This Beautifully Hand-Crafted Log Home (affectionately built by the owner) is stylishly furnished and offers 2 Large Bedrooms and 2 Full Bathrooms. The Upstairs offers a King Bed with adjacent full bath, On the Downstairs/ Main Floor level you will find an Antique Oak Bedroom Suite with Full Sized Bed. This bedroom also has an adjacent full bath with Jacuzzi tub. The great room houses a handcrafted stone, wood burning fireplace. Additional sleeping areas are available upstairs in the open loft den with 2 reclining futons. The Beauty of the Mountains is displayed and enjoyed from the attached wrap-around deck. Our log rental home is in Mars Hill (Wolf Laurel Area) minutes from Asheville. This beauty is available year-round as a seasonal rental, with the beauty of the Mountains to seen in their glory. Come relax and be refreshed.

Perfect Mountain Vacation

This was our first time using Vrbo, and it was a wonderful experience. Mary, the host, was so helpful, and great about communication. She reached out prior to our trip, with some helpful tips. And then was available for any issues we had while we were there (the only issue with us being from Florida, and not being completely familiar with a furnace lol). The cabin was very cool, and could easily fit several more people. The fireplace was our favorite part. The cabin is located a little bit up the mountain, so Mary kindly advised that we needed a 4 wheel drive vehicle, which was very helpful. If you are not from the area, my only suggestion would be you might want to pack extra blanket… we were visiting from Florida, and found ourselves running to the store for a down comforter, just because we are not used to those temperatures! We are definitely looking forward to visiting the cabin again sometime in the future. Great experience. Would highly recommend this location and host. Thanks Mary!!!

A relaxing getaway

A cabin in the woods. With great views. We loved star gazing at night sitting by the fire pit. It was a quick trip into Asheville, check out French Broad and Salsas. And the town of Mars Hill had a bakery, coffee shop and a Brewery that looked cute.

A delightful cabin in the woods

We had a wonderful weekend staying here. The cabin would’ve easily slept up to six people and gave us enough space to be comfortable and cozy at the same time. We enjoyed walking through the woods and taking in the cool air and fall leaves. The cabin was well, outfitted, clean, and convenient. Mary was a delight to work with, and we will definitely visit again.

Restful and remote

Great place if you want to be remote, enjoy nature and unplug from life in general. Great host. Beautiful property. A little bit of road noise but quieted down at night. Open the windows and enjoy the mountain air. Very comfortable and relaxing accommodations.

Lovely cabin in the trees!

This cabin and the location was beautiful! I loved stepping out onto the spacious deck and being amongst the trees. It rained much of our stay, but we had hoped to enjoy the deck more and the outdoor fire pit looked like a nice spot to relax. The rain on the roof sounded so relaxing to sleep too. The owner was super friendly and called me to make sure everything was good which was sweet. The cabin, bathrooms, kitchen, and linens were all very clean but it needs a good dusting in the nooks and crannies of window sills, corners, under the stairs kind of spots. The bed and couch were comfy and overall it was a cozy place to stay that we really enjoyed!

Great place for rest and recharge

The cabin is lovely with several sitting areas outdoors to enjoy the view. Our host, Mary, checked in on us often due to the snow to make sure we were warm and had what we needed. We did not have a vehicle with chains or 4x4 but there was a place across the highway where we parked and walked up to the cabin We were able to drive up on the second day. It was very quiet and peaceful. The cabin was comfortable for the floor of us to gather to watch TV, play games, and eat. We could also spread out and have time to ourselves. We cooked all our meals there and only went to town to eat once, but there were several choices and a nearby grocery store. Would stay again.

Relaxing Tree House

Breathtaking views on the porch, perfect for any family or couple needing to escape from the noise of everyday life. Mary was the sweetest property owner we have ever experienced. We can't wait to go back.

Absolutely recommendable

Thinking already on when we can come back! Perfect spot to retreat and disconnect with easy enough access to Ashville should you need or want to do so. And it offers all the commodities! The word cabin has been redefined for me. This one is large, everything is clean, it doesn’t feel clunky, hot water and wifi are very reliable. The one bed we used was confortable. And to top it up, the host is very sweet and made it all very easy with prompt communication. Definitely recommend it!

5 STAR peace and quiet at The Mariah cabin

My wife and I spent a beautiful and peaceful weekend in the Mariah. Mary was a wonderful host and she was very attentive. The cabin is gorgeous, hand-crafted, and nestled in a private location thats only 20 minutes to Weaverville. Just a wonderful place to go and decompress and relax in the woods. If you like peace and quiet, this place is for you. Thank you Mary.

Awesome, very beautiful, and amazing mountain home

Seclusion And Relaxation

I must say staying at the Mariah was exactly what me and my wife were looking for,seclusion and relaxation. It was fabulous to get away to a beautiful mountain retreat for labor day weekend from the hustle and bustle of life/work in the big city. No one bothered us,well except for a small furry friend (raccoon) who came around outside at night for my wife to play with.lol This two bedroom cabin was clean and everything was included. The owner Mary was great,friendly and courteous. Anything we asked she was readily available to provide it to us. The only thing me and my wife said was that we wished we had a bigger TV in the cabin.lol Other than that everything was wonderful. We will definitely stay here again.Thank you Mary for making our experience memorable.

Just What We Needed!

This cabin was perfect. We had a cold snap and it was very easy to keep the cabin toasty with the wall propane heater. The fireplace was a nice extra right in front of the large sofa and chair, it became the place to be! The reflection of fall colors came streaming in through all of the windows(there are many)The kitchen(clean, neat and well equipped) was a perfect size and open to the large space that was the first floor, which made cooking a fun experience and a group interaction!Bathrooms were clean, convenient washer and dryer,big porch,huge loft,close to town,bedding and linens were great!It was good to drive 20 min out of the city to the peaceful hillside.The wooden interior of the cabin was warm and charming. The owner was kind and thoughtful.

Wonderful stay in the snowy mountains this weekend!

We stayed at the Mariah and had a wonderful experience. The cabin was set up very nicely and was perfect for our weekend getaway. The pictures are accurate and the property was clean. The owner was very helpful, professional, and personable so that made it all the more enjoyable. One of the best aspects of staying in this cabin is the view. You are on top of a mountain and look over miles of mountain top trees. In fact, when you wake up in the upper bedroom, you roll over and see the view which is serene and beautiful. Also, Wolf Laurel, the local ski resort is right up the street. So if you want a bit more privacy but can go skiing quickly, this is the perfect place. There is also a little café with home-style cooking right down the street. The same owner also has a cabin up the hill which is even more beautiful. That cabin accommodates more people and has the best view. If you enjoy star gazing she had a nice telescope in the larger cabin. If you venture to Mars hill for skiing or just to get away, check these two cabins out. You won't be dealing with an agency which can be impersonal and frustrating. We called last minute Friday night, and she was perfectly fine with us arriving at 1 AM. We had a great time!

The Mariah was wonderful!

The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable. We loved the look and feel of staying in a true log cabin, but really appreciated the great amenities that are built in. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Mary, the owner, really makes this cabin and the stay truly memorable. I asked her to get flowers for me and she didn't hesitate. We had an unexpected late arrival and that didn't faze her at all. I especially appreciated the suggestions and directions she had for everything in the area to do and see, including great restaurants. The distance to Asheville is within 30 minutes, but Weaverville, our favorite, is closer at 20 minutes. I was able to run the trails nearby and loved the amazing scenery. We cannot wait to get back to the Mariah.
