Summerlight Cottage in Carillon Beach at Panama City Beach
A two-minute walk from the front porch leads you to 3,900 feet of uncrowded, spectacular white sand beach and clear turquoise water.

Located in the charming and friendly Carillon Beach community, the cottage is on the far west end of Panama City Beach, away from the high rises and crowds.

Carillon Beach, a gated community, lies entirely beachside of Highway 98 so there are no busy roads running through it, separating you from the surf and sand.

The community is two miles from Scenic Highway 30A to the west, seven miles from Pier Park shopping and entertainment district to the east, and 18 miles from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP).

Two grocery stores, a pharmacy, a liquor store and small restaurants are within a mile for your convenience.

June and July rentals are by the week only and from Saturday to Saturday. Other months are any day of the week and a five-day minimum.

House features:
• 250 sq ft screen porch with ceiling fans
• Gourmet kitchen with a large array of utensils and spices
• All consumables (paper products, soaps, trash bags, etc.)

floats
• Simple fishing rods with basic tackle boxes (Those under 16 need no license.)
• Folding beach chairs

• Beach cruiser bikes, 3 child and 3 adult (Note: These are our personal bikes,
however as we are not there in the summer months, we cannot guarantee
that all bikes will be in rideable condition.

The Community lays adjacent to Lake Powell, the largest dune lake in North America. Philips Inlet connects the lake to the ocean providing great fishing and bird watching in a serene setting. Camp Helen, a Florida State Park, graces the shores of the lake and is directly west just a short drive or a scenic beach walk away.
An Arctic Tern sanctuary in the park provides interest for nature lovers.

Wonderful Trip!

Summerlight is the perfect vacation spot! The house is fantastic as it is easy to tell that it has character from its owners. Everything we could have hoped for is there - nothing was missing on the inside. And on the outside, we used the bikes and extra beach chairs every day. Ed is a great host as he communicated with us before, during and after the trip. We felt so at home in the house, the community is great (coffee shop/breakfast/lunch/dinner/ice cream/wine shop/general store), and the fact that it’s a two minute walk to the beach made for a wonderful trip!

Amazing Property and Host!

This house has everything you’ll need for a perfect and careless vocation. Fully stacked kitchen, clean rooms, and a perfect location; close to grocery stores and a few steps to a private clean beach. We didn’t have to worry about buying toilet paper/paper towels/detergent etc. Ed is a great host. Always on top of his emails, courteous, thoughtful, and prompt with his replies. We are looking forward to booking this property again for our 2023 summer VK. Thank you Ed for sharing your ‘other’ home with us!

Summerlight is a beautiful beach home!

My family really enjoyed our stay at Summerlight. The home was very beautifully decorated with bright beachy colors and artwork. The beds were so comfortable and the home was very well stocked with all the comforts of home. We loved how close Summerlight was to the beach walkover. Would highly recommend this home.

Wonderful Stay

My family and I throughly enjoyed our stay at Summerlight. Ed was extremely communicative and attentive to every detail, correcting even minor annoyances instantly. We were so delighted when we arrived at all the location, details and colors of the property. The kitchen was so cheerful and light, and the bedrooms more serene. I truly think the pictures don’t do it justice. The location was perfect with maybe a half block between the home and the walkover to the beach. Chairs and umbrellas are set up everyday for guests on the beach and that was invaluable. We rented a golf cart for ease of getting to the pools, etc. but we really didn’t need to. Everything is close by and you aren’t permitted to leave Carillon property anyway. The screened porch was a lovely place to relax and absolutely all the comforts of home are provided by Ed. The house was quite stocked. Overall, the beds were very comfy but the lovely rattan furniture was slightly less so. The stairs were steep to the bedrooms so that’s something to note. We felt Summerlight was very well maintained and quite special. We would stay here again, no question.

Sweetest beach cottage!

Literally steps away from the beach walkover! Perfect cottage for a group of 4-6. The bunk room is small but our tween girls loved it. The house is fully stocked with bikes and all the beach gear you could want/need. The porch makes this cottage live large and has fans (I’ve noticed a lot of houses in Carillon do not have porch fans). Highly recommend :)

Bliss near the beach

Beautiful house and amazing location for our family of four. I could not have been happier with the convenient short stroll to the beach and pool. Other reviews weren't wrong about how well apportioned to the kitchen was. Every time we needed something we checked the drawer and there it was. Also, Ed's communication was fantastic at check in and throughout the visit. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. 5 star all the way

Wonderful House & Community

We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation with our 4, 3 and 1 year old children. The house is clean, well cared for, and stocked with all the necessary and helpful amenities to make for an enjoyable stay. All the baby items and beach toys make it easy to pack for a stay at Summerlight. The community is beautiful, well manicured and full of friendly faces. All the pools & restrooms were clean at all times. Ed was such a pleasure to work with before, during and after our stay. We look forward to returning!

