About the host
Hosted by Kelly Wynkoop

As Seattle residents, we purchased Channel House to provide us an opportunity to spend more quality time with our son and his fiance, whom are Ventura residents. This is our second home and I think you will feel the extra effort and love put into the home when you enter it. This is not your typical short term rental, it is a well loved vacation home. And we love sharing it with others!
Why they chose this property
Midtown is a quintessential mid-century Southern California neighborhood with sidewalks and tree lined streets. It is situated about a half mile from the Pacific Ocean, a half mile from major shopping, and just a couple miles from Main Street/downtown pedestrian shopping area.
What makes this property unique
Channel House is beautifully designed with every detail guest focused. The beds and bedding are exceptionally cozy, kitchen and coffee bar is fully stocked.
The Sunroom is an enclosed patio. It is truly the heartbeat of the home, with its brick flooring and windows overlooking the idyllic back yard. Open the 10 foot sliding door and take your walk down the brick path to a darling back yard filled with hummingbirds and butterflies. Something is always in bloom.
The Cottage is a separate guest suite that functions like a home office and additional family room with 50 inch flatscreen. It even has its own private sink where guests can get ready in the morning. To top it off the Cottage has garden views into the raised beds where you will find raised vegetable and flower beds. It’s just so peaceful.
The Coastal Surfliner runs right behind the house. It is quiet and fast, generally takes 5-7 seconds to go by. Again, adding that quintessential Southern California beach town vibe! We love it!
