About the host
Hosted by Kerry Cohen

I've lived in Portland for 30 years, but I'm originally from New Jersey. I'm a therapist at Reed College, a published author, and a dabbler in stand up comedy.
Why they chose this property
Of all the areas I've lived in Portland, Woodstock is by far my favorite. It's an older neighborhood, which means the trees are bigger and more plentiful, and there's almost a rural feel. Woodstock is populated by a mix of young families and O.G.s (the originals). All are friendly, liberal-minded, community oriented, and thoughtful about the neighborhood and the people in it. Woodstock Blvd - a short walk away - has just about everything you'll need, including grocery, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a dispensary, and shops. We're an easy walk to the beautiful Reed College, the Rhododendron Gardens, and so much more.
What makes this property unique
My property is full of flowering and fruiting fruit trees, as well as a stunning old Cedar of Lebanon that has clearly been here long before any of us were. Depending on the time of year, expect to see hummingbirds, jays, starlings, woodpeckers, and of course crows and squirrels. The main house (where I live) was built in 1950. It's a rare-for-this-neighborhood midcentury home with a slanted roof, and the ADU in which you'll stay is a mini version of the main house. This is why you have a high, slanted ceiling.
