Fun rustic getaway for our family!
We had the best time spending the day playing board games, reading, spending time together and at night watching Christmas movies with hot cocoa and snuggling by the fire.
The road to get there in November during the rain makes the road muddy and challenging but not impossible as long as you have a 4x4 or AWD vehicle you should be fine. We were skeptical at first since the manager was not minimizing the condition ofroad but heywe have an all wheel drive suv and this was an adventure so we went for it and we were glad we did because it is secluded away from the roads and very peaceful.
There were a couple hiccups with the oven not working. Stove worked just fine so we used that instead and there is also a toaster oven. The coffee pot is small so you may want to bring your own if you like coffee. No dish towels but plenty of paper goods like paper towels, plates, napkins, etc.
We had 4 adults and two kids (10 and 12) on this trip and so 2 adults slept in the downstairs room. The other two adults slept in The double bed upstairs which was a tight squeeze no matter how much you love your spouse and the kids in each twin beds . I would say if you have more than one couple then the double bed may not do well for you. There is a day bed downstairs as well with a pull out trundle.
Overall this is a little gem in the woods and you can tell the owner has put a lot of hard work into restoring it. It really is rustic and off the beaten path and just what we were looking for!
