Ocean view with lanai in Beachfront Sugar Beach Resort!

* Please note: The pool, hot tub and pool deck will be closed in September, for one week, starting the Monday after Labour Day/ the 2nd Monday of September, from Sept 9 - 15, 2024 * As well, the living room pull out couch was replaced with a brand new couch January 2022.

On the beautiful south shore of Maui, Sugar Beach Resort lies nestled between Maalaea and Kihei. Located directly on sandy Sugar Beach it's a favorite among sun seekers and adventurer's alike.

Sugar Beach has over 5 miles of golden, sandy beach that's ideal for walking, running, swimming, snorkeling and paddle-boarding. Sugar Beach Resort is also centrally located and is a great jumping off point from which to travel and explore the island.

Unit #402 is a 4th floor, ocean-view and corner unit at Sugar Beach Resort. It is a 1 bedroom,1 bathroom condo that sleeps up to 4 people. There's a king size bed in the bedroom and a queen size sofa bed in the living room. The condo has a full kitchen, living area and lanai that's ideal for cracking a bottle of wine and watching the sun set over the palms. With hand picked Hawaiian touches the unit is charming, modern and convenient.

Maui Magic

We had a wonderful two weeks at Sugar Beach. Always something new to discover. Definitely recommend a visitor paddle with the Kihei Canoe Club! Condo was comfortable and had all the things we needed for meals and the beach. Lovely views from the lanai. Great walking beach and pool. We love our time at Sugar Beach! Great communication with Kim and Roslyn. Thank you so much!

Enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was really nice to come back from exploring the island and relax on the patio or go down and sit at the beach. Short enough walk from the beach that it was easy to go back up to the condo to grab anything that we needed. Elevators were quick so we didnt have to go up the stairs every time. We noticed that one of the beach chairs in the rental had a broken leg. We weren't too concerned because there are already chairs at the complex, but owner responded quickly and had another chair delivered later that day which we appreciated. Would definitely stay here again.

Active vacation

Great location to explore all of Maui’s diverse activities-West Maui Mountain, Road to Hana, Haleakala Crater, and south Maui beaches. We liked starting our day with a Long Beach walk followed by sipping coffee on the lanai. From the lanai there are views of ocean and WMM. We enjoyed relaxing after a busy day by the pool/beach. This is a cozy, comfortable unit.

Wonderful Stay

This stay was one of the highlights of our vacation. Beautiful views, convenient location, close to everything. Beach is located right behind the resort. You have a sunset view right from your balcony. The place is well-decorated, well-equipped and had everything we needed. Kitchen is fully stocked. Bed was comfortable. Having washer and dryer was a plus. Definitely recommend this stay!

Great location right on the beach

This property is in a great location. It's right on the beach north of Kihei, so it's not in a busy part of town. This condo is an end unit closest to the road, so there is some road noise but it wasn't problematic. The views and sounds of the ocean from the lanai are great. The property was comfortable and had lots of beach gear that helped make our stay better. We had some TV problems and the property managers were very responsive and helpful.

Sugar Beach 5th Time at Property

It's a great location for experienced travelers in Maui. Maui is for the early riser. If you want to enjoy all that this island has to offer, you MUST get out of bed early. Plan on sleeping from 10pm - 6am. If you can do that, you will be impressed with this property.

Great rental option

Overall, a great property! Very clean and well-maintained. Property owner was helpful and responsive. Beach sometimes got windy during the afternoons but the central location made it easy to explore other beaches too. Lots of “extras” in the room - beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, etc. Would definitely come back here again!

We loved our condo at Sugar Beach resort! The room literally had everything we could think of needing, and more! Comfy bed, AC worked great, and the view from the Lanai was amazing! Hot tub and oceanfront hangs were just a short stroll from the room. Would 100% stay here again!

Wonderful escape

We Loved Sugar Beach

We had a fantastic 11 day stay at the end of Ocotber! The condo was accurately described and fit our needs perfectly. We loved the views of the courtyard, ocean, West Maui Mountains, and even Mount Haleakala which we could see from our bedroom window. We highly reccomend Sugar Beach Resort and this condo.

Wonderful Oceanfront Property!!!!

We had the best time staying at this property. The unit was well maintained and neat. The view from the balcony is amazing and just walking distance to the beach. The kitchen has everything you need if you plan to cook. Only thing is it gets colder in the nights and if you plan to enjoy some time in the balcony make sure to carry a throw. Overall highly recommend this place for your Maui Vacation!!!

Sugar Beach Beauty!

My wife (then fiancée) and I were planning our honeymoon to Maui, and knew we wanted to stay on a tighter budget for our place to stay, to have more money for all our Maui adventures! We were looking on VRBO and a few other sites for a place to stay in the Kihei area, and stumbled upon this gem. I had stayed at Sugar Beach Resort once before when I came to Maui as a kid, so I already knew the resort was nice and had a great location. This condo had everything we needed as a couple, and made our visit nice and easy. The only issue we had the entire trip was a leaky kitchen sink, but I was able to call the front desk and they had someone from maintenance at our door within 30 minutes! They had the problem fixed within a couple of hours and we didn’t even realize anyone had been there when we got back from the beach. It is a little outdated, but this didn’t bother us much as we pretty much only were there to sleep and eat! It was simple, but had everything we needed! And you can’t beat that Maui beach view! Only complaint is we were closer to the road than the ocean, so when we had the doors to to lanai open, we could hear traffic, but this was only a small thing that didn’t bother us much. We will definitely be back here for future visits, and couldn’t recommend it more!

Great location for adventure, but not great for beachin'

The property and room were clean. A little dated but perfectly fine. Plenty of fans helped keep airflow moving around. Short drive to restaurants. Being at the top of Kihei makes it a fantastic jump-point to other parts of the island. Also being at the top of Kihei means it's extra windy especially in afternoons. Nothing against the property, but something to be aware of if you want to lounge on the beach (which is very very small, so really it's lounging on the grassy area near the beach). Overall great unit and would stay here again for the location benefit.

An Enjoyable Time!

Although it is older (and we were well aware of that being my wife stayed here with a friend 35 years or so ago), we felt it was clean, comfortable, and affordable! I was impressed with the quick response by the Vacasa folks when we needed something! If improvements/additions are made at some point pool wise, a larger (or a 2nd one) hot tub would be NICE as it was awfully crowded at times!

Perfect place, perfect location

Was thrilled to be in Maui and at Sugar Beach for our vacation. The pool and hot tub were very inviting..….and a few more steps to the beach. Pictures were accurate of the condo and it was was comfy. Bring your own washing machine pods as that is one item not available in condo.

Sugar Beach Condo

We enjoyed our stay at the sugar Beach condo. Central location, beautiful calm beach for mornings. Very nice accommodations for the condo, king size bed was very comfortable and we slept like babies, was very pleased.