Beautiful neighborhood and beach!

The house was great, well equipped kitchen and beach items, really everything a family needs. Very close to beach, just steps to walkover. We really enjoyed the neighborhood as well, beautiful homes and we met some friendly people. Not far from pool, we took bikes or golf cart but definitely could walk. Beach cafe and couple restaurants close as well. Publix or Winn Dixie less than 5 min drive. Would definitely recommend for couples or families.

Great Beach House

My family (4) thoroughly enjoyed this house. It is less than a 5 minute casual stroll to the beach in a very quiet neighborhood with beach chairs setup everyday. The house itself reminded us of a modern twist on a classic beach house which my family greatly appreciated. Ed the owner made everything very easy for my family and responded quickly to any questions I asked. We have already decided that we will stay here again, only question is when.

We had a great week at Summerlight. The location is perfect. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Ed provides so many extras like sunscreen, bikes, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. We spent most of our time at the beach and on the screened porch. We were able to end our day in comfortable beds. We hope to go back again.

Perfect Fall Break

Summerlight and Carillon was perfect for our week-long fall break trip! We were traveling with a toddler and a newborn, so the closeness to the beach, the provided highchair and crib, and the house's layout made everything that much easier. The owner was very engaged and checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well. Additionally, we've had many rentals that barely had enough flatware. Summerlight was the opposite. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We'll definitely be staying again.

Having used vacation rentals for several years, this rental was exceptional. The stellar communication regarding property location, guard-at-the-gate requirements, and means by which to acquire the key were simple and clearly stated. The house was clean, well appointed (even unaccustomed soap/hand sanitizer provided), and easily suited my family’s needs/wants for our vacation. BRAVO.

Beautiful and efficient house, great owners!

Our family of four stayed during the July 4th week of 2020 and are already looking forward to coming back to Summerlight. The layout was perfect for smaller groups, with no wasted space and very aesthetic details everywhere. Contact with Ed via text/phone was seamless (we had internet/tc outages related to some local digging) and he worked hard to keep in touch during the problems. The 90-second walk to the beach was as easy as it gets, just like staying beachfront. And you still got all the ocean sounds and breezes, despite being a few houses further back in the neighborhood. Bikes and beach chairs were a huge plus!

Great location for relaxation!

We had a lovely week at Summerlight. The short walks to the beach and pools makes it very easy to relax and leave the car in the driveway (we really just drove to the very nearby Publix, and out to Seaside and Rosemary Beach for dinner). The house was very comfortable and well-equipped - the owners clearly take a lot of pride in providing a first class experience for their renters. The beach loungers and umbrella, included in the rental price, are a real bonus too!

We’ve stayed in Carillon numerous vacations and absolutely love Summerlight! It is a bright, airy and steps away from the beach! The owners are wonderful to deal with! It was the perfect size for three of us but five family members would be fine as well!! Old Florida vibe, and lovely!

Summerlight was perfect start to Fall!

Our family felt right at home at Summerlight! Molly & Ed are so kind to work with and their kind ways are evident in their home. Great stay for our family of 4!

We had a great stay! Our kids loved the bunk beds, and the room/ bathroom set up of the home was ideal. It was a very short walk to the walkover, and we had no issues carrying our things and walking with our 4 and 6 yr old. The kitchen was well equipped, and the owners were very helpful and responsive. Lovely home and location, and would book again! I wish the living room couches were a bit better for mid afternoon naps/lounging, but not a big deal at all. Thanks!!

GREAT week at Summerlight!

Out family of 4 had the best week. Summerlight had everything we needed. The location was fantastic, we could easily run back and forth from the beach to the house. When we arrived at the home we noticed the hammock had a huge hole in it. I text Ed, the owner, he had a new hammock ordered and delivered by Tuesday. He was extremely helpful and easy to work with. We will be returning to Summerlight!!!

We are Minnesotans who were transplanted to New Orleans for our careers in the early 80’s.

While there, we soon discovered the spectacular beaches of north Florida and began years of vacationing all along the coast from west to east and back again. Wanting to create our own family vacation home, we began our search for a beachside community.

Looking for the beauty of nature and the built environment both, we happened upon the then new “Village By the Sea” – Carillon Beach. We bought the lot in 1996 and built the house in 2004.

Since retirement, it has been our winter and spring home, often attracting our children and grandchildren.

We are delighted to offer our beach home for your vacations in the summer and fall.

We like the roomy lots which provide more privacy and the lack of car traffic makes our days much more relaxed. The landscape is fantastic. We have the best of both worlds here. The wild Florida of Camp Helen and Lake Powell as well as the convenience of suburban amenities plus all the leisure beachside activities anyone could want. Young or young at heart!
