the necessities- cooking essentials, toiletries. It is full of artistic details that entertain the eye. I woke up to a chorus of birds everyday. The location is great if you like the galleries of Canyon Road. The Plaza was a longer walk- about 20-30 minutes on foot. I will be returning to this place again and again.

Great location
We had a wonderful stay here. The house was perfect and was within walking distance to a park, restaurants, and many art galleries. We found the location very kid friendly as well. We played at the playground and flew kites across the street at the beautiful park and then went for walks in the evening. We also were able to enjoy the cute outdoor patio once our children fell asleep and loved stargazing. The house has a very cute southwestern adobe charm that we loved and the size was just perfect for us. We look forward to enjoying this location again in the future.

Quirky but perfect location for Canyon Rd. casita.
The casita was quirky and had some issues that should probably be addressed. Although the price was extremely reasonable and the location across the park fabulous, all in all there should be some upgrades for this property to used as a VRBO.
Pluses include a beautiful comfortable bedroom with nice bedding, linens and rugs. The fireplaces in both the bedroom and living room are wonderful but they should have a thermostat. There is no alternative but to just leave the fireplaces either on or off. The bathroom claw foot tub needs to be made more safe to be used as a shower. The shower curtain is suspended precariously to the ceiling and could easily fall down along with the shower curtain frame. The bathroom was quite cold. The door which opens from the kitchen to the enclosed porch does not lock and in fact the door knob fell out twice. The cleaning person has access to the locking front door which opens into the enclosed porch (to use the washing machine) and so also has access to the casita. We did enjoy the quirky casita and with a few upgrades, the casita could be much improved.
We enjoyed the Teahouse and walking in the historic Canyon Rd. area. We would probably suggest this casita to our friends for the price and location but stipulate that the casita has some issues!

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Bartoletti
My journey began in Southern California, Oregon, then Hawaii. Santa Fe has been a second home since 2011. I earned a BA in Psychology at UH Hilo, minoring in Fine Art. You will see some of my work adorning the casita. This is my second vacation rental. I began with my Hawaii home in 2009, so I'm a happy and well-reviewed host, and know the needs of vacationers. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, and strive to be of help.
Why they chose this property
One, the location is second to none. Peaceful yet just a few minute's stroll to world-class art galleries, dining, shops, nature trails. Lush and green Patrick Smith Park, and Santa Fe River is across the road. Also, the pueblo style of Santa Fe is unique in the world. Amor casita exudes this character and authenticity. I have decorated it in a combination Santa Fe Southwest style (a mix of Native and Spanish influences) along with modern touches.
What makes this property unique
Location, as mentioned above, as well as this is a real adobe. The walls are 18 inches thick, creating a soft environment indoors. And the authentic neighborhood, the park across the way, proximity to trails, galleries, museums, restaurants. Private, including a furnished courtyard with chiminea, under a trimmed lilac bush. I use non-toxic detergents and low or no perfumed cleansers.
