Great property with spacious house and great yard for the dogs! Everything was clean and ready for us to arrive. The only drawback was it was advertised to have WIFI but does not which was ok with us anyway.
This was a big family vacation, meaning there was 12 of us/ 3 families. The house held us all comfortably, and there was enough space that we never felt crowded or on top of each other. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals. There was more than enough room for both of our boats at the dock. This was our second time staying here and most likely won't be out last.
The sunset views are stunning.
Cottage very spacious and plenty of spaces for everyone. All as described in the listing.
And big thanks to Jeff for all is help when we arrived on the island. Rain was pouring and he was there waiting for our arrival and helping us unloading the boats and bringing everything up his pickup.
Would recommend this place anytime.
Very nice house. All essentials were ready and the home was clean. Property manager Jeff was helpful unloading our boat in his utv (mule).
The weather wasn't great the first two days on the island, nor the forecast near the end, so our stay and ability to see/use the island was shorter than anticipated. But Thankfully the weather on the weekend was excellent. The house was nice and cold on the hot days, and dry on the wet days.
The owner Ray was extremely responsive to any emails.
A very unique house and property. The water on the north side of grenadier where the home is situated is very calm and excellent for kayaking, fishing and some slower tubing.
Wonderful tree lined, quiet property. The only noises were the odd boat anchored nearby for the night, or a golf cart on the island. Tv and dvds were used on rainy days.
Cell coverage is strong for communication
Some suggestions for the property - sorry if i missed them.
-Kayaks, Canoe, bikes available for guests. We brought 4 kayaks, but it takes up a lot of space.
-Some local property and island information on where to hike/walk and what to do on the island. We're somewhat familiar with some parts of the island, but knowing where to walk (map of trails), or where biking/golf cart could go would be helpful.
-Local marinas to call or visit if boat trouble arises might be helpful
-Fix the deck stairs, before someone gets hurt, some are about to break, and slippery when damp.
Another TV might be helpful in bad weather
We arrived in a rain storm and Jeff was there to help us unload the boat and get our belongings to the house. He also offered us insights for local fishing. The home was spotless, the beds comfortable, the kitchen fully stocked, and the chairs down by the water allowed us to have our morning coffee and watch sunsets each day. The water level at the dock, and the path in and out from the main channel was super easy to navigate for our Boston Whaler 230 Outrage Being off the grid for the full week was a blessing to our family. We will most certainly be back! We all highly recommend this property.
This is a terrific spot. House and grounds are really nice. Large modern home with lots of room for multiple families. Well stocked kitchen with utensils and appliances but a little limited in any spice or seasoning. Fenced yard was great for our dogs. No wifi but good cell coverage. Lots of dock space. No visible neighbours so lots of privacy. Beautiful relaxing getaway.
We had a wonderful time at Ray's place with our extended family of 12. The place is huge, clean, comfortable and beautiful view of the St. Lawrence river. They have all amenities that we need. We enjoyed the beach nearby as well. Very easy dealing with Ray and the property manager. Thanks Ray and Jeff for making this a great experience for us. Highly recommend.
Another great stay on the island, plenty of space for a quiet and peaceful week. Location says it all, right in the heart of the 1000 islands and just a short boat ride from multiple launched.
Thoroughly enjoyed Ray V's cottage on Grenadier Island
We had a great stay. Location is very close to Rockport and we took advantage of that with our boat. There is a ton of space in the cottage for everyone so we never felt we were on top of each other (9 adults and 2 young children). Its' well equipped and was super clean. The property is huge with a great fenced in area. Large dock and firepit. Direct view to sunsets every evening! We had the great experience of finding a newly born baby deer right on the property. Didn't touch and eventually it went to fine Momma! GREAT FISHING TOO! Super week! Thank you!

Plenty of space, fantastic location, with activities ranging from nature walks on the island to fishing, boating, and water sports. Nature is abound here, perfect to relax off the grid yet just a simple short boat ride to all amenities.
Fantastic location and large/comfortable facility. Ray V. was great to work with and the property's caretaker very helpful. Water Taxi arranged through Dive Brockville. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!!
We had a wonderful time, the house was great, Jeff, the caretaker was excellent. Very helpful. The property is beautiful with great docking. I would suggest a ladder at the end of the dock for swimming though. Ray the owner was very helpful. We had a great stay.
Spent Labour Day weekend at Ray’s place with 11 extended family members. Place was perfect - comfortable, spacious, super clean and great water access. Also, all the amenities we could need. Made use of the canoe for fishing and a little exploring and found everything we needed in the kitchen.
A little extra travel to get to Grenedier Island, but the water taxi was easy and flexible so it was painless.
The house, the place, and especially the view went above and beyond our expectations! Everybody had a really great time. There's lots of activities and things to do like kayaking, hiking, swimming and fishing. There's also board games and DVDs for nights when you wanted to stay indoor. The kids are already planning to go back next year! We highly recommend this place!
We had 4 lovely days on this unique island getaway for a reunion. Short walk to a beautiful beach and the home was very large and comfortable for all of us. Thank you very much.
What a great property, everything was nice and clean upon arrival, lots of room for our 3 families. Kids had an absolute blast, and so did the adults. It is a great central spot for fishing too! We will be back.
We enjoyed this cottage for it's location and that it could accommodate our group. The cottage was clean, great layout and we had everything we needed. Perfect campfire location and dock. Had a great time and will return.
We spent 2 weeks at this property and loved every minute of it.
We shared the experience with our family and friends and everyone loved the property and enjoyed the experience. We made some good friends on the island, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Believe everything you see on the listing, it is as presented, beautiful, clean and everything you need for your stay is there.
I tried to book for next year during my stay but it was already booked, not surprising. I would recommend this property you will love it. Book fast though you don't want to miss out! Thank you Ray & Jeff for helping to make this a great experience for my family and friends.
The Fairfield's
We were 6 couples that came to enjoy our weekend on Grenadier. Being from the area we had no problem finding the property. On arrival the care taker welcomed us and helped us bring all our luggae on his pick up which was very much appreciated.
The kitchen aas fully stocked and we had everything we needed. There is an extra freezer in the basement a fridge would have been more convenient given how packed the fridge was. BBQ had lots of propane with an extra tank in case.
Enough wood in the area to gather for a nice bond fire.
The rooms were spacious and the basement rooms had extra blankets in case it got cold.
The only downfall was that some of the screens let the bugs in and there was lots i the evening so keep certian windows closed and lights off. And the last downfall was there are no recycling bins but we made our own.
Thanks for an awesome weekend!

About the host
Hosted by Raymond Ventrice
Our family has vacationed in the 1000 Island region for over 40 years. We purchased this vacation home in 2007. We are very excited about it for numerous reasons. The area views are breathtaking, fishing is incredible and time with family is precious. Whether your plan is to fish, scuba dive, tour the region or just relax, this is a true family vacation.
Why they chose this property
There are many benefits to staying on Grenadier Island. The #1 benefit is the breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River. However the river is much more than a view. It is for swimming, fishing, boating and water sports. The house offers heat, a/c, full kitchen, 5 bedrooms and 5 baths.
