Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Unfortunate, and definitely not "chic"
I avoid leaving negative reviews as much as I can, but I believe this situation requires informing others who are considering staying at this property.
We arrived around 11:30pm to the property, tired from travel, and we were shocked by the lack of cleanliness of the building. I believe it is a shared property with other permanent and semi-permanent tenants, but it was rather gross. Once we got into the apartment, we were surprised at how unclean and un"chic" the apartment was. We also were told there was a key fob to be used to get into the building for the remainder of the stay, but there was not (likely just a communication error with the cleaners, I don't know).
On top of this, there were cockroaches scurrying around the apartment.
We felt bad messaging the host so late, but we couldn't find the key fob, so wouldn't be able to reenter.
In short, the commutation was less than helpful. While the host responded in a timely manner, it was almost as if I was receiving automated responses, though I know that wasn't the case because this person was asking for pictures of the roaches. Still, the responses were not helpful and I had to repeat myself several times, as if what I was saying was not coming across.
Vrbo only allows 1500 char. so I'm out of space. Long story short: we found somewhere else to stay by 1am due to the pests and uncleanliness, no refund or any comp. I know the policies, but I feel we should have received something due to the property condition.
